So the Chiltern Main Line would be a great addition to tsw5 for several reasons: Scenic Route: The Chiltern Main Line passes through beautiful countryside, historic towns, and the Chiltern Hills, offering stunning views and a varied landscape. Diverse Stations: The route includes 40 detailed stations, from the bustling London Marylebone to the historic Birmingham Snow Hill. This variety provides a rich and immersive experience for players. High-Speed Sections: There are many sections on this route that allow for high-speed travel, adding excitement and challenge to the gameplay. Historic and Modern Appeal: The route combines historic charm with modern elements, making it appealing to a wide range of players. Variety of Rolling Stock: The route can feature a mix of rolling stock, including the Class 68, Class 165, and Class 168, providing diverse driving experiences. Replayability: The route offers a large amount of replayability with numerous scenarios and potential for custom content. Landmarks and Attractions: The route includes notable landmarks such as Wembley Stadium, which can be incorporated into scenarios related to events. Overall, the Chiltern Main Line's combination of scenic beauty, diverse stations, high-speed sections, and rich history makes it an excellent candidate for TSW5.
The only major diesel mainline operating outside London. Has to come with the 68 though, can't imagine the route without it.
well that could be a great addition to the chiltern mainline but i forgot to do the rolling stock for the route
This route would be incredible. The unique train stock and the beauty of the Chilterns aswell as the bustling regions of London. It would be amazing if they could bring this route to TSW5
Looks like you are trying to bring back another just trains from train simulator classic to this game. From what I can see looks like you are a big fan of them
and the class 68 plus with the MK3 coaches as sperate add on or probrably with the class 168/2 most likely the class 168/2
I could definitely see this route coming. It looked like there was a hint on the Mildmay Line release from a picture a few days after. The green seated train has never been in TSW if I am not mistaken
I’d take anything Chiltern for the next ‘big’ release, but as Jack said, only in with the 68, MK.3’s and the DVT in some capacity. I could see them using it as bait for the Deluxe version! Class 165/6’s and 168’s with standard. Class 68’s, MK.3’s and the DVT with deluxe. The route would have to be less Aylesbury and more High Wycombe, Banbury or Oxford though. Perhaps the mainline up to Banbury (as the classic midway cut-off point, but with the Oxford branch and the other, shorter, branch to Aylesbury? We’ve often bemoaned the lack of a branch, when suitable candidates were possible, on these longer A to B style routes! Also, skipping the longer Aylesbury branch could loosen the load on the Metropolitan / Jubilee line services and development! edit: Banbury appears to have its own terminating services from Marylebone, so it rebuffs its status as the northern extremity nicely. Also quite a few units stable here overnight too.
The route also does go through High Wycombe but maybe if possible then it could end at Banbury or oxford
I've wanted this route in-game for quite a while - Just Trains' recreation of it for TSC is pretty great, but I reckon a version in TSW would be really fun, especially with the amount of variety on the line in terms of locomotives and DMUs - until fairly recently, they even had Class 121 Bubble Cars in use between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury, which if recreated here could add a neat heritage touch to the line as well.
Maybe probably it's better for it to be a separate add on but yeah, nice suggestion And it goes to Aylesbury & Quainton Road.....
Only glaring downside is that current TOC Chiltern are owned by Arriva, famous for not wanting to share their licenses!
