So I done the tutorials for two trains on WSR but when it came to trying a scenario I couldn't get the train to go forward..struggling some what
I think it's the first one on WSR ,its the 10 minute one if that helps.to be honest I've hardly played it since then so I need to get into it again. I can obviously do the start up train tutorials but I must be doing something wrong as I cant do it in a scenario
If it's the first scenario on WSR (called Preparation Work?) you start off by changing the points manually then hop into the cab and the instructions tell you to; Switch the master key on Set the reverser and headlights Set the brakes to release and increase the throttle. Unless you're talking about timetable mode and driving the Class 08 BLU? Then you have to switch the brakes from Air to Vacuum if you're pulling passenger cabins.
I'm not sure if it was the "preparation work" one.ill give it a try later again.i did find it strange that there wasnt any instructions
Just tried that service in the Class 47 and had exactly the same issue you're reporting. The brakes are set to Vacuum - Passenger when the service begins, but if I rotate the brake selector dial (behind the drivers seat) all the way a full turn so it cycles through air then back to vacuum I can start moving forward.
Cant understand why there's no instructions on the timetable as there is in the scenario mode. I suppose I should be used to it if I'm going to run to a timetable..?
For a lot people its part of the fun to figure some things out and not getting everything explained with a instruction. And with the Tutorials and Scenario´s beeing an introduction, Timetable mode is where you put your learned things to use. You can always take a look into the manuals or run a Tutorial / Scenario again to refresh the memory.
Yes I suppose your right.i havent really given it the time needed to master the controls etc etc. I think it's the terminology ( reverser, brake running) etc that I'm struggling with at the moment
Although this is clearly a bug since the train's set to Vacuum - Passenger to begin with, and doesn't move unless you fiddle with the brake selector.
Just tried that service again and this time everything worked ok. Driving the Class 47 I did the following; Switch the master key on Set the reverser Set the brakes to release and increase the throttle.
On another note, is there a way to move the external camers as the train moves along. I've seen people on YouTube do this but don't know how. I'm on ps4..?
The camera options, except Free Camera, are moving with the train. You can select e.g Front Camera, hit Triangle to move it where you like and go back with Triangle to Driver mode. Now the camera will move in the position you set it along the train. With the Free camera you can press Triangle and fly with it basically everywhere you want
