This thread is for everything that people would like to see in the future, not updates for current routes. The things I want is big american steam, (N&W, PRR, C&O, B&O, UP, SP, etc,) Older diesels, (Baldwin, alco, emd 1st and 2nd) narrow gauge routes, shays and climaxes, Classic routes like: Saluda, UP Solider summit, Marion ohios diamond (i forget the name of the subdivision as of right now) This also goes for other countries!
I would like to see updates and, at a push, extensions to some routes. Many current routes lack their full potential. A few off the top of my head: East Coastway could do with updates to scenery and inclusion of TOD4, London Victoria - Eastbourne/Ore services and possibly extending to Wivelsfield and/or Ore. ECML could do with extending to York for a more suitable end point (or even the branch to Lincoln - possibly both), plus another main train (ie IC225) besides the Azuma. WCML South needs an extension (which to all extents and purposes is unlikely) as the Pendolino doesn't have a good stretch. There are also missing services which are needed to realise the routes full potential. Brighton Main Line needs scenery and TOD4 updates, add in the 377/2 for the Milton Keynes services, fixing the missing track at Reigate (and update that area altogether), and the inclusion of Norwood Junction (the station exists but has not been modelled) and the Coulsdon Town branch. A lot of features for newer routes, such as Conductor Mode, could also be added to these older routes where appropriate. Maybe set some current routes in a different era, revisit the Steam era (plus fixes to the physics plus being able to consume coal and water).

Wishlist would be SWR Waterloo to Portsmouth (maybe including new line via cobham but thats a big ask) c2c, via basildon, but having both would be cool. Start of the electrostar and start of the aventra would be nice to see. GWR, reading to gatwick wouldn't go amiss
Honestly, would of loved WCML South to go to Birmingham New Street as I have said tones of times lol. Look at JT's route is 79 miles 33 miles less than a Euston to BNS route. Probs be more with the amount of track but it proves if you put time into optimisation and the route, scenery it will get a really good reception on its release, also lets say in the future they were going to do such a big route they would need to ensure Saving will actually work and not bug the route when going back onto it and having save slots, should be pretty possible. London Euston to Birmingham New Street really should happen, Drop Gen 8 ofc for it. (Apologies if I have ever repeated myself) But it would be the best immersion route this game could ever have as you have the 350 runs to Northampton and BNS. and runs to International etc so much. I ain't no dev but I assume such a big route could be possible?
I would be very interested in any UK route but please can we have something that involves Paisley maybe using the ScotRail Class 158
You mean to milton keynes because there's no euston to bns in tsw. Remember jt's route has much less stations and complexity compared to wcmls. They are both different in many ways. Plus being a 3rd paarty means they can spend however long they want early. And it's really complex to make. It's not just a mileage. It's everything in that. All the stations, scenery, signals, track, etc. That's a lot of work. Add in any curves or gradients and that becomes even bigger.
Right, I clearly know that there is no Euston to BHM route. So no need to get like that. Yes I never said it was easy and I know there is so much to go into a route even a small route. None of it is easy at all. Even if it's a one time thing or JT and DTG can combine. What I am trying to say it be nice to have a fully immersive route such as the one I suggested. You never know They could extend it from MKC to BHM in the future (never say never) yes low chance and it is route for it to happen. Yes lots of track then the Northampton Loop etc but just think of the reception it would get. Fed up of waiting for JT to release really good and long routes for a High speed service. 1hour and 5 to hour and half journey for Class 87 and also other services is what the high speed fans of been wanting for awhile. Yes we got ECML but that is barely immersive, SEHS is great but high speed part not long enough. Also as said before, Class 390 one of the most requested trains, only gets a 30/35 minutes run. Do you understand where I am coming from?
My wishlist of things I'd like to see for TSW are, Routes - Metro North Commuter - Hudson Line (New York to Poughkeepsie) - Metro North Commuter - New Haven Line New York to New Haven(includes New Canaan/Danbury/Waterbury Branches) - Metro North Commuter - Harlem Line (revamp and extension to Southeast) - NJT Bergen/Main Line - Hoboken to Port Jervis - Amtrak Pacific Surfliner - Caltrain Commuter (revamp of the current route, with extension to Gilroy) - Staten Island Railway - TSW: Miami-West Palm Beach Equipment - Metro North P32AC-DM - Metro North BL20GH - Metro North GP35-R - Metro North/CDOT Shoreliners I-IV - Metro North M8 - NJT ALP45DP - NJT-GP40PH2 - Metro North F40PH-3C - Metro North/NJT Comet V - NJT Arrow III - Amtrak F59PHI - Amtrak Pacific Surfliner - Amtrak Amfleet II - Amtrak ALC-42 - Amtrak P42DC - SIR R44 - SIR R211S - Brightliner Siemens Charger/Venture Trainset
No new editions every year that force you to have re-download all your DLC, wasting up to a day. Just upgrade the game in patches as you go along and then you can spend more time making sure new routes are not full of bugs when released.
