Hello! I just came upon a problem. There are some maps where AP Weather doesnt work,i changed TimeOfDay files, routeproperties and TemplateRoutes, nothing works. I also have a map where i dont have the TemplateRoutes so idk how to change it. Can somebody help? (Photo of how it looks)
Not normally. I have applied the AP weather pack to a number of European routes by just replacing the TimeOfDay files.
Apologies, I just looked it up and you are right - but doing that doesn't use all the benefits of the weather system. To "maqestix" - check the list on page 10 of the manual to see if your non--working routes are on there. If so, advise which ones aren't working so that somebody can check - although its unlikely to be me as I have relatively few of those in that list. John
They are not there,I also messaged the author of one of the maps and he said "I dont know how to do that either".
I already did that on each one of them but it doesnt work,I also need to mention that the map is Czech and almost nobody knows it (AP works on 80% of Czech routes that i have but doesnt work on 2 of the routes i have )
Do you have a link to the route, is it payware or freeware? Maybe we could have a look at it and see if we can work it out
Lets step through this, the route uses CologneKoblenz for the time of day files, have you replaced those with the AP ones?
For QD you might need the following: Try replacing the ToD files in the Kuju folder. Some routes use those. And remember, you might need to rename the Tod files to match the names in each routes ToD folder.
The point is: the ToD's you see listed in the RouteProperties.xml are not necessarily the ones the route really uses. I don't know how the find the real ones.
Does seem strange that the people on the Czech forums don't know how to fix this problem as they would have come across it.
The route, if a template is set, will look for the time of day files specified in that template. If the template is not present it'll default for something else. Check in RouteProperties.xml and where the template folder should be create the folder with the TimeOfDay files as required.
My experience here is that people have “corners of expertese” in TSC. So it just might be that it wasn’t the right people looking in on the thread.
Yes. Which is why replacing the Kuju ToD files is sometimes helpful. And ofcourse you could be much worse off than your system using AP weather as your default
Here is the RouteProperties weather section, nothing seems out of the norm there Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <cRouteProperties xmlns:d="http://www.kuju.com/TnT/2003/Delta" d:version="1.0" d:id="62981044"> <ID> <cGUID> <UUID> <e d:type="sUInt64">5243793755441749612</e> <e d:type="sUInt64">2297531371840101522</e> </UUID> <DevString d:type="cDeltaString">44845e6c-b2a3-48c5-925c-d81e9c78e21f</DevString> </cGUID> </ID> <DisplayName> <Localisation-cUserLocalisedString> <English d:type="cDeltaString">SIMTovske prihranici</English> <French d:type="cDeltaString"></French> <Italian d:type="cDeltaString"></Italian> <German d:type="cDeltaString"></German> <Spanish d:type="cDeltaString"></Spanish> <Dutch d:type="cDeltaString"></Dutch> <Polish d:type="cDeltaString"></Polish> <Russian d:type="cDeltaString"></Russian> <Other/> <Key d:type="cDeltaString">2cdc959b-3e5b-4405-bb45-20f4619f8075</Key> </Localisation-cUserLocalisedString> </DisplayName> <InfrastructureModified d:type="bool">1</InfrastructureModified> <BlueprintID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> <BlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DTG</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">CologneKoblenz</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </BlueprintSetID> <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">TemplateRoutes\CologneKoblenz.xml</BlueprintID> </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> </BlueprintID> <Skies> <cRouteBlueprint-sSkies> <SpringSkyBlueprint> <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> <BlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DTG</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">CologneKoblenz</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </BlueprintSetID> <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">TimeOfDay\Spring.xml</BlueprintID> </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> </SpringSkyBlueprint> <SummerSkyBlueprint> <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> <BlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DTG</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">CologneKoblenz</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </BlueprintSetID> <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">TimeOfDay\Summer.xml</BlueprintID> </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> </SummerSkyBlueprint> <AutumnSkyBlueprint> <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> <BlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DTG</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">CologneKoblenz</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </BlueprintSetID> <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">TimeOfDay\Autumn.xml</BlueprintID> </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> </AutumnSkyBlueprint> <WinterSkyBlueprint> <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> <BlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DTG</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">CologneKoblenz</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </BlueprintSetID> <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">TimeOfDay\Winter.xml</BlueprintID> </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> </WinterSkyBlueprint> </cRouteBlueprint-sSkies> </Skies> <WeatherBlueprint> <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> <BlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">DTG</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">CologneKoblenz</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </BlueprintSetID> <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Weather\Clear.xml</BlueprintID> </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID> </WeatherBlueprint>
Well see what happens when people ask about pzb on a ts forum… ;-) AP files is even more a niche thing.
I found it in a link on a You Tube page of presumably the author displaying the route (I didnt watch it so could be wrong), the link is in the description, its a Mega download (as in the name of the file hosting site, not necessarily the size of the file).
No can do sorry, it is against the wishes of the author (AP in this case). Just copy the TOD files from the AP/WeatherEP folder into the DTG/CologneKoblenz folder
Thanks for that - I might give it a miss - watching the passengers walking down the platform - waist deep
Yeah that one annoys me no end as well, you can fix pretty easily though if break the platform at the point where it slopes towards the ground
I went to play Cumbrian Coastal this morning. I decided to check the weather settings. What I found was that it is controlled by the RSC Setlle-Carlise Route. Strangely the TimeofDay files had been overwritten by more up-to-date files, presumably from a resync from Steam. I placed the AP versions in play and voila! Seems like performing a Steam sync can break the AP installation.
Yes, as with anything else that overwrites/modifies files installed by Steam. Personally I keep reliveries, physics patches etc on an external hard drive, with the file structure mirrored from the real install, so copying them back is a simple cut-paste job in Windows Explorer.
