NPCs need a complete overhaul. I remember when the plan was for the passengers to get on the train and find a seat, until that was too hard to implement, and have been left with fade onto the train ever since.
heh, like literally the only reason I kinda like old Viennese high-floor trams is that it is pretty much pram-proof (it is pretty much impossible to board one with anything larger than a really small pram) ... and one of the worst things is being stuck inside a vehicle for over half an hour with those screaming devils inside lol
When they shove their phone in my face asking "is this my train to (insert station here)" when their ticket clearly says otherwise.
Never had shoving a phone in my face. But, I’d rather people ask stupid questions, no matter how annoying it is or how many times in a row it gets asked and get on the right train than end up 50 miles in the wrong direction.
is this a bookstore (asking that literally in the middle of a ... bookstore, with tens of thousands of books around )? sometimes I think some ppl are just glorified jellyfish in a human body lol
They'll see someone in an orange hi-vis jacket and assume they work there. I do work there, but I'm supposed to be cleaning the trains, not practicing customer service. Many times I've told them yes just so they'll go , or (insert devil face emoji) pointed to someone else and told them that's who they need to talk to
I hate it when they ask questions, no matter how stupid they are. I'm not customer service. It's funny though when I tell them which train they want (whether or not it is actually that one), they either go the wrong way or still ask someone else. The amount of stupidity I have seen in just two years by these sort of people is unbelievable.
Curiosity now, what actually do you do on the railway? People can be annoying, questions can be equally… not so intelligent. But it’s part and parcel of the job
That's what DTG needs to do, put a few people in High vis in stations and we will assume they are station staff in TSW
Now I know who to blame for sending all the punters my way looking for the next train to Greenock despite said train having left 5 minutes ago. Always had a bad feeling about those Cleaners at Central Station...
I clean the trains. Although I didn't realise how much customer service it involved. Could say I got more than what I bargained for I'll be positive and say its not all bad. I know all too well what it's like to be in their situation (though for me it's more buses than trains but that's another story), and weirdly feel better when I'm helpful.
Another great example of passenger (non) behaviour… Did the scenario on Harlem where you have to work two consecutive specials to the Yankees stadium (apparently the Americans have a variation on our wonderful game of cricket that involves a round bat ).Anyhoo… first train leaving NYGCT had about 4 passengers in each coach. On arrival at Yankee Stadium none decided to alight. Must have decided they would be better off making their way to JFK, flight to London then go and watch England thrash Australia in the Ashes at Lord’s or The Oval instead. Empty stock back to GCT and after the 10 MPH crawl around the reversing loop to the stabling siding and blundering around in the dark to find the next train, that also only had around four passengers in each coach. Arriving at the Stadium, they didn’t even get a chance to alight as the scenario abruptly ended without even the usual open doors prompt.
So Dumb Right? Yeah DTG Needs to know and do something about these things, maybe take it to dovetail support for further Notifiying...
Remember not all passengers are the same. Some of them, especially if they work "in the city", may consider themselves 'high fliers' and think that you are 'beneath them'
The word "just" is a little bit harsh. Have a look at the link below and all will become clear. Happened To Be In The Barking District.
Strange how every bug is a gameplay issue, therefore allowing them from picking and choosing what to address but managing to keep the game on sale....
Meanwhile, these NPCs are going to be waiting a while: They're stuck on a train that isn't leaving for another 2 and a half hours, on a train that is supposed to be empty stock. This was on BPO, at Preston (acknowledging that is it not the fault of Just Trains).
Reminds me of when I was stuck on a railtour that broke down, for several hours. Looking at a train station that was totally inaccessible, because we was on the loop!
Still, shouldn't be this bad after 7 whole years, they are not that hard to develop non-playable character ??
