Feedback about the thread title: Grongingen should be Groningen In all seriousness, looking forward to this one (and your pronunciation in the stream was pretty much spot on!).
Just finished my first run in the ICM and I liked it a lot. Didn’t see any clearing issues with the scenery or the train and the ICM sounds amazing. Nothing to complain about so far
Thoughts: - The scenery and trains look great - I like that you can manually change the PIS on the SNG and it would be nice to see this on the ICMm, as well as other trains - I think it is exciting when we get new countries, and I would like to see more new countries in the future - I would also like to see more Dutch content in the future, some things I think would be cool to see are: Old version of the ICM with working gangways DDZ NS Class 1500 Amsterdam or Rotterdam with the port modelled so you can do freight services Bugs: - The ICMm and SNG can't couple in-game, even though they can in real life
One thing, before I get to the main point it is really well implemented and the driving behavior of the trains is really good alone the sound good work for the team. But now to one thing that annoys me a bit, and that's fis (pis) at the icm Unfortunately, there is apparently no way to switch this to free mode with the train and it's a bit annoying
The compressor of the SNG is constantly on, even if the MR is full. And the traction handle seems very sensitive on the SNG, reminds me a bit back then with the BR642.
Now that is a fix I can do easily! And thank you so much - I wanted to make sure I could at least try the pronunciations!
On both training modules if you turn the safety systems on the ATB limit is 45kph, you are then given an instruction to reach 80kph for the ICM or 60kph for the SNG, which is impossible because the penalty braking kicks in before you can reach that speed. If you wait until after that instruction before turning on the safety systems the limit never goes above 45kph, so quite a slow ride round to the station. Even doing that you don't get the Platinum score anyway, presumably because it doesn't award any points for stopping at the station. PS5 Pro.
From that video Tom did the ATB training, I was doing the two loco training modules from the first chapter of the journey. The journey appears to be missing the ATB training though, so I will go back and do that, just for completionist sake, ATB is very easy, and all the beeps and buzzers are coming out nicely from the DualSense.
Before I call it a bug, does anyone more knowledgeable than me know where the all the motors are located in the ICM? I noticed the sounds only come from the pantograph car
It’s a superb route and well made. DTG Harry ive noticed a few times when switching views with the thumb-stick and dpad it opens the doors instead when driving the icm. It will then all of a sudden revert back to its main function.
That is correct. On 3 car ICM's the 2 bogies under the power (pantograph) car are motorised, the rest aren't. On 4 car ICM's the 2 bogies under the power (pantograph) car AND the first bogie on the car behind it is also motorised with the rest of the bogies not.
The scenery on this route is increbibly well done, the lineside vegetation, little details like different types of fencing along the way, lots of different buildings, industries, contrustction sites along the way. I'm not completely sold on the stripey fields, but other than that very well done. In particular the water looks fantastic, with all the streams, brooks, lakes etc., I even just went past a slightly flooded field, here are a few of my favourite shots so far.
The route is wonderful and very immersive that we feel we’re in the Netherlands. Both trains are pleasant to drive and well recreated. I’d like to see DTG to keep that level of dedication and realism they put on that DLC for the next ones. There’s only one thing that bother me it’s the throttle lever on the SNG which is too sensitive.
On PS5 if I press on the screen the ATB Button I've got DRIVER MODE and nothing happen. Is there any solution? How can I press this button?
First of all, well done DTG. Didn't expect that. For me there's only one minor issue. Cars sometimes slip through the crossings.
Another minor issue. The cyclists at Groningen don't peddle. Also one or two have absorbed into the road a bit.
I noticed on the preview stream that the cyclist just sat still and the pedals rotated. The seemingly being absored into the road. This is probably the same thing that happens to cars since the pathway they follow does not exactly match the road surface.
Hi, ATB Release does not appear to work on the ICM. I have had an emergency brake application and followed Matt's process from the preview but cannot get the red light to extinguish. I am on PS5
As I seen on PS5 you can press one time the ONTGRENDELEN button the second time is Inactive I raised a ticket #76706 at Support
The ATB Release works ok for me on the ICM on PS5, throttle to 0, brake to 3, white light comes on, press ATB Release, wait for a lot of air noise from the brakes, release brakes, throttle to move. On the SNG pressing the screen appears to be treated as if you pressed the red option, pressing circle to back out from the screen lets you continue, but it needs fixing so we can use the other options on the screen.
When approaching a speed restriction and slowing down, the game says you are overspeeding and only gives half of the points, even if you are following the breaking curve.
The vigilance (deadman) warning sound on the Koploper is almost inaudible on PS5. It’s less of a warning and more like something has started quietly humming in the cab. This is when sound is played normally and not through the controller. It could do with the volume boosting up a fair bit.
