Tsw4 Or Tsw5 Pc Editor

TSW5 game installed. Does the TSW4 editor need to install the TSW4 game itself? (for some reason the TSW5 editor doesn't work well yet)

 

For TSW5, you will need to get the TSW5 PC Editor.

For TSW4, you will need to get the TSW4 PC Editor (not quite sure if this one is even available to acquire still / cannot find it on Epic Games Store anymore).

You cannot use the TSW4 PC Editor with TSW5 and the TSW5 PC Editor with TSW4.

Also, in the case you have all of those 4 installed and use all of them frequently (for whatever reasons - I do that as well), you need to previously launch the respective game once (and exit it) before going into the related Editor.

I do not quite understand this question. The TSW4 Editor cannot install TSW4. You have to do that via the distribution platform you're acquired TSW4 on (Steam, Epic Games).

But as said above, the TSW4 Editor requires TSW4 to be installed, yes.

 

TSW5 Editor is the only current editor, if you've never downloaded the TSW4 Editor you'll not be able to get it anymore.

 

Thanks for the answers! Is the TSW5 PC editor for TSW5 as stable as the TSW4 PC editor (for TSW4)?
I have previously used the TSW4 editor with TSW4 without any problems. However, the TSW5 PC editor with TSW5 does not seem to be stable (yet). What do you think?

 

IIRC short after the release of TSW5, the TSW5 PC Editor had some problems crashing/or not loading properly but now it seems to be fine.

Overall, the TSW5 PC Editor is a big enhancement to the TSW4 PC Editor, because of the added cooking functionality and the fix for the annoying bug which caused files to disappear/not show up in Content Browsers in the TSW4 PC Editor.

There is also a new mod manager planned/in development for the TSW5 PC Editor, as announced in yesterday's February 2025 roadmap article for it.



It appears to be more stable than the TSW4 Editor for me.

Not true , TSW4 pc editor is still downloadable from Epic store , it requires TSW4 to be installed before use , TSW4 editor only "looks" for TSW4 game and not 5

 

Only if you've downloaded it before, searching for it in the store won't show you anything anymore.

Yes that's what I'm saying, if you did not download TSW4 Editor before the TSW5 Editor came out then there's no easy way to get TSW4 Editor.

 

Just create an epic account , only an need email to sign up

 

The TSW4 PC Editor is downloadble for us because we acquired and downloaded it when it were available to be acquired (TSW4 times).
But now it is not available to be acquired for the first time anymore (as it has no store page).

This is a big difference and what we mean.

Even TSW4 (the game itself) is not available to be acquired anymore, although in comparison to the TSW4 PC Editor still having a store page.

And this makes no difference whether being logged in with your Epic Games account or not. The store page for the TSW4 PC Editor does not exist anymore, even if I can still download it through my Epic Games library.

 

i didn't know that, as its already in my library I download it from there.
