May well suffer from Z-fighting too, and the other electrostars all seem to.

It’s really bizzare to be honest, for me a fully loaded WCML runs worse performance wise, than FTF, yet FTF is plagued by the issue whereas WCMLS isn’t.

I imagine with the use of more rolling stock & stuff like the underground lines on FTF, it probably is more intensive, but to the point where a 4x smaller texture footprint can’t resolve the problem? It must be an underlying issue in the route build.

And yet, the first console gameplay the public gets to see, is absolutely woeful performance? Of course might be an old build etc, but what DTG are saying, doesn’t mesh with what we’re being shown.

For me on PS5 Pro, FTF definitely runs worse than WCML. In WCML, texture blurring even with full layer usage is still marginal, of course it could be a coincidence, I haven't used WCML for a few weeks now ..... but FTF practically has problems even with half layer load and it gets blurry ...... it's a little better when using BR111 and n-Wagen, I would say that Dostos are the main problem

It's quite peculiar and I would say that there is no clear methodology for this, which is the basic source of the problem ..... it's always a certain combination of traffic in combination with the type of rolling stock operated, etc. And the implementation of the map as such will certainly play a role in this too

I don’t have a full list of routes where I’ve seen this issue but the 2 that are most notable are FTF & Rosenheim. It’s weird that the latter is susceptible to the issue, yet I’ve never had it on DRA with all layers. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on a UK route, so it would make NLL the first.

Like you say, could be rolling stock related such as the dosto, after all they are pretty old & potentially not very economical in a performance sense.

The ‘710’ services are ECS moves to/from Gospel Oak & Barking I believe.
As it seems that 378 ‘Player Substitution’ on WCMLS appears to be all 710 services (hence a 4 car 378 also being available for that), I would hope the same would occur on this route, allowing the 710 to be driven on all Mildmay services.
Hopefully they have put the Mildmay & Windrush services on different layers, or set the timetable up in the editor in such a way that this could be easily achieved, as I don’t think 710s are permitted to work the Windrush duties due to the lack of end egress in the tunnel sections. Don’t know if one has worked through to New Cross depot ECS though.

It helped me at Rosenheim when I removed the DB DB 363 DLC and Bremen Oldenburg, which eliminated the blurring problem around Salzburg.

I doubt this will happen officially and I also can't see any of the modding community bothering to do it either. The 710s simply don't run on the Mildmay Line because there are only 6 five car Dual Voltage 710s and they're all needed for the Lioness Line allocation. There are occasional ECS stock moves from Willesden to Ilford Depot over the Mildmay Line as it's the quickest route, they could add a couple of those into the Timetable I guess.

I haven't watched any streams yet but given that TfL have recommenced applying the new "Black" livery, I'm hoping we either get both liveries or that someone can mod it so that the right units have the correct livery. I'm probably going to be raifanning at Stratford at first.

Look at me getting through an LO post and remembering the new names for each line.

It's interesting that the game running on PS5 Pro has the same memory problems as on the base PS5, the Pro has an extra 1.5GB of memory allocated to games, but I guess the devs have to code the game to know it's running on a Pro rather than it just being able to access it automatically.

DTG are Lazy as Hell, they also Copied the low Distance Draw from the Series S for the SX Version.
The Game is Running terrible on Console plus the flickering and blurry textures on Everything

This Mildmay Overground was not ready for release on PS5.

    Stop doing this.

We are customers paying full price, not your free testing team.

Your marketing manager or product manager is just shameless.

Looks good on their quarterly review, one supposes.

But even X-plane caught up with MSFS. Competition will appear because you invite it.

If i were a Transport for London exec whose kid or grandkid has a PS5, i would not be amused.

This should worry all new 3rd party developers with aspirations to excel: DTG QA is sad and their beta testers are fan boys who let this Mildmay slip right on thru to be sold on Sony PS5.

Your rep will suffer. And in software, that actually matters.

My opinion is that QA/Beta Testers DID spot the problems on console (if they didn’t they should have gone to Specsavers) but the bean counters at Focus Entertainment insisted on a release (a delay now would have a knock on effect on release dates down the line thus impacting on their profits) and fix it later.

I own and play TSW on both consoles and I tell you my experience on the PS5 is a lot better than the Series X. Not perfect of course, but the Series X seems to always draw the short straw.

As for the PS5 Pro, completely agree. A complete waste of money for an overpriced upgrade. TSW doesn’t benefit from it unless the devs start using Pro enhanced support.

According to the preview stream, at that point, QA hadn't reported any issues on console. :|
