will we ever see the ICE T and flixtrain vectron being layered onto the kassel wurzburg highspeed line?. bc currently the ice T now layers onto both dresden riesa and koln aachen and the flixtrain layering also on koln aachen and these 2 trains run over that highspeedline in real life
probably not, DTG chooses the "use free roam" response instead of adding to older timetables. That said, Koln - Aachen is getting a new timetable at some point in the future.
I've noticed this increasingly with freeroam. It's a good stop gap while new timetables are developed, but I very much hope it isn't just used as a cop out by DTG for updating the timetable with new era-appropriate layered stock.
DTG have seldom upgraded old timetables when new stock is released. When timetable upgrades to happen, they are usually tied to a larger update to the route (exceptions being Joe's personal projects). This is simply how DTG operated even before Free Roam. We can only hope - although I was unaware that Dresden was getting the ICE-T
I have stopped using Free Roam almost completely once I noticed how buggy it can get... like, for example, the neutral section functionality (like if you forget to open MCB, it should trip open and lock throttle as well) doesnt work properly in Free Roam, when speaking about German/Austrian locos - if you drive the same locos/trains in Timetable mode, they work on routes they are supposed to, but lets say Vectron only works in this way if you have Austria selected, and one or two other locos also work ok... but otherwise this is bugged
it only got ICE-T as part of BR 101 Expert timetable... meaning, you have to own BR 101 Expert DLC, and in Timetable mode, you have to select the Expert timetable, where BR 406 is replaced with BR 411... personally, while it is enjoyable cos Dresden Riesa is great, I was kinda disappointed that ICE-T doesnt tilt as much here (maybe cos there is no GNT on this route? dunno)
Yeah, but what I mean is I hope that now we have Free Roam, timetable upgrades don't decrease further if that makes sense. Maybe they won't, given GWE remaster was announced likely after they knew free roam was coming. I love timetable updates - they kind of give you a chance to reexplore the route.
Yeah I had a similar concern with unbranded stock, but I'm genuinely convinced that DTG won't start slacking soon.
I think unbranded stock is also a good stop gap while we don't have a route that would warrant the creation/adaption of a loco to match the exact thing. However, if we did ever get the relevant route and loco, I would hope that it's set up in a way such that the branded version can sub in for the unbranded version.
does the expert br101 even have its own timetable on kassel wurzburg or does it laye ronto the original timetable to replace ic services of the older br101?
the expert 101 and regular 101 are not able to substitute into each other because of the cab car. There are separate timetables in each the routes the expert 101 runs on
ah alr but if dtg could just add the ice t and flixtrain services to the expert br101 timetable then it would make kassel wurzburg more alive and ofc they already did it with the expert br101 timetable on dresden riesa so they can pull this off again
