Yeah its both... You earn points and get further in the game with this points you can acces higher levels and get more involved.

The problem with that is you would be restricting access to content to those who haven't progressed through the career, whereas at the moment all content is available immediately.
No this is a separate thing off course. Not as a main thing that you need first. The same like journey mode and scenarios
I doubt if it will be anything Christmas related unless they are going to release it tomorrow, the day of the announcement. No-one will want it after Christmas. My guess is a release date for the GWE update.
Correct its related to future things and GWE was already a thing in the reveals.. so no release date there.

Echoing JD's post - definitely a good read BTW, someone earlier said that Unreal Engine can't make games for phones and tablets, it can, might not be the same games but it can certainly build targets for phones and tablets. I think this has been a pretty good summary of the whole Season of Reveals! Everyone finds different things interesting; and it's been great to see different things appeal to different people.
I really can’t see it being anything like a normal route or loco DLC. They wouldn’t have singled it out as a special surprise reveal for that. It’s something out of the ordinary for sure.
