Wcmls Major Update (december 2024)

There is an article up for the gameplay packs now and it mentions it’s also coming next week.

 

So, if I’ve got this correct, the update for the route is free to existing owners, and to have the additional layers we need to buy the pack?

 

It mentions that some of the previously announced layers have been removed. For context, have they been removed entirely or are they just disabled by default?

 

I am happy to sacrifice some rail tours and static stock for the added services.

I am looking forward to the update as I haven't been playing the route since the update was announced.

 

Two questions for clarity.

1. Will the fonts on the Watford DC Line stations be updated to TfL Johnston Font standards?

2. Besides reworking the timetable for the Watford DC and Bakerloo Lines, will this include adding the current missing services from LNWR and Avanti West Coast?

 

I expect that the Johnston typeface would require a license to use. They could still change the typeface from the default Unreal font to something closer like Gill Sans or a lookalike.

 

It would be strange if after 3 LO routes & 2 trains, they didn’t have the license to the font.

 

As with many other things with TS and TSW, just because they had a license at one point doesn't mean they have one now.

 

I would assume that they still have the TFL license as we have part of the NLL and class 378 coming which looks fully licensed. Plus I think I heard that DTG have a very good relationship with TFL.

 

I believe the Johnstones font is available to use in Livery designer and is used on the Bakerloo sections of WCML so I can’t see why it wasn’t implemented.

 

I recon it is probably because rivet were involved and I think the reason that the font is on the Bakerloo section because that part is directly copied from the Bakerloo Line DLC. The whole Watford DC line in the current WCMLS seems like a bit of an afterthought.

Will there be a longer article on what the changes are like we usually get, with one shorter version, and one longer version going into more detail?

So i just read the update post on the game are they actually making the 350s the right length 12 8 and few 4 trains ?

I'm really glad they are making most of the 350's 8 car formations, to me as a regular filming at Watford Jct. this seemed the biggest LOVE-up of the lot as 4 car formations of 350's are rare, it's just too busy a line to warrant their use, the passengers would be riding on top like they do in India! For me this had a certain 3rd party dev written all over it as they normally build quieter and branch lines where 4 cars are more common. The same could be said for the utter lack of ai traffic on the route compared to IRL. Thank goodness DTG had the grace to do to this route what should have been done from the start. Only that prompted me to go out and buy it. I refuse to drive it until the patch comes out next week as I don't play fantasy train simulators.

In the reveal they early next week Thursday is not the early part the week

 

The gameplay pack is coming Thursday, the update will probably be Tuesday or Wednesday as they always release an update before dlc is released

Oh dear! It's still showing missing services on both the Watford DC and the Class 350 services.

 

Hoping that is has been split between the 4 and 5 car variant to provide a full timetable. May well be wishful thinking

Okay, we've got underground and overground with improvements

My understanding is that this is the first big patch, the improved timetable (including LO and LU services) is still being worked on.

 

Anyone else not seeing any difference on the route?

 

DTG Harry is gen8 really expecting new services when you do patch can they be a spreate gen8 section please

 

I don't think the wcml update has been sent yet as features they say have been fixed such as the guard signal from the back still isn't working (this is on ps5)

 

the WCMLS EP Mod timetable STILL has more services... LMAO. Couldn't even get this right after all this time.

Surely this has got to be a major error on DTGs behalf? I hope it's a mistake which can be easily resolved...
