Is the boo-hoo necessary? Seems you're being overly antagonistic for no gain. You buying the route isn't affecting those of us who won't buy it, I hope you're aware of that

Why is it a waste of money? If he gets enjoyment out of it then it isn't a waste of money. I think it is far better to judge value for money on the amount of use someone gets out of something rather than its contents.

Some people on here know the cost of everything and the value of nothing!

Well it works both ways and it seems that those who aren't buying it seem just as quick to tell use that they aren't and that also isn't going to affect the views of those who are..

I don't know why people can't just accept that when something new comes out it is going to appeal to some and not for others.

Indeed. When I spend money on a new bike, I justify it by valuing previous bikes on their cost per mile*. Same should apply to games. If I get hundreds of hours out of a £24.99 purchase, it's better value than a £5 game I only play a couple of times. If people are passionate about driving the route, then it's worth the money.

    * I still always wait for a sale/deal to skew this value :)

I have a guess as to why there aren’t route extensions. Tons of work would have to go into editing services to make them start/end at a different location and making sure everything still works properly. That’s probably a lot harder than it seems.

That was my speculation as well. But then, creating services from scratch for a brand new route is work as well.

But you aren’t modifying existing services...

So probably in near future we will never see any route expansion from DTG.

My thoughts. The route looks great, i love German routes. Now the route length might seem short only 30km. My home city Melbourne, Australia(4.5m people) has a large metro network, after comparing rro with the metro routes rro would be a medium route and its about the same length as the craigieburn line which is 27km in length 18 stations and about 44 min ride on a good day. At first i thought rro is short but after comparing it with the metro routes, i dont think its too bad but people from larger cities like nyc might think 30km is too short. So yes i will buy rro. Heres the
    Melbourne metro routes

    Hurstbridge line 36.7km 24 stops 1 hour 9

Mernda line 33.1km 25 stops 50 mins roughly

    Upfield line 20km 14 stops

    Belgrave 41.8km

    Craigieburn line 27km 18 stops 44 mins

    Cranbourne line 44km 23 stops 1 hour

    Frankston line 42.7km

Glen Waverley line 21.3km 12 stops

    Sunbury line 39.5km 15 stops

    Werribee line 32.9km 17 stops

    Williamstown line 15.5km 12 stops

    Lilydale 37.8km 21 stops

Sometimes a thumbs up isn't enough. Thanks and praise for your well reasoned opinion.

The problem is still to compare a train line with a subway to justify the purchase. It's a train simulator, and here a subway simulator :

The game has reached the point where it's getting too expensive to buy every dlc that comes out. At least for me, first I was buying everything at release, then everything when discounted. Now I'm already at the point where I will never buy some dlcs, and this is probably one of them. Gotta keep that $$ for future stuff, like lzb, modern british trains, steam...
