Hello! I am suggesting the Long Island Railroad Babylon branch extension as part of the LIRR commuter. This is the busiest branch and would be an amazing extension!

LIRR with mandatory safety systems a no go for me. Tried a few runs on the reissued route, totally frustrating and now removed from my collection. So from a customer perspective, this would not be on my radar unless the train operator relents. Which is unlikely.

MTA is not likely to relent they have no problem partnering but a lot of stuff has to be changed/altered basically dumbed down-LIRR Employee

for me thats a positive, for once I dont have to go switch/button hunting :D ... and the systems are implemented much better than on original LIRR or Harlem Line :)

Not to be rude or anything but I think the majority prefers having the safety systems... We like the sense of immersion

Issue is it being mandatory if it was on by default and able to be switched off it be better then having it forced on all the time.

Generally I do drive with safety systems on either AWS on UK traction or the PZB/LZB on the German stuff. However the LIRR system is very invasive, unlike PZB it doesn’t even give you a chance to react and slow down after popping up a speed reduction. It means you spend most of your time watching the ATS/ACSES panel rather than enjoying the drive.

it gives you a couple secs... I watch the track, when I hear beep inferno, I acknowledge and get to work... so I rarely get caught off guard... but yeah... with ATC reduction it is simple, with ACSES you gotta act quickly but yeah

What i always wonder is why the guys who designed acses didn't include a soundwarning when the speed starts dropping.
It always sneaks up on you.

implementations of ACSES differ - on NEC and MBTA they do that gradual decrease, but on Harlem and here it can happen "suddenly", which where you have to acknowledge and get brakes applied until you get below limit... so yeah it can make you jump out of your chair, but it aint so bad

Can't see LIRR getting any more expansions or getting any new loco packs because of MTA security have made default for dtg to make copies reson why safety systems are on
