    Hi,

Today I would like to propose this route: York to blackpool north.

The route is approximately 80 miles long and serves 15 stations including terminus stations and takes approximately 2 hours 40 minutes.

The stations this route has are the following:

    York
    Church Fenton
    Garforth
    Leeds
    New pudsey
    Bradford interchange
    Halifax
    Hebden bridge
    Burnley Manchester road
    Accrington
    Blackburn
    Preston
    Kirkham and wesham
    Poulton le fylde
    Blackpool north

The route is mainly served by Northern class 195 diesel locos which are part of the civity family of locos by CAF.

These have a max speed of 100 miles per hour.

What makes this route interesting to me is that at Bradford the train driver must change ends to join another line. This will break up the gameplay a bit and provide I feel something unique.

And the same goes with from Blackpool north to York bound.

Additionally, what I like is how it mixes urban and rural life. Having travelled before on this route I can tell you it has some interesting sights such as disused buildings and infrastructure trackside which still stand.

Doubt it'd go from Preston to Blackpool North as we already have a route for that.

It could come in the form of a new timetable like seen on some routes e.g. San bernadino weekend but that would also require some changes to scenery so it would be questionable.

although, it would be nice to see Preston - Blackpool set in the modern era as a comparison of 40 years of progress now that the line has been electrified and the Burn Naze branch as closed completely

Might not be feasible - but OP, would the castleford line work in this suggestion too? I.e. York to Leeds via both options Castleford or Cross Gates, and then on to BPN? Not familiar with this route, so may have got the second via wrong.

Let me guess you are trying to make the calder Valley Line extended to meet the East Coast main line

I feel like Manchester Victoria and Preston - Leeds/York would be more feasible

Thank you. Perhaps I have then. I used the timetable for reference and also used Google maps

We already have Manchester Victoria - Leeds in NTP don't we though? Albeit an older era.

Do you mean as in its good to have routes in different eras?

If so, I don't disagree, but would hope DTG prioritised routes that are not yet in the game over routes that already are, but in a different era.

There are two lines between Manchester and Leeds, I mean the other one which is the Calder Valley Line which runs via Bradford Interchange
