In 2016, the quiet hours were changed from 23:00 - 07:00 to 23:59 - 06:00. I didn't start working for Central Trains until 2001, so can't give much more info.
I remember when you could chase the train down the platform. The guard would even give you a hand to get on it. How times change.
Maybe it was just a fluke, but a few days ago, I was able to control the Class 87 Blu with my Raildriver. Today, I can't. I'm validating the files again via Steam now. Or is the Class 87 Blu not set up to work with the Raildriver? In the Game, I don't see it listed, nor do I see the Class 87 IC. :UPDATE: I was using the Class 87 IC and why it worked was due to an RD Mod. :Update #2: Pulled a Bone head move. I installed two mods that did the same thing, and one canceled the other out. With the one(1) mod the Class 87 Blu is working with the rail driver. --- Will update as needed, on this issue.
Not sure if it's a feature or a bug but once you isolate the rheostats on the Class 87 you can't unisolate them.
I tried to start the game at 23:55 in Foot mode. Practically nothing worked, or rather just static, no scheduled AI times etc... I guess it's set to game time 0:00 - 23:59.....
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z20 Nottingham to Barrow Part 2 (11:50) LOCO: Class 20 RF LOCATION: Railway bridge between Morcambe station and Bare Lane station (between signals ME53 and ME67), travelling in the direction of Bare Lane. BUG: Railway bridge is too low, striking and clipping the roof of passing trains.
If you'd looked outside you'd have noticed the vans' wheels weren't moving. There's a switch on the class 08 to change it from air to vacuum brake
Apologies if already been mentioned but 87 012 is missing it's nameplate 'Couer de lion'. I'd been waiting for it turn up as I had a model of this when I had a trainset when I was a kid.
Thank you for this insight, being from the US, air v vacuum isn't a thing here. I did check the hand brake on the vans and it was released.
I was doing journey mode on the route and in the kick the van section service 1M20 is impossible to do without being late. This is because there is a train which you at one of the other platforms which you will hit unless it moves abut the service doesn’t leave until 6minutes past you are scheduled to get there. PS4
Look at the connected hoses between the wagon and locomotive each time. Air hoses are always smooth and have a **** on the end, where vacuum hoses are always ribbed and have no ****. (No euphemism intended)
Midnight, thanks that is good information for future reference. I see no issue saying "valve #ock". By the way, where is the changeover valve in the cab of the 08? Isn't this nice, censor of certain words even in a context where they are a normal not vulgar usage.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z20 Barrow to Nottingham (17:08) LOCO: Class 20 RF LOCATION: Section of four bridges, Southbound, between signals CE145 and CE146, at yellow mile post 40. BUG: Missing section of OHLE conductor wires.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z20 Barrow to Nottingham (17:08) LOCO: Class 20 RF LOCATION: Behind the train starting point at signal CE361, Immediately upon starting the timetable service. BUG: Misplaced scenery. A row of bent and floating hedges alongside the line.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z20 Barrow to Nottingham (17:08) LOCO: Class 20 RF LOCATION: Behind the train starting point at signal CE361, Immediately upon starting the timetable service. BUG: Inverted or corrupted section of railway tracks, in both directions.
Service 1S24 Leicester to Glasgow Central, 04.24, Carnforth to Carlisle derails without even moving. PS5.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z20 Barrow to Nottingham (17:08) LOCO: Class 20 RF LOCATION: Bridge 16 miles north of Preston, behind signal PN208 and yellow mile post 16. BUG: Both sides of track are missing a section OHLE conductor wire
Finally got the mastery to unlock today after it failed to track anything for a few days. One of the few masteries that is really worth unlocking, I spent a lot of time wandering up and down admiring the view. The coloured lights in Morecambe look great and reminded me of growing up near Torquay when it used to be a treat to go to the seafront and eat fish and chips while looking at the very similar lights. Really enjoying this DLC - Best one so far.
Just noticed a bug with the class 87. The game seems to think it has vacuum brakes, which makes it very difficult to drag any vacuum braked rolling stock. Example with a Fowler 4F: When the 87 is not coupled to the 4F, the vacuum hose is stowed as expected. When the 87 is coupled to the 4F, the vacuum hose seems like is trying to connect to something. This seems to happen with all vacuum braked rolling stock, not just the 4F, so I assume the issue is with the class 87.
XBOX Series S LOCATION: South end of Preston station, track adjacent to sidings. BUG: Section of missing OHLE contact wires above one track, and missing conductor wire on next gantry over.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z31 Cardiff to Hardendale Part 1 (12:22) LOCATION: Yellow mile post 15. Between Preston and Lancaster BUG: Long and completely detached stretch of OHLE conductor wire, floating in the air alongside gantries.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z31 Cardiff to Hardendale Part 1 (12:22) LOCATION: Around 8 miles North of Hardendale Quarry, heading towards Penrith. BUG: OHLE wire is cutting straight through the route indicator head of signal CE181.
