What!? Is it April the 1st? I can see this appealing to the kiddies but how many 6 year olds play TSW? I mean genuinely what the actual. This is trolling, right?
I'm semi in shock. Like what? I don't really like fictional stuff. Devastated it isn't a 91. Maybe it'll get some younger players involved? Idk
What a let down. I’d be interested to know how this meets the new route building criteria/if they ever focus group this stuff.
LOL - DTG just trolled the entire community for 20 days. Not something I want, but no doubt some will love it.
Well I wanted more steam, I guess I've kind of got it haha I imagine this could sell quite well, will certainly open up TSW to a younger audience.
Hang on, Thomas is a steam engine. Is steam fixed???? I don't like steam, but sure many players will be happy if it is
Part of me is pleased to see Thomas actually make it to TSW, and part of me finds the announcement hilarious! This is a good day.
It definitely was like watching England on penalties with the inevitable feeling of disappointment and thoughts of maybe next time. Good fun though and well played.
I have never written much in these forums but as a player since the very first train sim world with all the dlc, I can say that after this announcement I say goodbye to this game and this company, it seems like a real mockery to the players.
I mean technically it is steam? Whether this means they'll fix steam is another thing entirely. But it's Thomas the tank engine I'm expecting another stop and go steam engine so it's child friendly?
If that would mean that steam is now working properly and we get more steam engines in the future, it wouldn´t be that bad.
This is a great reminder that DTG is one of the most out of touch companies there is. Remember the glowing reviews for the Holiday Elf route, the previous fictional addition to TSW? Yeah, neither do I. Why would anyone think that a story-driven pack centered around a children's cartoon character would fit well into the allegedly realistic TSW is beyond me. I guess the thought process went something like "traaaaaains." What a joke. Edit: I can't wait to see all the embarrassing misspellings and bad grammar.
I’m sure some will love it and that’s great… I just wouldn’t market it as a big reveal. DTG definitely trolling at this point.
Not for me personally, but I think it's fantastic. Told you I'd have the pitchfork ready to join the mob.
This cannot be the big reveal, right? I turned off the stream when i saw Thomas, if this is the direction the game is taking this is a problem.. i told myself not to have any expectations of today but wow it couldn't've been any more disappointing than this.
How can an anyone fumble something this badly? They hype up this “grand reveal” thing for over a month just for it a be a silly little Thomas the tank engine add on? Why can’t they just listen to their community for once and give them what they want? Pathetic excuse for a dlc.
Completely agree. And all the time spent on this project is time that could be used on one of the many routes suggested by players.
Nobody is going to buy a DLC of literally the most famous train in the world?! I’d be very surprised if this doesn’t end being their biggest selling DLC by quite some margin.
I can't imagine Thomas will be any simpler than the steam locos already in TSW, the Holiday Express would have made sense to be simple to control but instead it was a reskinned F7.
I am pretty sure a lot of people will buy it if they market it well. I am also sure Mattel will use their marketing clout to get it out there in the right places.
DTG JD i am pretty sure I was the first person to guess close after your post to the correct answer with Thomas being steam powered if I wasn’t then I’m glad someone one
I doubt Mattel is going to market this - their focus with Thomas is with the pre-school market with All Engines Go, not the nostalgic fans this is almost certainly aimed at.
What is your guy’s thoughts on Thomas the Tank Engine coming to the WSR? Absolute let down in my opinion, could have been so much more…. (Even a Sodor route would have been less of a blow after all this anticipation)
I'd guess quite a few on their parents accounts... and more if they can get new kiddies in based on marketing tie-in. Surprised we haven't seen any Hogwarts Express yet.
