Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

This week's theme is: The Need for Speed
You can vote for next week's theme in the poll attached to this thread. What is your choice?

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?
You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Monday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    • In order to qualify for the competition, screenshots must be taken from products published by Dovetail Games that are currently on sale.
    Other Rules:
    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Monday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Monday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 1 week!
(Please Note since the new update which changes loading times we have decided to change it to 1 week)

Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:
    https://dovetailgames.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/

Note that by submitting an entry to this contest, you are consenting to us using your screenshot as a loading screen and showing it on our social media channels (such as Instagram)

I was really hoping for Industry but it became Need for speed.
When I looked on sunday the Industry was 1 point ahead but yesterday I saw this theme win :(

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Since the themes are being picked by people who don't enter, it's all a bit meaningless anyway.

It feels strange that there are more people who vote for the theme than join the contest.
I only join the contest when I find the theme interesting which I hoped Industry should be.

But guess I have to wait until next time it shows up and hope it will win.

Shame about the pantographs running thru the wires instead of under them

You are running an American Train on a UK Route. US Locos are Bigger in body size than UK trains

The US Routes have the Wires set at the correct height

I know that but what im saying is the pantograph going higher and lower due to the catenary height like how it is in Train Sim World should also be implemented on TSC

    That does not make sense.
It you put a USA loco on a European route the Pantograph will go thru the wires which are set at a fixed height
If you put as EU Electric on a US Route then the pantograph will not reach the wires which are set higher.
Same two locos as before - the US E60 pantograph touches the wires - the Class 87 pantograph does not.

Screenshot_New York to New Haven_40.90660--73.78999_10-32-09.jpg If you run the Amtrak loco in your picture on an American route - such as New York - New Haven the Panto just reaches the wires

What CJM is trying to achieve is the panto to reach the wires and then stop, just like in real life.
Change height even for tunnels and bridges.
TSC models in this sense seem to be static indeed.

Digging into the problem, I think the distinct lack of electric US options encourages players to use stock on routes from other continents. Pretty sure that there are 3rd party upgrades to the old NEC, but the Steam version is old and every other section is slow or short. The best you can do is mix it with the NJCL. TSC is more of a paradise for UK and German players. (And Dutch!)

The New York - New Haven is a more modern version of the NEC. North East Corridor is quite outdated by comparison.
The Albula line has Dynamic Pantographs but just, I think, on the Ge4/4III

NYC-Philadelphia section of the NEC desperately needs to be updated but it should take place during the beginning of the new millenium
