All the colors seem to turn into this ugly darkish grey color whenever there's even the slightest bit of fog or during sunrise and sunset. That's so unlike real life. Even with fog, grass and trees are supposed to be green. Not grey or black. Am I the only one being upset about this?
no sometimes it really looks like a grey or white drab :P other times it looks awesome so yes a bit more color would be nice (close distance view)

Even with fog, grass and trees are supposed to be green. Not grey or black. Am I the only one being upset about this? No you are not the only one...I have been saying this for years. Anything other than good weather and the colours almost become monochrome. Its really unrealistic. DTG need Armstrong Powerhouse to work on the terrible weather options if they don't have the time or inclination to do so themselves. Its yet another thing that ruins the immersion.
But IRL there is many grey days. With full cloudy weather many colors are faded. Cuz technically everything is covered by a giant shadow. Personally, it annoys me when the cloudiness in TSW is set slightly higher than the standard value - everything takes on a yellow tint. IRL it happens sometimes before/after the rain. But in game I've choose the static weather which will never changes and the rain will never start, so it's ugly and unrealistic.
Maybe the lighting might improve if and when they move to UE6 in TSW6? Weather effects have always been the bugbear of TSW!
I rarely play TSW with dull weather mode (just cloudy and no rain), the texturing is not much better than MSTS days. Rain and fog is quite atmospheric and sunshine/light clouds is generally very good.
recorded 28 february, so that's before spring, in the Netherlands, which is right between the UK and Germany so similar climate. Grass is much more colorful than in TSW.
As I said earlier different climate. Different grass types, if you want. Many depends on the region. Everyone has their own experience of observing nature depending on where they live. Let's agree that in TSW the lighting is not very well implemented and is not tied to regions - it is the same everywhere, be it California or the north of England.
Grass can also be dead in the summer during drouth. So you accept the fact that the grass isn't always green. Then what are we arguing about?
Ya arguing with you is clearly both impossible and useless. Purno has a valid point and you don't, that's what we are arguing about.
Purno Do you use my graphic and lighting enhancement mod by any chance? No snags if not or you’re a console player, but I’ve been working on improving this specific phenomenon over the last couple of weeks. In a bid to counter the over-exposure this was an element that I’d probably neglected a bit but hopefully that’s now rectified. As one of its biggest critics I now believe the lighting looks great across the board at any given time of day or year and in all weathers. Subject to a bit more testing I’ll aim to release the updated version as soon as the Mild May line releases.
I'm a PC player but I try to keep my game clear of mods to ease reinstalling/updating etc. I also think it's DTG who should improve their game, instead of relying on the modding community to fix DTGs mistakes.
turning volumetric fog off and setting fog itself to high helps somewhat at least i noticed it a bit less grey that way but all bits helps
