Interestingly the SimExpress website is now down, leading me to believe that they didn't intend to add this to the website yet. They've also announced a Prima, but that was earlier on.

As the other 373 is now re-cancelled, this is all we're going to get for the 373. Luckily SimExpress are a very good developer (most of the time). The thumbnail image has one of the former North of London sets used by SNCF, which were formerly used on GNER. The cab in these sets was slightly different to the one in the regular 373s, so if the thumbnail is representative of what we're going to get I'd say it's sage to assume we're getting the regular and NOL sets. Liveries other than Eurostar white are something I'm not sure about - I'd love for the GNER livery to be included.

Although the picture is of a NOL set - 2+14 they still might be making the other versions.

I have the SNCF BB22200 which are set up with TVM and that works on the LGV Sud - Lyon Marseille route.
But it does not work on HS1 as I tried a trip to St Pancras.
Sim Express said the TVM on HS1 is slightly different that used on LGV Sud
The Class 92 and the 395 both work on HS1 and Lyon - Marseille

Yes - might be why the site is down.

    Google be translating it wrong
"Par contre le projet TMST est abandonné du côté de SimExpress (ça ne veut pas dire qu'il est abandonné par d'autres"
    which comes out as
" On the other hand, the TMST project has been abandoned by SimExpress (that doesn't mean it's been abandoned by others"
Not sure about being too expensive to make?
There are only 5 different vehicles in a set and AHS made one - even if it was not as good as we hoped

There was talk of SkTrains making the 373

I got the point about it being expensive to make from the person who told me the news first. I assume they got it wrong.

I think SKTrains have quietly scrapped their TMST project so it's safe to say there is no proper TMST in development

This sounds like a good project for DTG if they want to show they've not abandoned TSC

TransManche's license fell through or turned out too expensive for a small developer like SimExpress ?

That's never going to happen DTG have fully moved onto TSW and have pretty much stopped all work on TSC including core updates

What has a TransManche license got to do with Eurostar?
TransManche operate the Channel Tunnel and the Shuttle trains.

Nothing to stop a developer releasing a train unbranded - like when the Racetrack route was released.
The community would pick up logos.

It's their product and they can do what they want, which I guess is frustrating for some. There are more third party items on the way but TSC will essentially become a legacy product now. People will continue to play it, nobody is taking player's existing library of DLC and there seems to be a lot of new scenarios being made, but if you're looking for new content from DTG it will almost certainly be on TSW now.

From a business point of view it makes sense. AP, ATS and many others will keep TSC alive for a few years.

The steam side of things seems to be in rude health too.

Caledonia Works has a large roadmap still and seems to also be making locos not on the roadmap. Precision loco and Victory Works are active. The freeware route scene is very strong too.

There is a lot to be positive about. It is a shame that DTG seem to not be working on it.

Steam will be going on in TS for a long time. Only in the past few years has the potential of steam in TS really been unlocked.

749006 Perhaps a first post, perhaps a returning previously banned member. Just a hunch!

The way I see it. TSW is the new/current generation of train simulator. Lots of new trains, modern routes and it brings our friends with consoles into the world of train simulation. Just like it used to be in TSC during the previous decade. Perfect for budding rail enthusiasts and old duffers like me who just fancy dipping into a route's timetable for a drive.

TSC seems to cater for those who put the detail and variety of traction over a more realistic world beyond the trackside and want to drive a realistic distance for a driving duty or even a long haul from Kings Cross to Dundee, Euston to Glasgow or Paddington to Penzance. It's for those of us who have a preference for older traction, particularly late BR/early privatisation era.

The two can live side by side and I'm sure there's many of us who use both. TSW is more fun, TSC is better for nostaglia and more accurate traction sounds and physics. I do wish DTG were doing more to bring newer traction into TSC and were making more routes for it but I also appreciate the fact that rather than just abandoning it when TSW arrived, they worked on the core of TSC to make it considerably more stable before effectively handing it to the community and third parties to keep things interesting.

Yes, it does feel like the core improvements were a parting gift to those of us who've amassed a large collection so that we can continue to use TSC on newer PCs and so that freeware/third party developers have a more stable base upon which they can make their own add-ons.

We could both be wrong but I will be surprised if DTG announce any further in-house TSC content.
