theyre travelling out of Hagen the opposite end that we currently drive out of - I think, I havent driven RSN in like 4 months.

in a 146, that IIRC isnt on RSN currently.

Yes, it looks to be the opposite end of the Hagen station. Rail extension maybe?

The 146 definitely isn't on RSN right now, so that's nice.
On the left, however. Maybe this looks like a DMU? Based on the shape I don't think this is a shunter

The side of the loco on the left of the image looks very similar to the edge of the DB BR 422 (highlighted section in blue) which is used on the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. Since the image is taken from the opposite end of Hagen HBF to the RSN route, it would suggest the route goes in the opposite direction. The Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn heads west from Hagen to Dusseldorf via Wuppertal, which is 68 km or 42 miles long (including both lines to Wuppertal). Not sure why there is a DB BR 146.2 though.

I really hope it's the Düsseldorf - Wuppertal - Hagen route and the service mode is packed like the MSB is. I've always wanted to see that line in a simulator.

my heart was jumping when I saw this... If this will be a Hagen extension, I would be so greatful. RSN is my favorite route. Having the 426 would be awesome ;)

Looks interesting and could be my first German purchase other than RT. Question, do German locos have anything other than red/white DB livery?

According to the tiny bit of headlights you can see, that SEEMS to be an ET 422:

Looks like a very nice train! I'd love to drive in it, and given the quality of modelling in TSW it WILL be nice ;)

Funny thing is, people will probably complain about this being the wrong train for the line (S5/S8), but considering what the right one would be... I'll more than happily take these.
It could in theory also be the route to Cologne rather than Düsseldorf, which would make me even more happy! Either way I'm hyped!

No. Not all are red and white. There are many TOCs other than DB, each with their own livery. These would require licensing of course.
And as for DB themselves, they have a few more paintjobs too. First of course, the white of the long distance trains - IC, ICE and such. And in the more recent years, they also came up with a few regional liveries, the silver and green of the Leipzig area being one of them.

if you add up the two numbers after 146/143, you get 422.

Some people on these forums could give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money!

Also I just realized if they combine RSN and this new route into one Journey, you could pretty much go from Finnentrop to Dusseldorf in one session with an intermission at Hagen.

It will be interesting to see how a route extension is handled in TSW as this will be the first time it has happened. Will the 2 DLCs be merged into one if you own RSN so you can run a timetabled service between Finnetrop to Dusseldorf ? Will there be additional scenarios for owners of both DLCs to cover the entire 128Km run ?

    Lots of questions :)

I just remember DTG once hinted at a Cologne-Aachen project in poll long ago.
Great, now we have to post everything two or three times...

Anything going out to the southwest from Hagen (as the picture suggests this new DLC to do) would be rather difficult to to connect to the RSN as far as services are concerned. Southwest leads to Wuppertal and then on toward either Düsseldorf or Solingen and Cologne. Any train (other than a few freighters perhaps) coming in from the RSN however, either terminates at Hagen or continues (in reverse btw) toward Essen, exactly the other direction. So yes, you're probably right. It will be it's own route. And we don't know of course whether Hagen Hbf is even at the end of that DLC. Might me in the middle as well. Wuppertal-Hagen-Dortmund, something like that might also be possible.

Zooming in, if you look closely you can see a reflection in the windows. Which confirms earlier reports of it being a 422. B7A36B89-1F49-47B8-9117-08620D1F697F.jpeg

Oh, and for the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn which Hagen is a part of, there's a regional livery as well. And yes, also for the 422:

There are no people in this photo as well. Could this be the first post apocalyptic route for TSW?

Maybe TSW NPCs are just smarter than the average Hagen citizen (not too hard to achieve)... and stay the heck out of Hagen. In the real station, there are actually signs which say "Please don't disembark here!" And they are there for good reasons!

Well to be fair, they are only on the service platforms, from which staff would load luggage onto trains back in the day. And which are not connected to the concourses.

Ok thanks, not being from Germany myself I am not familiar with the rail network there at all....so good to have a bit of background info.

Also, what did you mean by posting everything 2 or 3 times ? I read all the replies in this thread before posting and didn't see any mention of how this new DLC will integrate with RSN (if it is indeed a route extension)

Of all the routes that have released for TSW thus far, the German ones have always kept my attention and intrigued me the most for some reason. I feel like it's a combination of the diversity in rolling stock and quality of the routes themselves. The most recent Peninsula Corridor and even the LIRR haven't been able to keep me invested like the German routes have and the LIRR is my hometown railroad!

A rather long way of saying this has seriously caught my eye. I appreciate the tease. Looking forward to more info down the line Dmitri.

Hm, that Cologne-Aachen part was supposed to be edited out actually... did I post that? It was a rather baselsess speculation (and wishful thinking on my part) on how Hagen to Cologne might be more likely than Hagen to Düsseldorf. Maybe they were working on Cologne Central Station etc. as well for some time. But well, just ignore I said it.

Posting multiple times, Dmitri put up that picture in the PC, PS4 and xBox section each, and many of the questions and threories rised are the same. Me happening to be from the area, I can answer a lot of them, and if I can help, I tend to feel obliged to, sort of. My bad.

That would be the other direction from Hagen, but who knows.. maybe Hagen is in the middle of the route rather than the end.

Im thinking its a new route and not an 'extension' of sorts, just the route headed the other way out of Hagen. If its only the locos in pic please have livery options not red (heck even some super weathered red ones would be welcome)

Well, we don't know what in timeframe it is set yet, but assuming it is right today, there'd be a number of non-traffic-red liveries coming into question. First, the already mentioned green VRR livery for ET 422, and the white of DB long-haul trains:
    IC Köln-Stammheim 02.06.2009.JPG

Also running on this route are the following regional and local trains, operated by non-DB TOCs:
    654 Solingen Hbf 23.08.2018 01b.jpg
For one, the Talent 2 in the colors National Express Germany, who are running the RB and RE lines toward Cologne. They chose the British national colors in Germany to highlight their origin.

    ET 6.03 Schwerte (Ruhr) 08.07.2019 01b.jpg
and Eurobahn, who serve the RE13 line to Düsseldorf, along with a second RE operated by DB.

Both would require their own individual licensing of course, and between Hagen and Wuppertal both could be used. Only past Wuppertal the Cologne and Düsseldorf lines split up.

If however, DTG do the same as with RSN, and set it when DB still ran the route, I'm afraid that means only the red we already know. Plus maybe the long-haul white should it turn out be the route to Cologne, as there are no long-haul services between Hagen and Düsseldorf.