If you spawn on foot and don't do anything, 0U03 Upperby Shunting at 08:30 is supposed to shunt coaches from one siding to another and couple up with more coaches ready for 5A40 to shunt them to Carlisle Station. If you spawn on foot 0U03 does not couple up.
6P39, the 21.39 Shap Quarry to Crewe leaves the quarry and instead of crossing over to the Up line, travels all the way to Oxenholme on the Down line. It was dark and I didn't notice until a mail train went past on my left!
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: 1Z31 Cardiff to Hardendale Part 1 (12:22) LOCATION: Field opposite signal CE164 between Hardendale and Penrith. BUG: Rock formation floating above the ground.
XBOX Series X TIMETABLE: 1Z31 Hardendale to Cardiff Part 1 (14:42) LOCO: All that can do the service LOCATION: Shap Summit BUG: meant to spawn in loco Infront of Harrendale sidings for the stone stratcher railtour, instead you spawn infront of the shap summit sign and after a minute the service heads to carilisle without you.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE: On Foot LOCATION: Preston WEATHER: Snow Storm / Light snow (tested with both). One problem with the new snow ground textures, is the point at where they end. It looks really jarring at stations that have a canopy roof, as you can see the split layers clearly. Is there a way they can be smoothed or blended together to reduce the effect?
A glitch in the matrix! I came across an interesting glitch while playing on PC, you need to have Blackpool for the Pacer to sub in. In timetable mode when selecting Class 142 --> Class 142 Provincial (1993+) 4 Car [Empty] --> destination 5P88 Carlisle to Kingsmoor Depot 8:51 service the game randomly pics what you should be driving. The timetable shows the service as a drive only, yet you may be given the option to be driver or conductor. If you don't get the option to be a driver or conductor you find yourself driving a full 2 car 101 to Kingsmoor.
Yesterday I was running services between Lancaster and Morecambe with a Class 142 ...... they were always full of passengers at the start, who gradually disappeared, without however getting off at the stations.
I think this is because the 4f is vacuum braked only. And the 87 is air brakes only. Towing the 4f will require the brakes on the 4f to be put into the released position.
I recently downloaded this DLC. I'm playing on a PS4 in timetable mode the only services I'm seeing are for the class 87? How do I get the class 47, 08, and 101 to show up. Also the additional services such as flying Scotsman, class 20 etc. I own many of the DLC items to add additional services. Why are they not showing up on my game? It's very frustrating as I really like the route but just having one type of motive power can get a little boring. Plus I'm more of a Steam and Diesel person vs. electric.
Upgrade to PS5 if you want to see them I'm afraid. Dovetail said prior to release that Gen 8 would only be able to display the 87 from this route, due to memory issues/lack of processing power.
Well seeing as buying a new console is not an option for me, I guess they just stole my money. Should have made that very apparent on the PlayStation store, I saw good reviews and went for it, but it's pretty lame to just have on locomotive and service. I feel very taken advantage of. If could get a refund I would total waste of money.
JT and DTG said for weeks that Gen8 would only get the 87 services. If you didn't pay attention that's on you.
They mention the different timetable on the store page and tell you where to find the details about it. They didn't steal your money. You didn't bother to check.
Do your research before posting and making yourself look stupid. They've said more than enough times that gen8 consoles will only get the 87 services. Your fault for not reading that.
OM12 is an odd service. It starts with the loco doing a hard stop. The 87's pan is down, and won't come up until you actually drive away. On the flip side, I love what feels like secret moves where you do a short movement and then return to free roam and find yourself doing another move. I know why it's the case (AI changing cabs), but I do enjoy them. Almost makes me want to go back to free roam at the end of every service to see what happens next!
This is what it says on the Preston-Carlisle Add-On guide " but there may be some small variances for players on 8th generation consoles". Doesn't really say you only get one loco. I saw the JT stream when they said gen 8 will only get the 87. But maybe not everyone caught that info.
Great route and I'm really enjoying it BUT I'm doing the First Generation Stopper scenario and am getting nothing from the AWS despite it being on when the scenario starts and turning it on when you change cabs being a required step. There's no bell for a green signal or horn for n opposing signal so I#m wondering if there's an issue with the scenario
are you sure you turned both switches on? There are 2 levers under the secondmans seat. One at the top is the change ends lever and the other is to turn on the AWS.
This route absolutely requires me to make extensive use of the save function. I need 3-4 sessions to make the complete run from Preston to Carlisle. So far it's worked OK, but I can't make other journeys until I finish the current one. We really need an expanded save feature which allows for multiple saves, like the one we had more than 20 years ago in MSTS.
PS5 console Class 87 ..... When the cabin lights are turned on, they also light up on the roof. For both cabins
