Now I can buy a route, kek (but it's still a shame that Clapham is not included)

    P. S. It turns out that both will be, I will save money for this route)

He says in the article that he's also working on that. So we'll get both.

He said at an earlier moment during development that he was considering it.

Glad to see the extension coming soon, I wonder if the catenary being off side the tracks is part of the improvements. If I’m not mistaken, the power switch is done while the train is running instead of doing it when stopped at a station.

Well then, seems like he built the route with extending to Richmond in mind just in case.

Why can't all routes be like this?

Good news, but I will still wait to see the whites of its eyes before buying.

It's a shame DTG probably can't be persuaded to do likewise with Cardiff.

Maybe this kind of thing is more viable for a solo third party developer than for DTG. It will hardly generate extra revenue.

Having the the full route to Richmond will be absolutely superb, for me personally the immersion of running full LO services whilst having all the realistic and relevant AI traffic, will be a peak moment and clear evidence of what can be achieved in the game when content and routes are given time and effort. With the extension, this will be a display of a route given its full potential... An absolute cracker I'm excited about! Johannes is on to a real winner here, and really making a name for himself. Absolute credit where it's due and hats off to him!

Perhaps not a significant amount for this route specifically, but this is exactly the sort of thing which gets you a good reputation & bolsters consumer confidence.

Best news I could have asked for, for an extension. My go to route at the moment, nice and busy with the odd freight nestled in and plenty of AI!

I’m sure we’ll see unbranded SWR 450’s at Richmond.

The switch is done at Acton Central, what you said is true for the West London line though, the change over point is a little bit after Willesden Junction

It could well increase sales significantly, since the short route was a common complaint when it was released and may have put a lot of people off buying it. For the work involved it could well prove more profitable than making a whole new route.

TBH I think it would be a nice gesture if the 'Community', previous purchasers, donated something to Johannes directly in appreciation of the route extension when it gets released.

DTG have already had their money from the project, and will get a cut from any new sales,. So they won't lose out.

But bunging Johannes direct an unexpected £5, for his efforts re the extension would, IMHO, be a great thing to do. Rewarding, in some way, his extra efforts?

I think this is a great idea, from what was said in the roadmap it sounds like it’s probably quite a while away and as a solo developer I’d imagine it’ll take considerable time and effort to address the issues with it in it’s current state and then start to build the extension

Well some tube stock will be needed, S7 if they keep to the contempory setting.

Perhaps this will be available as a paid DLC to complement the route extension?

I wonder if we’ll see some reliveried “450’s” down at Richmond? Either way, a fantastic announcement! At last, someone is giving us a full end to end route!

The faux-LU liveried 484s from IoW/GWE would be on theme. Yes, they never ran at the same time as stock like the 710s, but in lieu of an actual S7, they're not a bad substitute.

I remember in the preview stream Johannes saying that the LU branded 484s will come in once Liam has finished his work on GWE remaster. So that should be sorted for the Richmond extension too.

Really impressed! Hopefully the core issues are fixed by then as I would love to buy this route and support this dev. Just not played TSW in ages currently with the core performance :(

It's nice the extension is happening. The route as a whole is very nice but the performances issues made me not buy it. With the route extension to Richmond, I'll probably pick it up once the extension is released and if the core performance issues are sorted out. Also hopefully there will be Class 710/3 services for the Mildmay Line added as well. I was suprised that the only services for the 710 were just Suffragette Line empty stock moves given the 710 does run Mildmay line services in real life

Only for half the services though.

Still have the other half terminating at Willesden until the Clapham line is created.

Hopefully Johannes will include the ‘odd’ SWR services that divert via the District line early and late.

Will the Richmond extension add passenger exits to the World at the three (3) sealed Mildmay stations ?

It need not be for access for player On Foot, but we have no other SEALED stations in TSW, do we ?

These THREE stations only allow passengers to change direction !

Do the walls have invisible portals ! Worm holes ?

To me it means we risked the passages between platforms being walled off ... THAT has happened even recently, since DTG QA seems not to knows how to achieve acceptable Test Coverage.

Smallbrook Junction on both Isle Of Wight and Isle Of Wight 2022, have no exits. I’m pretty sure they go towards a shelter on the steam side and spawn and despawn there.

Have just started playing this route and the graphics are not loading properly and everything pixelated. I am on Series X. Is this a known/common issue and will the route be optimised? I am seriously considering a refund if this isn’t going to get better. The wider scenery is very good though I have to say.

The dev is working with dtg to get it better optimized. It's the way consoles save memory. When it is using a lot, it has to sacrifice some things

I wonder if for those who haven’t bought it yet that maybe the route might increase in price to £30?

I opted to pass on the original, not because it was short or incomplete, but because of the type of route: electric toy train, bus stop gameplay, linear A to B running.

I'm happy for players who have the route getting the extension they asked for. And I'm full of admiration for this developer. But it's still the same kind of route that DTG has been peddling for the last couple of years and still not my cup of tea.

DTG need to start thinking outside this box they're in. We need steam and freight as well as commuter rail.

While it is another Class 66 I would say the most underrated part of this route at the moment is the freight services you can play. Most runs require a lot of weaving through traffic so you have to be ready for reds. The runs to Stratford also allow you to arrive at different platforms than the Overground services. I just completed one that had a nice parallel arrival with a Greater Anglia service.

Will Johannes fix the three stations begore Willesden Junc where the platforms connect to each other but are sealed ff from the ourside world ... no where to leave, no where to come from ( exceot thenother platform) NOT for player access necessarily, just for barest station realism in a tran World ...

I think the OP is confusing TSW with another game? lol.
    Freight, Steam, commuter?
90% of all dlc is commuter.
75-80% of all dlc has freight included.
    Steam is dead! (Non-Profitable).

Outside of USA/Canada, are there all that many ‘Freight Only’ lines
Same could be asked of ‘Passenger, but no commuter or freight’ lines in Europe.
We get 90% commuter because that’s roughly the percentage in reality, with most of them having some freight traffic.
Even a main line has commuter traffic at some point - the ECML has local traffic London-Peterborough, EMR at Peterborough & Doncaster, Northern & TPE at Doncaster, York & Newcastle.

What we need is Dovetail to work with the community and get routes upgraded.

I’m sure that if they were to be paid for their time, plenty members of the community that have already shown that they can produce good, full timetables would be willing to do this again for other routes.

The ECML with a full timetable of Cross Country, Thameslink, LUMO, Hull Trains, Grand Central, LNER, Northern, EMR, TPE & Freight would be lovely, even if some ‘artistic licence’ was used as regards types of trains used on each service.

All of those are in game (mostly).

Lumo, Hull Trains, Grand Central, and TPE (1 892 ECS move) are all there, disguised as LNER 801s. The EMT 158 for the EMR services, and the 323 for Northern services (only to Leeds, services to Hull/Scunthorpe/Sheffield/Adwick are not there).

Can't say they don't exist, they do, they're just all LNER 801s.

Non-Profitable because they stopped making it. Start making it again with 3rd parties also, in turn attract the TSC players over and it could be profitable.

No, it didn’t sell that well. That’s why they stopped making it.
Loyal TSC players would never abandon that game though, it’s just too good for steam content.
The other problem is Matt admitted that they couldn’t get the physics right, would you be happy with a blotched job of a locomotive?
I remember people being very vocal about how bad the physics were too, when SOS launched.

I find the physics on the Jubilee and 8F aren't too bad. I'm no expert on steam physics, but they seem realistic enough to me.
