dirt decals. I think adding 2 to 3 dirt decals for the trains and wagons would be a very good idea. Because this would make it easier for us to create dirt effects and it’s also a few things that ask a lot.
Of course, instead of asking what decals we wanted adding (it stood to reason the vast majority would be asking for past/present branding, to make reskinning easier), what you could've sought was the strength of opinion on permitting players to import their own graphics to Livery Designer; either directly or via the PC Editor.
Just alow us to make our own decals (vector graphics) in Inkskape, with a maximum size of 15kB and then alow us to upload/share them so we can use them in the livery editor. Just like in Grand Turismo 7.
I have some locomotive suggestions and also rail car suggestions BNSF ET44ACH BNSF ET44C4 UNION PACIFIC SD70MAC CSX SD40-3 BNSF SD70ACU CANADIAN PACIFIC ET44AC BCOL C44-9W STEAL COIL CARS 80FT BOX CAR CANADIAN NATIONAL SD80MAC UNION PACIFIC SD90MAC I know it’s a lot but I want to try to see all of these between TSW5 and TSW15 is there is one, I know some railways don’t run these locomotives anymore but it would still be nice to see them. What are your opinions?
Adding Swedish comapanies such as SJ, Green cargo, TÅGAB, Västtåg and SL would be realy usefull in the Swedish TSW community for custom-made liveries, As of rigth now ill find the SJ logo really painful to make and it would be extreamly easier if they got added as a Sticker
Maybe some Lightning Bolts for like CSX builds for the AC traction bolt. Technically not copyrighted or licensed
Hello Mr. Alex, I am a player of Duole Tang in China. I really hope that the production team of Duole Tang can develop a first line German railway line (Cologne Frankfurt Airport) ✈️ - The high-speed railway at Frankfurt Central Station has a total duration of over 2 hours, which is the same as the Kassel W ü rzburg line
Network Southeast branding (while yes it's licensed, you just need to request to use it no payment, the society is very nice)
Definitely the British Railways crest as seen on Flying Scotsman which is already in the game so shouldn’t have any licensing issues.
My route would be either Waterloo to Shepperton or Waterloo to Waterloo via strawberry(around the houses).
or maybe some window decals or window graphics onto the trains it can even be a new feature in the tsw5 livery designer
I would love me some OBB decals, both current logo and the old classic one... maybe even Wiener Lokalbahnen - they do mostly cargo, I believe... maybe some ELL and Budamar decals for German/Austrian freight
If your not aware you gain a few in the Mastery category. I think it’s Two routes actually. I know one is Sand Patch Grade. Not sure if the other but there are a few signs such as explosive ones.
Not sure if this is relevant to decals but having an way to measure or line up would help. Such as the 3 point measure values. Also I better simple decal for weathering. There are a number of different types of weathering decals but these are gained from the mastery rewards. Weathering can be very effective but can add additional problems due to using so many up. This can be assessed tho when planning work out. Ie decals needed for the task. Ie not much to do with numbers or logos etc so have plenty of decals left. But doing a more intensive complex design that demands higher volumes of decals leave nothing left for weathering. I am fully aware of the shading decals but regardless of if they are used as fading colours or used to weather a livery they just don’t work. Not in the light anyway. So I feel it would be adventurous (Edit) to improve these decals for ease of use and application as not everyone has the DLCs in order to get the Mastery Decals. Also could they be a way to change colours as a group set. And if you have a number of groups that a user wants to combine do this without ungrouping. It can be very tedious and more so if you have a complex groups with say 370 decals that one decal refuses to group. This I’m sure you can understand as all the hard work is undone because the group will not group as intended. Thus adding unnecessary stress and time to something that should take a few sec or a minute at most. As I say not sure if it’s relevant to adding decals. For I feel we can improve a few more things not only on the decal front but on making the whole process easier when editing.
Just looking at this Logos. As per there are designs for cost and ease of application in real world. So to do these logos wouldn’t take much. But here is where I fully support such decals. Why?, because they can be made but down size them will cause the logo to look scruffy in places. I hate that to be honest especially on very complex designs. The detail can be lost if sized down. Plus not only that, something that is really needed in this game is a save library. If we don’t have access to simple logos or complex works like the Lion and Wheel logo as an example means we have to make over and over if swapping from different classes. But if we had the logos that would not be an issue, there for if a logo isn’t available and we have to make them ourselves then at least give us the option to save logos to a library. Doing this not would help others that could use all the decal that would be lost on replicating on more areas of detail, but would help younger users who to would like to replicate their favourite loco but may feel put off using livery editor due to skill limitations. I think all round it would benefit current users and newer users not to mention DTG if the change seen an increase in user’s numbers. Even possible sales of certain products as the newer members build their collection up. Would the good nature of these companies see that as much as it’s about money and licensing fees which DTG would have to pass on to us the consumer, it’s also about preserving their logos and brands as intend for true rail enthusiasts to users without harming these companies identities. We see what the operators have allowed and we shall respect them and there Rights and Trademarks. Anyone seen as doing so, as I know I’ve fallen fowl of altering work and been heavily reprimanded for that. TSW T&Cs. So if anyone was to doing anything detrimental to a brand does get blocked or banned naturally by the in place. Right I do apologise for what seems a lot for so much little. But yes I’d love (Edit) to have set decal logos after 6 years grafting with only 300 decals available in the first few years. Now,,where’s my Rock?
