Harlem if you want to run without mandatory safety systems on, but LIRR is a little bit of a network and has some faster running sections.

LIRR 2 is now the better route for many reasons:
    -It’s bigger
    -More up to date
    -More services
    -More variety in service types
    -More variety in trains

    LIRR V2 Dal.
Initially frustrating until you get the rhythm of the safety systems.
But very satisfying to run the varied timetable once you do.

While it is technically possible to run with the safety systems off on Harlem, it will be a very bad time inevitably. Because of the way real life signalling works, allowing two trains to occupy the same block, if you aren't using the safety systems you won't get the required speed reductions for that to happen and eventually plow into the back of another train.

For the OP's question I'd reccomend LIRR 2.0 first (make sure its the updated one LIRR Commuter not the old one Long Island Railroad), just due to it being a much newer and more interesting route.

The one where some clown didn't blank-off the M9 circuit breakers is best.

They could have just removed the switch labels and made them inoperable, instead of slapping ugly panels over it... Talk about overkill! :D

LIRR2 is the better route by far. Has the most branches out of any route.provides the most variety and complete services . Don’t get me wrong I like Harlem line but it has the same issue as BML, it’s dated and needs Tod 4
