This is the master feedback thread for the Scenario Planner 2.0 in Train Sim World 4. Please Include: Issue Summary: Platform: Route Name: Loco Name: Step-by-Step Instructions: (+Bonus) Screenshots (+Bonus) Video Links Thank you!
Having issues on xbox series x. When you create a scenario that starts at a certain time and retrospectively change the start time, it continues to load at the original time you set when first creating the scenario. For example, you may decide to run a scenario which starts at 18:00 and then decide that you'd rather it start at 19:00. Even if you change the start time to 19:00, it will still load at 18:00.
There is an issue when completing your first service and performing a turnback, when changing cabs and starting the service it registers the platform on the opposite side of the train. For example playing Birmingham Cross City, I will run a service from redditch to Lichfield t valley then when I turn around to run back and arrive at lichfield city after turn back the platform is on the right hand side in direction of travel however I have to open the left hand side doors to complete the load passengers objective. This happens on all routes. I'm on series x.
Yes I have seen that too, most notably on East Coastway, and was told (by DTG) that even though it was claimed that routes like ECW were now being marketed as "TSW4 Compliant" this just meant that they ran on TSW4 and not that they had all the features you would get from a new TSW4 route. TBH I'm not sure what the advertising standards people would make of that? (Below is a photo from an ECW scenario with an AI train, that had reversed at Brighton, now stopping at London Rd).
I still haven't had 4 scenarios from GWE transfer across to Scenario Editor 2.0 (3 of which had already been uploaded to the Hub). Creators Club - 17:13 Prototype HST to London GWE (DJ) (dovetailgames.com) Creators Club - 20:23 CL387 Hayes to Paddington GWE (DJ) (dovetailgames.com) Creators Club - 12:03 NR HST to Maidenhead GWE (DJ) (dovetailgames.com) (The fourth being one that was still being tested and hadn't yet been uploaded as there was an issue with the Player terminating at Hayes and needing to open the doors on the non-platform side of the train despite there being no reversals involved). Also it would appear that WCL stock items aren't registering on the editing screen of Scenario Editor 2.0 properly. You can place the trains (CL150 or CL37) correctly and they will appear in the scenario at the correct time and place. However exit from the game and then go back in again and all reference to the choice of train in any services with WCL stock is lost. The trains ARE still actually there in the scenario but you can't tell that from the editing screen. Very annoying as you, naturally, think that something has gone wrong. Thanks. David.
Personally I'm pretty disappointed with Scenario Planner 2.0, it feels more like 1.5 to me. Stuff like finally being able to change the weather and chaining paths are great but it's not enough imo. I think most of us wanted the ability to select more platforms, place static consists, select specific start and end points etc. I was also very disappointed to see that scenarios are still limited to only 20 trains! That's simply not enough if you want to create a busy scenario like on ECML or BML and definitely needs to be increased, especially for Gen 9 players. To my understanding PC has no limit so why can't it be increased? A suggestion I have is that now we have free roam where you can spawn a loco anywhere and choose its path to anywhere on a route, why not implement that into Scenario Planner? You choose your train then select a start and end point with go via's just like in free roam and it offers so much more flexibility than the current system. You could also place static stock using this method as well it would be a much better system than the one we currently have which is so limiting and frustrating to use.
West Somerset Line - creating scenarios that require services to run into Minehead station. It would seem that, whatever path you choose and whatever platform you run in to, all arrivals at Minehead require the passenger doors to open on the wrong side of the train. (I created a simple scenario with only the player service in it starting at Dunster and ending at Minehead). Using the paths and platforms available there are 4 combinations (up/down, PL1 & PL2) with all 4 resulting in the same outcome which is that you can only complete the station stop by opening the doors on the wrong side of the train. I thought that this would be a TSW4 issue but, on creating the same scenario in TSW3 exactly the same thing happened. I am a PC user but I haven't really used WSR much so was surprised to see this error. (Note that there is also a recent thread on this in the Creators Club forum which is what triggered my experimentations). https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...s-a-bug-or-am-i-doing-something-stupid.75078/ Screenshot below.
Still getting 'gaps' in the description of player services in Scenario Editor 2.0 (see below). I am a PC Steam User and, this time, the gaps are related to "Fre11" a CL66 (Stobart livery) hauling JNAs and "Fre14" a CL377 (masquerading as a Postal emu). I presume this is related to the Livery bug? In both cases the formation is present in the scenario so I believe that it is just this screen this is wrong. Thanks, David.
