Just a quick one, I brought this in the steam sales last week rather than go through just trains as it was not on sale. I have just downloaded some scenarios from Alan Thompson and they have not appeared? Any clue why they do not appear, does it make a difference when adding the file if it's a just trains install compared to a direct steam install? I did the usual put the file into the content folder? I bet some of you guys will know the exact fix to this problem Thanks I'm advance
What's the GUID (long cryptic string of letters and numbers) for the route folder the scenarios live in? and what are those scenarios...helps us all if we can see what you're asking about.
To be honest I have always just downloaded the scenario and just put them into the routes folder. Never dragged any into any specific route folder before?
Blind trust then...new to this are you?...which scenarios are they?...or just one, that'll do to start with.
No been playing forever this is the first time this has happend? It says just drop into the content folder but for some reason doesn't seem to get picked up. https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/sid-2b24-0650-poole-winchester/
You download it, open the zip and drag the "Content" folder into your RailWorks folder. Same procedure as every time, James. Don't wanna use the repaints (they overwrite AP files) so swapped the stock for included AP SWR
Stupid question time...but you do have the South Western Main Line: Southampton – Bournemouth route don't you?
Yeah that is what I always do, for some reason it's not appearing this time? Yeah I do I have it. The standard scenarios are there which work ? Not sure does a steam version of the route act differently to a just trains install?
Steam or JT shouldn't make a difference, so we just need to concentrate on what's in your e16563b7-3b3d-4ea4-9555-0fb1a25a3d21 folder
Spikee, if you've swapped the stock what you see in the menu ain't gonna be what James will/should see...
What is this file then, just so I can try and understand. I have 6 folders 35c9ec35-814e-41c9-9566-5b5087eb95f2 4548c484-75c9-41bb-aa32-63cf71de747c 51396a38-92a8-4664-9afd-c028fc82829b 72071df9-5529-4490-92ed-64b8710ea741 8391418b-50e7-4cb2-9d3b-a87f7964da36 b4dd17a7-f17a-40e8-9a37-f5895cd10c79
So far so good - correctly installed. Now where exactly are you trying to find the scenario? See my picture above where it appears.
The scenario name don't change except for LoSw suffix. The question is where Odd1ne is looking for the scenario. Maybe in DTG Southampton Bournemouth? Drive > Standard > Just Trains - Wessex Main Line > [SID] 2B24 0650 Poole to Winchester
e16563b7-3b3d-4ea4-9555-0fb1a25a3d21 is the folder for the route, in that you should have a Scenarios folder in which the 72071df9-5529-4490-92ed-64b8710ea741 lives--that's the folder that contains the files for the scenario you can't find. You've got that folder so in there you should have ScenarioProperties.xml is the file that tells the game what name to display in the menu--do you have the Semaphore Simulation SWR reskin installed?
Strange I have just varied the files just to double check something hadn't happened after a download now that one along with a couple of other scenarios I had added have appeared? Perhaps something in the directory had gone missing when I was moving stuff around? I perhaps messed something up as I wanted to get rid of the original scenarios as I had completed them. Thanks for your help though
If you experience routes missing from QuickDrive, delete the file RailWorks\Content\SDBCache.bin. Sometimes it gets corrupted, deleting it will let the game rescan all scenarios and rebuild the database.