I’ve been making these for Railway 200, but I have altered its design some what for the appearance I was looking for. This is why they have not been publicly available on CC as I’m currently working towards getting the okay from the logos owners. You maybe interested in Railway 200 website as there are PDF files with all the necessary Logos etc free to use under there T&C on use of its TM. Here what I’ve been upto. Made by hand on PS5. TSLP.
I’ll agree to that. Good idea, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I could do with something like that for something I’m working on now. Hope the Devs see your idea. Finger crossed they do.
I don’t know if it’s my place to say this but it maybe a possibility soon. I’m on it don’t worry. If you would like to check out the Rail 200 Prep/ ideas you may get some idea of what I’m (edit) trying to do. But again it’s not my place and why I’m trying to speak to the appropriate companies that may be the one that can allow access to Railway 200 logo on a DTG game. It’s to do with licensing etc from a company perspective. I’m not the company. It’s up to the ones with the rights of ownership of the TM, and obviously DTG. I can’t speak for them on either part. I can only do what I can as a member of the public and member of this community. Which is approach the relevant parties with the rights and ownership of a Trademark. All I can do is wait. So wait I shall.
Maybe probably Wheelchair, Bicycle, No smoking, Quiet Zone, No Bicycle and Free WiFi signs as my suggestion, it can even be used in livery designer, well I hope it happens
Or maybe if then another that that I would really love to see in livery designer is Circle, triangle, square and diamond patterns
Most certainly should have more decals to allow users to express themselves on a something named Creators Club. We can’t be creative if we don’t have some real cool funky content. Don’t get me wrong thinking outside the box then many things can be achieved already with what we have. But it’s not that easy for some like I have said before due to possible frustrations when attempting certain liveries, meaning the potential to put some early users of continuing with Livery Design or the game. The lack of some really interesting shapes and of course the important passenger information signs. Yet to be fair to DTG they give some decals you speak of already via the mastery challenges. Which to be honest is decent way of claiming. If you have the skill to pass the challenges then those able to should enjoy the more interesting decals, some you mentioned but we already have as seen below. And there is loads loads more than what I shown you, still up for grabs. In fact I did say to DTG about what decals they put with a DLC does help sales. Why?, because I bought for the decals and the fun of having a vast DLC collection. DTG want you to use the game and enjoy its content, so by giving us these challenges is a good way for the user to be on the game, and a users getting rewards for that time. Handing out decals is not always a good marketing strategy Because as you see I have a fair few decals, which I worked hard for. Like others have, so for DTG to start handing them out would be most certainly a kick in the,,,YA WHAT’S?!!, to those and myself who has worked hard for them. DTG has this to consider the above aspects on what your looking and the community in terms of signs. Don’t get me wrong I support your suggestions fully I do. But I do wonder if the community is aware of these decals I have shown today or not. And the topic of handing out decals many users worked hard for. Like everything these day, it may seem a simple enough demand, but it’s not as ease as some think. Myself included. Hope we do see some extra free decals tho, and better quality ones for the mastery challenges after purchasing a DTG product Everyone can be happy then. Yay.
I’m with you in the signs. But again DTG make liveries. Such as livery packs. If they give us the users all the professional tools then that could be detrimental to the company in terms of their product due to work done by users. Something I noticed with past DTG models when doing data plates. What DTG back then wasn’t what I’d called highly accurate or detailed by a company. Snow that didn’t melt around warm or hot surfaces things like this. They seemed to lack that quality of detail. So I tried to improve on what was there at the time (2023). But on my return this seems to have changed,,now I do have my work cut out to replicate how detailed the models are today. Which means limiting me on what I can do as a creator due to decal limitations spent making signs/ logos etc. If DTG did start providing all such sign’s especially data plates then users work quality would improve allowing more opportunity for them to provide the community with top class work equal to a studio’s. Which could result in possible future sale issue, such as the US livery pack. Why buy if a user made them and the community could get them for free on CC. Can you see what I mean?. Probably over complicating things as I usually do but, I understand many peoples feelings about decals but from how a possible company see it I can’t say for certain. All I can know with certainty is that everybody has their own interests at heart.