Any editing of the weather in a scenario using the "Scenario Details" button never "sticks". The system accepts the changes, and lets me confirm them, but the 'changes' never appear in the next gaming session. (You can see the change in the same session but lose it in the next one?). David
Hello, I am encountering issues with Scenario Planner within Train Sim World 4, which is forcing me to not create scenarios for eventual release onto Creator's Club Issue Summary: Trains which are not included in the base routes' timetable not appearing in the Scenario Planner Platform: Xbox One S Route Name: Edinburgh-Glasgow (but happens on all routes) Loco Name: Class 158/0 EMT (but happens on any loco which is not included with the base route) Step-by-Step Instructions: Create a scenario on Edinburgh-Glasgow going from Edinburgh Waverley to Polmont Select the Class 158 as the train Save the scenario then quit the game Re-open the game Go into Scenario Planner on Edinburgh-Glasgow and the bug should be seen (+Bonus) Screenshots: 20231110_180055 by TrainGeek08 posted Nov 10, 2023 at 6:04 PM DTG Alex, can you pass this onto the team and hopefully the team do notice it because it is frustrating, and hopefully this gets fixed sooner rather than later, thanks in advance Quick question whilst I'm here: Is the above issue included in the Scenario Planner improvements section of the big list of questions you put in the 'November Roadmap Q&A Thread' and if it is not, can it be looked into please?
Unfortunately I have to 100% agree with TrainGeek08. Something is not right with Scenario Planner with TSW4 and hasn't been for sometime. (I am on PC - Steam). I experience exactly the same issues that he has explained above and, as Mr Geek has explained, it has effectively curtailed me from releasing any more scenarios on TSW4. However in addition to the problems explained above, I also have an on-going issue with the Weather and Scenario Planner. This has already been reported but there's no harm in reporting it again here. So please read below. Issue Summary: Customised Weather created in-game in Scenario Planner doesn't appear in later gaming sessions. Platform: PC Steam. Route Name: ECML) Loco Name: AZUMA (but this isn't relevant to what is happening) Step-by-Step Instructions: Create a scenario on ECML going from PBO to DON with customised weather in it. (Let's say SNOW). Select the AZUMA as the Player train and have just 1 AI service (also an AZUMA) heading south from PBO. Save the scenario then play it. There is snow on the ground and the increased clouds make everything gloomy. Exit the game. Re-open the game, Go into Scenario Planner and play the scenario again. The Scenario plays correctly but the weather is, presumably, DEFAULT CLEAR. (ie no snow on the ground). So the weather is different and, due to the change in cloud cover, the lighting is different. Open the Scenario up (Scenario Details) and the correct weather is still there....proving that it has been saved. There are no mods on my system at all so I can't see that this is a problem created by the user. Matt did kindly offer to have a quick look at this issue but was unsuccessful in diagnosing the problem. Could we please now have a Technical Response to what has happened please as I'm sure that we aren't the only people affected by this. Thank you.
Issue Summary: Cannot select custom liveries for any consists containing full TEAs (empties are fine). Platform: PC Steam. Route Name: Any (but tested on ECML and NTP). Loco Name: Class 47 / Class 40 and Class 45 Step-by-Step Instructions: Create a scenario on ECML. Create the player service and give it a formation containing empty TEA wagons. The selection screen then offered by the game looks like picture 1. (Starts, as expected, with a list of TEAs then locos). Play the scenario and the formation comes up correctly. Exit the game. Re-open the game, Go into Scenario Planner and Edit the scenario created above. This time select full TEA wagons (same formation as above but just full wagons). The selection screen offered by the game this time looks like picture 2. (Starts with the locos this time but no sign of any TEAs?) Play the scenario and the TEAs appear in default livery.
