This Month's Case Study: (TG08) GBRf '66301' (66) We chat to the OP of this thread, TrainGeek08 to talk about the livery (below) '(TG08) GBRf '66301' (66)' that will release on Sunday . This is your first UK livery of the year, why did you pick a GBRf livery for the 66? TrainGeek08: "Well, I knew how well 66789 and 66708 did last year (1st and 5th best liveries respectively), so I know that you all would appreciate me making another one in the hope of this one receiving a similar reception to the other two." How long did you spend making this livery? TG08: "I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes making this livery, so I could get every detail correct on this special livery." Which is your favourite GBRf livery out of the three you have made so far? TG08: "Definitely 66789! I absolutely love that livery, it looks so perfect and spot-on to the real-life locomotive, which is why it did so well last year." Is there any more GBRf liveries planned this year? TG08: "Erm... I cannot say if there will be, but watch this space in the coming months..." How well do you think this livery will do in comparison to your other GBRf liveries? TG08: "I think that it will do better (over time) than 66708, however it will not do better than 66789 because of how perfect that livery is." Did you encounter any challenges whilst making this livery? TG08: "Yes, I did. I struggled with making the 50 years crest, which took me a few attempts to get right, however that patience paid off, and I did well on it in my opinion." Thanks to TrainGeek08 for taking the time to answer those burning questions for us . Railfan Location Reveal: In this new segment, I will announce the location of where my railfan scenario will take place each month following great feedback on the potential of me doing railfan-style scenarios. February's Location is... ...Hayes & Harlington! Since nobody got it right, I have some explaining to do... Here's the clues again: - It is located on a mainline heading West, - It is near an airport, - You may find Aventra's here, - This station's name is made up of a Southeastern station in London and a Thameslink station in Bedfordshire. Answers: (they are all in spoilers in case you don't want to know) Spoiler: Clue 1 Answer Located on the Great Western Main Line Spoiler: Clue 2 Answer Located near to Heathrow Airport Spoiler: Clue 3 Answer Class 345's are part of the Aventra family of trains Spoiler: Clue 4 Answer There is a Southeastern station in London called Hayes and there is a Thameslink station on the MML in Bedfordshire called Harlington, so it makes... Hayes & Harlington! TrainGeek08: "From what I've seen in testing, the scenario works really well with constant action from trains coming to/from London Paddington/Abbey Wood. The scenario plays for 15 minutes so pick your spot and take some pictures. More will be revealed soon... Conclusion: Anyway, this is it then, hope you enjoyed this one, put your thoughts below, from me, TrainGeek08, I'll see you soon for another CC release announcement, enjoy the rest of your day and goodbye . Release date changes: N/A
When you guessed SEHS, I was so tempted to tell you that you were completely wrong and would've said "try GWE possibly " in the hope it would have got you on the right track .
Oh fairs, it is only 1 scenario unless that scenario hits 100 subscribers on CC, then I release a longer version .
I mean you could have just gone through the list of stations on GWE and you would've eventually got to Hayes and Harlington but that's not the point of guessing . Fair play for giving it a go though, Rainham could have worked well as could have tomtrainboi#1289's guesses of Gillingham or Gravesend for a SEHS scenario .
Yeah, I know what you meant by two different stations . Maybe I should think about that with stations containing 'and' in their name for future so people do not get confused .