Fix the save game and more slots. Fix the awful sound glitching. Option to disable adaptive eye. More graphics options generally. Bridge rumble for trains passing over structures. Oh and did I mention... fix the save game.
dtg already did say removing eye adaptation messes up the whole lighting system and one of the users did prove that. So I don't think that will either be fixed unless they go back to the old lighting system
Source? And in any event it’s still for DTG to solve, having gone down this road. There’s an old saying in business, bit of a cliche really, which goes “I want to hear solutions, not problems.” Or, indeed, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.” Perhaps if the senior TSW management were to adopt a bit more of that rather than fireside chat style, we would see some progress!
Most of them have already been mentioned. Dlss/fsr. Option to spawn to trains on the map. No more partial routes. No more routes with the majority of trains missing.
Great Suggestions. Dovetail just annouced in yesterday's roadmap is that the Caltrain license is expiring that the Caltrain dlc is going to be gone soon.
If I boil down my wishlist for TSW to the stuff I really, REALLY want, things which are not just "nice to have" but essential to enjoy the game, I would note the following: Better quality control Every route I'm using has got its issues, some more of them, some less. Many of those issues have been apparent from day one, i.e. on my first run along the route I noticed something so obvious that I thought "Why didn't they fix THIS before release?" or "How come no one noticed THIS during testing?". This can be anything from environmental stuff to crazy signalling, weird train behaviour, passenger glitches and so on. Less focus on some self-inflicted deadline or getting as many routes out there as possible. Instead more focus on delivering pretty much perfect routes, that would be amazing! The competition on the rail sim market is growing, and one way to have a leg-up on those rivals would be delivering the highest quality of product. Let TSW be the premium rail sim Better care for existing content Once a route is released, it mostly gets one or two patches to plug the biggest holes and then is basically being forgotten about by DTG. At least that's how it comes across. A good way to increase the value of an older route would be looking into it every now and then, and fixing some long overdue bugs or freshen it up a bit... new assets, new lighting, new features perhaps... just to keep the route relevant. I'd happily skip one or two new routes per year, if an older route would get a rejuvenation or at least some TLC instead Better passenger behaviour That's a more specific issue which continues to bug me royally, on pretty much any route. A while ago I already made a whole thread about this in the suggestions forum, but nothing has changed since then. If anything, it has gotten worse. Passengers on the platforms just don't behave in any realistic manner. Very often this odd behaviour is causing delays... yes, it's true, odd passenger behaviour is one of the main reasons for delays in real life, but in TSW it's for all the wrong reasons. The thread I linked above sums it up pretty well I think. In an age where AI is so crazy advanced, it shouldn't be impossible to infuse some realistic behaviour into those passengers Regardless of all issues, I'm still looking on TSW's future with optimism and hope
If you have arrived early at your destination, remove the need to sit and wait until the nominated schedule time. Had this yesterday doing the Class 33 Railtour on Goblin. Arrived about 4 minutes early into Barking, then the message popped up, “Wait until 1150” or whatever the time was. When that completed I then had to wait a further 30 seconds for the run to complete. I don’t know if it was ever fixed, but apparently one of the freight runs on ECML has you arriving about half an hour early at the destination if you run at maximum permitted speed, then forces you to sit and wait time. I’ve arrived at the destination. Let the run finish.
Also, if running late, don't wait the allocated waiting time. If you're stop is 30 seconds, and you're a few minutes late, you would leave as soon as possible rather than wait that 3 seconds.
Have often thought that. You should monitor the passenger loading and as soon as activity around the doors has finished, close up and off we jolly well go!
You can just shut the doors and set off. It will move onto the next task once the countdown finishes. Unless it's a rivet route and you are held at a signal.
As long as you know the route and what stations you are calling at, ive not had a problem. Sometimes I arrive at the next station before the previous task has finished. Routes I'm unfamiliar with I have to slow down a bit so I know if I have to stop or not.
A 30 second stop is a 30 second stop even if you're running late. The timer doesn't go any faster if you're late, unless it's shorter than the dwell time anyway.
Just a Deltic or HST Valenta. It’s nearly 7 years since TSW was released, how has this not materialised?. Dlc £20? £30?, who cares, just someone do it and take my money please!
Thing's I would like to see in Train Sim World is In train and station annoucements, NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line from Bayhead-New York-Hoboken, and more Steam Loco routes and engines for TSW.
