    Overview

The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner is a route in Southern California between San Diego, and San Luis Obispo. This suggestion will focus on the roughly 125 mile (200 kilometer) section between Los Angeles and San Diego. It’s the third busiest Amtrak route, and the busiest outside the Northeast Corridor. It features a lot of commuter rail and freight traffic as well, and is very scenic, running right next to the ocean for a lot of its journey.

    Rolling Stock

This route would feature both new rolling stock, pre-existing stock, and layered stock from other routes. For new rolling stock, the obvious choice would be the SC-44 Charger, which operates both Amtrak services, and Coaster commuter services in San Diego.

Amtrak usually uses a mix of both traditional Superliner coaches, and special Surfliner branded coaches, along with its own cab car.

Coaster uses Bombardier Bi-Levels, which includes both the older cab car design already seen in the game, along with a modernized cab version.

For pre existing rolling stock, the Metrolink F125, Bombardier, and Rotem cars can be included with the base route. As for layers, the rest of Metrolink’s fleet that is currently in the game can layer on, along with all BNSF stock for freight services.

    Conclusion

This route would be amazing to see in game considering how iconic it is. Considering that it’s pretty long, it would be a little more expensive than usual, but it would have the potential to be an amazing route!

I personally don't want to see the full length, due to the possibility of Having the Sprinter Service as a Branch Line to Coaster out of Oceanside.

Split the Route in Oceanside, and use the route hopping feature.

-LA-Oceanside with Amtrak, Metrolink, and BNSF.
-Oceanside to San Diego with the additional Sprinter Service from Oceanside to Escondido, with Amtrak, NCTD (Coaster and Sprinter) and BNSF freight.

I remember Pacific Surfliner being one of my favourite routes in TSC. Would love to see it make an appearance in TSW.

Locos I want: SC44 Chargers in PS and Coaster liveries, Amtrak P42DC (DLC?; needed in game), BNSF GP60/GP60M-3, GP38-2, GP39-2, C44-9W, B40-8W, and/or ET44C4 (at least one or two BNSF diesels)
LA-San Diego would be my preferred section of the route.
Please make this route sometime, DTG!

Could make for an older timetable DLC similar to the 111 on Frankfurt - Fulda

The Sprinter might work better as a separate route, with route hopping at Oceanside

Route is only 22 miles, kind of short for a standalone route, with nightly BNSF services, it would be very hard to sell as a solo route, especially if there is no new rolling stock to include. (Sprinter uses the Siemens Desiro, which we already have in game)

There are plenty of short routes like that. It could just be sold for cheaper
