Hello everyone, Here’s a suggestion for a new route that I believe would be a perfect addition to Train Sim World: The Moselle Line from Trier to Koblenz. This route offers a stunning combination of breathtaking landscapes, historical landmarks, and exciting operational challenges. Why the Trier – Koblenz Route? The Moselle Line connects Germany’s oldest city, Trier, with the well-known city of Koblenz, where the Moselle meets the Rhine. It is famous for its picturesque views along the Moselle River, with vineyards, historical stations, and impressive bridges. A key highlight of the route is Germany’s first double-deck bridge in Bullay, which carries both rail and road traffic. The route is ideal for players who enjoy a mix of regional, long-distance, and freight services, offering a diverse and immersive experience. Key Route Features: Stunning landscapes with views of the Moselle River and its vineyards. Historical stations such as Cochem, Bullay, and Kobern-Gondorf. Numerous tunnels and viaducts that define the Moselle region’s profile. Engaging operations with varied signaling systems and curvy sections. Proposed Rolling Stock: DB BR 429 (SÜWEX): A modern Flirt 3 EMU, the flagship for regional express services between Koblenz and Trier. DB BR 442 (Talent 2): Commonly used for regional services along the route. DB BR 425/426: A classic commuter train for regional connections. DB BR 185, BR 151, and BR 189: For freight traffic, which plays a significant role on this route. DB BR 101: Iconic Intercity trains for long-distance passenger services. Stadler KISS CFL RE Optional DLC Locomotives: DB BR 140 or BR 150: For historic freight operations. DB BR 628: For nostalgic regional services. Why Does This Route Fit TSW? The Moselle Line is one of Germany’s most scenic railway routes and provides a comprehensive gameplay experience through its varied track layout and mix of regional, long-distance, and freight traffic. The route challenges players with tight curves, changing speed limits, and interesting signaling systems. It would be a fantastic addition to TSW, appealing to both newcomers and experienced players. Summary: With its combination of modern technology, historical landmarks, and the unique scenery along the Moselle, the Trier – Koblenz route is a dream for any rail enthusiast. I’d love to see this route brought to life in Train Sim World and am eager to hear your thoughts! Extra: There is a separate route from Bullay to Traben-Trarbach that runs entirely along the Moselle. It is short but scenically stunning and could be a great addition as a DLC. A special feature of the route is the Pünderich viaduct, where arches are located beneath the tracks, blending harmoniously into the landscape. This architectural highlight makes the route even more unique. Here is a video of the track EDIT: The route was also available in Train Simulator Classic 2024.
if this route ever got added it should also have an timetable service for the BR103 bc it did ran on that line in real life for tours just like what we have rn with frankfurt fulda and the br143 can also layer for playable services with the dostos and the br101 and ice 3 would only be ai for the Rheinstrecke and koln services at koblenz and the 406 never ran in rl over koblenz as far as ik oyea and dont forget that there is also stadler kiss emus which run services from koln to luxembourg via koblenz and trier and these trains are used for RE services on the moselstrecke line