Service SPR (622) Assen to Groningen 08:46 doesn't quite behave as in real life: When it arrives from Groningen around 08:41, it stops at the south end of platform 2 near the buffer to let people out. That is correct. In the game it then just sits there until 08:48, after which the AI driver switches ends and takes off, back towards Groningen. That is not accurate. In real life after letting every one out at the south end, the driver changes ends and moves the train to the north end of platform 2, at the level of the station entry / hall / stairs / elevators. It then waits there a few minutes to let passengers in. Only then does it commence the drive back to Groningen at 08:48. Kudos that one of the elevators works in Assen, I regularly use that one with my folding bicycle
PC Player - Steam The final rendering of the sleepers on this route happens particularly close to the front of the train and is very off-putting. It makes for a poor driving experience.
Hello, I have run the Groningen Hero. There are a few things. 1. The Combined Power/Brake handle of the NSSNG is not working fine. When Pressing i time its going 20 points up or down. No Accurate moving possible. Please correct this ASAP. 2. When entering the Yard there is a speed restriction of 20 km. But there are NO warning Signs that you mus slow down to 20. You just wil be confrontated with the 2 sign when traveling 40!!! That is not correct. There must be some warning to the speed reduction. Henk
I would second that. Doing the first proper Journey run, I lightly tapped the A key and it was at 100%. Initial impressions are very good, once I overcame my finger resistance at pushing a button to pay £33 on a DLC. I think DTG still need to be aware this crosses a red line for many and I only made an exception to try out this new region. From what I've seen so far the route itself looks to be up there with JT and TSG standards, more to follow on that. The IC train seems a bit overpowered, was accelerating and holding 140 km/h in the low S throttle settings. Sound also a bit unbalanced, the clatter through points etc. really loud but traction sound barely audible. No windows or doors I can see that open to let effects in from outside. So if only for entertainment’s sake maybe a slight buff to the traction and slight nerf to the point effects might not go amiss.
This has been a problem on console since TSW5 released. With trains like SNG where so much is done on touch screens it's really in need of an urgent fix or interim solution.
Dear DTG, First of all, love the ICMm and SNG trains. Was travelling home today in a SNG and it feels like I am back once again when driving. Sounds are incredible and very nice. Couple of things I notice: 1) Heating and Climate controls not working in the cab of the ICMm. So all the buttons under "Klimaatbeheersing" and "Verwarming" are not working. 2) 12:10 at Zwolle, PIS showing destination Groningen while the platform shows Roosendaal. 3) When in neutral, releasing the deadman padel. The Dodeman will not turn on and start emergency braking while standing still. A lot of drivers do this to test the system, but it doesn't seem to work in game. 4) When using the guard controls as driver, when closing the doors, I hear the door bell. However, the second door bell rings while my guarded door is still open. This shouldn't happen only when this door is closed as well.
First of all, thanks a lot for this new dutch route! It is enjoyable to be able to drive 'at home'. I noticed some points that I want to share. Hopefully these feedback points are usable to make the experience even more realistic. The master controller lever in the SNG is quite sensitive. This makes it a bit too difficult to drive smoothly. Maybe the controller could be made less sensitive? The deadman buzzer in ICM cannot be heard very well when the train speed is high. Maybe the sound level could be increased? In the vectron, the line voltage decreases when demanding a lot of tractive effort and the line voltage increases when braking regeneratively. This behavior is correct, but could you also add this to the ICM and SNG? The Vectron starts in german mode in the timetable route "Kijfhoek to Onnen." The german 15 kV panto is raised. I know that this can be changed, but I think that locomotive should start in dutch mode. I have read somewhere that the STM-ATB is available for the vectron. Is that correct? If so, how can it be enabled? I have spotted a lot of bird's nests on the catenary portals. Nice to see that! Currently we have some issues with badgers that are digging holes under the tracks. This results in local speed limits. A bit out of the box, but it could be a nice touch
At Groningen CS you can walk off one end of the footbridge and have a wander around, but there’s no way to get back up again as the bottom steps appear to be missing…
Hi, First of all, awesome route! Thanks all Now I've run into an issue: in timetable mode, doing a conductor run from Groningen to Zwolle in a SNG, but at Haren the train won't drive after closing the doors. This is on PC.
Got something else. 12:13 service Den Haag - Groningen. When departing Zwolle. The Hud speed is 40 while the ATB speed is 60. This shouldn't happen. (correct me if I am wrong)
Pretty nice route overall. Lovely detail & really refreshing to travel along new infrastructure in TSW. The intermittent urban areas contrasted nicely with the rural parts & didn’t feel sloppily implemented, unlike a lot of other routes. The SNG is pretty bland but that’s true for all of CAF’s units. The services it offers though are quite nice, they don’t have you stopping every couple of minutes but are frequent enough to break up the straight line running. The ICMm is certainly a unique perspective to drive from & while the reverb of joint sounds are nice, I didn’t find it an overly interesting unit to drive, coupled with the geography of the track layout it was abit more sleepy than the SNG run I did. Overall though id say this is definitely one of the strongest releases from DTG, and for TSW, for TSW5. I’d like to see some alternate rolling stock for this route, but ultimately if this release is anything to go by, I look forward to the next Dutch route.