DTG Alex Is there any feedback at all from the team as a result of our earlier feedback? Thanks in advance
Why is there such a wall of silence about Scenario Editor? Do DTG wants us to continue to make scenarios or would you prefer that we only used Timetables? My latest Bug Submission to DTG (missing Formations in Scenario Editor) has just been replied with the following. "Thank you for reporting this. We understand that bugs are frustrating. We have added this to the list. Query closed". (Paraphrased for speed). Now, although I didn't expect my one report to result in an actual outcome, I did think that I'd get a more informative reply than this. For reference see a screenshot of a good example of the 'missing' formations issue below. View attachment 144137
the route preview is glitching out when i try to make a route from lustenau to lindau and back it just wont show the route fully oh and the ability to have standard ai train tracffict[option on the creation pop-up] would be nice[forgot to add the next section in] loco;any route; s-bahn vorarlberg steps to recreate; try to make a route from lustenau to lindau the route may not show i think if you try to make it so you have to drive back the same will happen but also only the route from lustenau to hard-fussach the rest is sorta cool idk how to describe the other bug that i saw but cvan happen on anystation combo i think and the route will not pop-up[white line] thats all i saw pretty much[with issues]
Portals - Is there any way to stop trains coupling to each other as they come out of a portal? At the moment this "bug?" means that you can't stack a series of similar trains in a portal because they will all come out as one long formation. (Today I saw a 24-car Aventra???). The screenshot below shows an Aventra coupled to a CL387. They were supposed to be 2 separate services leaving the portal 5 minutes apart. Can this be fixed or are you aware of any work-arounds? Thanks.
I have this condition on my 8th gen console where it continously crashes on scenario planner after creating 1 or 2 services. This happens in particular on the route GWR, London commuter and South eastern high speed
Suffragette line works perfectly fine and I love that route. However, this has become a bigger issue since downloading the latest game.
I hope that one day, it actually becomes a scenario planner. At the moment I dont use it, it takes time. Would be better if we could import existing timetables and just adjust it. Would be even better if we can include things like operational instructions like coupling/uncoupling, then forming a service, being able to do multiple turns as if there were line closures causing a shuttle service type thing and even being able to create faults and stuff out the ordinary. I pray for this
I hope that this does happen as at the moment it is full of glitches which need to be fixed instantly. The idea of scenario planner is revolutionary but it has not been incorporated very well
You can sort of do this already. Make your first scenario and take time to put as much AI in as you can. Then simply copy this scenario, rename it, start it 60 minutes (or whatever you want) later or earlier and then just change the departure times of the AI that is already present to match the new start time. Change the weather and change one or two formations and you have a new scenario for a fraction of the work. You can create a shuttle service by chaining 2 or 3 paths together on the player service. Then, when you arrive at your destination, you just change cab ends and off you go again. I'm not sure that you can call Scenario Planner "revolutionary" as it isn't anywhere near as functional as MSTS Activity Creator was over 20 years ago. Probably one of the poorest parts of TSW there is and not helped by route builders putting the absolute minimal effort possible in to creating paths. Which is why you can only use 50% of most routes. Now that is short sighted on the part of DTG.
I did try to do a shuttle service between Faversham and Sittingbourne, then tried Faversham to (cant remember the station the one between Sittingbourne & Rainham (newington) i think). But it wouldn't let me do it three times. Ill try again and get the exact details when I get a chance.
Just like to point out that, Scenario Planner in tsw5 or any TSW release that supports scenario planner, does not need a rework. People seem to think that because of the lack of stations, train paths that are present in said route but some are only available in scenario planner. My "Scenario Planner 2.0 (W.I.P)" mod aims to fix just that. If my mod gets very popular to the point that maybe DTG and i could begin talks into seeing whether it would be possible to port my mod to console players aswell which I'm down for any day of the week. My Scenario Planner 2.0 mod started out as a personal hobby but when i see tons of train skins on the creators club, i think to my self "what if i could fix the scenario planner that allows the player to select any station/platform & have portal access to choose from then, anyone (at least for now on pc) can recreate any given time period on any given route and have this into a mod package for train sim fans to download that to me sounds like a win-win situation." Scenario Planner as a whole though, is far more similar and quicker to create scenarios than it is in train sim classic. Since i started working on the scenario planner, i was quick to find the reason for the lack of stations/platforms to choose from in the menus of scenario planner and that is down to the fact of the process is simply time consuming, nether the less i will be maintaining it at least on the pc side of scenario planner.
ColeTheGamer2048 do you have a Youtube clip to show how your mod works? I would like to look at creating a timetable to a particular line from a period using available rolling stock/liveries to those operators using said line on their indented routing, including AI only that might not stop at any of the stations, similar to what certain modders have done to the WCML. Is this possible with your mod or you'll need to go to PC editor for that? ie eurostar livery Ice units as AI only to intergrate onto the SEHS line from ST Pancras to give that added immersion to the line
please give us an option to control door closing on passenger local trains. For example, on Newark NJ to Trenton NJ the default is too slow but driver is locked in to fixed times for doors open. Let us control our own scenarios, svp.
