Hi all, so am I right that the HKAs for WCMLS are in National Power livery...even though they haven't been seen like that for years? I'm no wagon/freight expert, but if WCMLS is set in the present day, why are they in their mid-90s livery?
I believe in the article they stated this is to represent older wagons that never got repainted but are still in service. Whether or not such HKA wagons in older liveries really did make it to contemporary times, I couldn't say.
Hmm, I might pass on these...doesn't sit very well with the Avanti/LNWR liveries if they haven't been seen since 2019.

The HKA wagons on GWE are in DB livery so why didn't they just use those then? As far as I know there are no National Power HKA's, if somehow I've missed them I stand corrected. Presumably it cost them money to do work on the wagons and produce services and scenarios. If only there was a note on the store page suggesting up to a third are still in this livery.
Because if DTG released a £5 pack of DB livery HKA wagons, 6 years after they first released in GWE, the forums would explode with comments like... "DTG are scamming people with DLC I already own!!!!" "I'm not paying £5 for the same wagons. It should be free!!!!!" You wouldn't be able to move on the forums, without somebody having a mental breakdown about DTG charging for recycled content. So they had to use the National Power livery to keep the peace. It really doesn't cost DTG anything to knock together a paint job and a couple of scenarios.
Personally don't have an issue with the ex-NP HKAs, adds some colour and variations to AI for me and I'm all for it! If there's been some knocking about still in the last 5 years I'm happy to have it and appreciate it. If others are happy with the DB livery ones and don't want to pay for a reskin then it's optional.
I mean, they could have given us something a little bit better then re-skinned HKAs.. Probably something like the Caledonian Sleeper? or possibly a new Network Rail Train like a MPV or somthing? I rarely buy non-UK dlcs but I found the Christmas Train for San Benardio more interesting then some HKAs
Caledonian Sleeper would be pointless. You'd be driving 2 northbound and 1 southbound train between watford and euston.
Apparently it does still exist. In any case it adds a decent amount of extra freight. Making the Caledonian sleeper would have been new rolling stock DLC and not a gameplay pack.
