So I noticed while doing some quickdriving on Phorum Peninsula that if you use the 1938 stock, the AI will too. But if you use anything else, it will use Southeastern Class 375's (from Chatham Mainline I think). My question is:
    - Is it intentional?
    - If so, does this make Phorum Peninsula being part of the SE network cannon?
    - So that would mean that all the London Transport stock is just for railtours?

Technically from the Class 375 additional livery pack (which was made by myself mostly in my own time, still a DTG pack of course - but the pack was included in the Chatham route (admittedly from me asking) - If i remember correctly - i added the fictional routes to it (I think the workshop versions of the Heritage route are also included? ) - for them to appear in other places too for more AI.

(I think it was intentional - but it was a while ago when i did that pack :), but i think the quick drive routes were also copied into the chatham versions or vice versa too ). So officially from DTG - No, from me - wanting the 375s to appear elsewhere :)

Nice. Thanks for the answer. I'll take that as SE being the cannon operator of the route outside of the railtour season. When you think about it, those 1938 stock units would've gotten tired really quick with those intense gradients, if they ran all day every day. 20250102235743_1.jpg

Hahahaaa. I mean in terms of lore. Stuff that is canon is the stuff that is officially accepted as being accurate to that world. For example, in a game that has multiple endings, sometimes one of the endings is considered as "canon" -> it's the "real" the ending.

In Phorum's case, which is a ficitonal place, we know that it has heritage London Transport stock running around. However it is connected to the mainland at St. Paul, the mainland being double tracks with 3rd rail electrification. The 4th rail, used for the Underground stock ends at St. Paul. Also since the stations are Network Southeast branded, it is old NSE territory. So that means that the line is now most likely used by either Southeastern or Southern. Could've also been SouthWestern but imo that's less likely. However, since no normal stock is included or seen on the line in the default pack, you could say that Southern runs the normal passenger operations around the Peninsula and run Southern Class 377's. There is nothing saying that it's wrong. However, with the Southeastern Class 375's spawning in Quick Drive, an argument can be made that Southeastern is the "canon" operator of Phorum Peninsula, as in it is accurate to the Phorum universe.

This is of course purely subjective. I highly doubt DTG had any "lore" considerations while upgrading the route to its current version. As Danny said the fact that the 375's are seen in QD isn't even DTG's decision. But I think it's a fun idea. I want to make a scenario where you run a regular commuter Class 375 on Phorum during the heritage season, so you see both Southeastern trains and old LT stock running around at once. I did something similar with the North Sommerset Railway.

You can operate the peninsula's defences if you so wish

I mean it's only NSE because no one would make signs for me when i did the updates, i had the task of updating with limited assets being created - I think one or two stations were added compared to the original route? (so i "borrowed" them from my fictional route from years ago but i didn't name the stations)

Although the Canon vs Cannon - always fun because it's something that always appears in sci fi - more notably the newer star trek shows - (Mostly Discovery here) and lots of people misspell it :D

Edit - i believe the Dem data was set here on this island off weymouth? ( I mean SWT / SWR would probably be more fitting considering) - https://maps.app.goo.gl/SLp4AuTNdVPrafJA8

50.5481849,-2.4478343 (if link above doesn't work, i didn't do the original but was the one that updated it - without much in the way of "new assets" at the time)

No idea what you are talking about
Maybe it is something that some gamers use.
    Never heard the phrase before

Canon is usually more TV shows, star trek for example TV shows / Movies are "canon" (as in they are part of the star trek universe and are official) - Games / Books and anything else is "non canon" - meaning not part of the show generally (it's more complex).

I mean I'm not disputing that - I mean there was some bias from me in that Network Southeast was the chosen one (I love NSE :P )
