Try using it in a different us route if you have anything and see if marks you on that route if not could the loco is not programed to mark for safety systems.
not sure if any other US passenger route supports the new scoring system, but anyway, now that you mention the "programming", this could be a similar issue as with BR442 on Dresden Riesa, where after update on new scoring system, that one still gets old pts which would suck tho cos I kinda like the older version of F40PH a bit better, for reasons I listed before
That's because every service in TSW ends on a red signal. I hate it too. Plus many services to Worcester comes with "Go via noname", which I think is a hack to open a buggy signal.
during a couple runs with HSP46, not only have I noticed they might have tweaked the notches power/tractive effort levels, but maybe more importantly for some here, I managed to devise a "tactic" to get closer to stop marker in Worcester, which is notorious for giving you penalty applications waaay before it: 1. First off, obviously, you need to be going sub 20 mph 2. During last hundreds of yards to stop marker, I tried not only tapping Q aka acknowledge button, but sometimes I pressed and held it for like 2-3 secs, release it, then depending on distance maybe do it again once or twice this way I managed to get less than 10yd away from stop marker, albeit still with penalty beeping and application also, for those who play with traction lock icon showing - with HSP46 and new version of F40PH, you need to first put the brake into emergency, then into suppression, and it vanishes (on similar note, to make traction lock disappear on F40PH, Boston Sprinter verson, you need to press Parking brake set, then Parking brake release, and it vanishes) why? no idea
About double bell sound on CTC-3(most of the time it starts doubling when you touch the brakes). It glitching only with locos from this route. If the game will spawn you a F40PH from Boston - Providence, then you will not get this bug, and bell sound wouldn't doubled.
Hi guys so I have completed everything on this route and thoroughly enjoyed it but I wanna is worth keeping it installed are they likely to add anything else ie more jobs ect or uninstall
For now the only reason for you to have this route is that they may added HSP46 and CTC-5 to Boston - Providence timetable. But this chance is about too low.
Cross posting this feedback from maxime from the following thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...olen-from-me-mbta-commuter.88451/#post-954466 so it's in the right player feedback thread to be actioned. I will not be 'watching' this thread, as I have not got the route so I won't see any replies - tag me if required.
The Red Light issue on 09:54 Geometry to Worcester Train (Free Roam - Timetable) In the 1st Picture as you see when i reach that location between Framingham - West Natick i guess, at the time 10:31, there seems a freight train which shouldn't be there... I play it on Epic. 2nd picture send by user name SGTDRE and he is playing on Steam. And as you see on that picture there is no fracking Frieght train at that moment. So what the heck is that? Sorry for the slang but i post that odd issue on the 13th of November on support section yet no answered in some way.
1. How could've you turned this rainy yet beautiful morning into something like this and it's not even Bright setup. 2. Why 90% of Journey Mode services have poor weather? You've created an amazing scenery but you don't exhibit it, it's opposite - you disguise it from the users with headlights bleaching everything in a foggy weather. It's an ordeal for me to complete Journey Mode, beacause I know that every time I'll have to watch into white screen.
In real life, using bright headlights in fog will blind you and you can't see what's in front of you and trains have really bright ones which is what tsw is trying to simulate
That's true to an extent, but I've found the brightness of the headlights on the F40 in this DLC to be a bit exaggerated. That said, you're absolutely correct in that the light would just reflect back at you in real life, hence why you're supposed to drive with your dims and fog lights (which are by design lower to the ground and meant to illuminate below the fog) on when in your car in similar conditions. alex#5853 are you running with the bright or dim setting on in those screenshots? If bright, you may want to dial it down to dim to see if it makes a difference.
Ok, that checks out and shows DTG still haven't adjusted the brightness intensity. Here's an example from a cousin of the F40, the CF7 [skip to 15:10]... North American headlights are bright, but as you can see, the ones simulated on the in-game F40 are just over the top.
At least you can see something... Try driving the NJ transit ALP-46 on NYT in foggy weather. This volumetric fog looks great from the outside, but not so much from the driver's position. Some trains handle it better than others but still, how did this pass QA?? The only option is to turn it off in the settings and wait for it to pass if using dynamic weather.
With today's update that released, I noticed the cab car has the correct numbering the single level cars trailing have the wrong numbers.
Tried to do a run in the HSP46 and the engine sound cuts out and goes completely silent as it switches between idle and revving. In notches 2 and 3 you can run in complete silence. Probably a new bug, as I don't remember it from before. But it's great, because it ruins yet another locomotive that previously worked fine.
Just doing my collectables walkabout and came across this blockage and crossing bug at Framingham track 1. First noticed at time 12:05 26/02/25 -
Why would there be? As far as I am aware, it's a pretty realistic timetable. There is not much to add.
What is the mystery of AC4400? Why the second loco and all the wagons are fully on brakes? I go to Sand Patch and did the start-up procedure - everything works, the brakes released. I repeated the same thing in the same sequence at Worcester - the whole train is braked, except for the lead locomotive.
I had the same issue on one of the freight services. Brakes released, but the consist won't budge. Funnily enough if I gave it max throttle, it started stretching the consist to the point where the physics gave up, the trucks left the underside of the locomotive and the whole train flew all over the place.
Maybe they forgot that they did this, or it could be simply to add a bit of a challenge kind of thing. Personally, I like it when things are like this, I don't like it when you just magically appear in the cab like Scotty beams down and all I have to do is press Go. kind of a setup.
I must be thinking about a different service, San Bern @TSW_BNSF R-CAL6011-Kaiser Road Switching-0500hrs. Before I really put my foot in mouth or have I already
Why did we lose the system from Harlem Line where passenger cars not on the platform wouldn't open the doors?
Was that ever a thing for Harlem Line? I don't remember it being the case. It only works for a few german routes. Anyways, if I'm correct, on MBTA trains only the doors at the high platforms should open. On low level platforms, only one door is opened by the conductor, usually the second or third door from the locomotive. Though this system would really mess up the simplistic passenger AI we have currently.
After todays update the bell sound on HSP46 breaks when some other sounds appear(brakes, oncoming AI train). It starts stuttering, disappearing and play with random interval. Not tested on other loco's.
The HSP46 loco audio dips and disappears when accelerating and notching down to idle. Occasionally, this does not happen but I think everything has to be setup in the cab in a specific order to ensure that the sound works properly somehow.
I'm new to this route, just picked it up. Did they update the CSX rolling stock to fit the TOD4 lighting? I was trying a freight service and had a C40-8W behind me whose colors seemed really washed out. I know the base paint scheme is kinda faded but this really seemed like the brightness was cranked up on it. DW
With the newer ToDv4 lighting, it does look like DTG made some changes to the lighting, I have seen it in several routes; they did bump up the brightness, that is for sure, but I think they did bring it down just a tad, if you are using mods try disabling them and see what happens, or maybe add A few from the TSC mod pages, some good ones to help with lighting.
Saw something odd while doing a freight service on this route, as I was arriving at my destination with a group of locos I looked behind me and there was another little train on the same track right behind me. It got stopped at the next signal I passed but is this intentional? Shouldn't that train have gotten stopped at the previous signal behind me? DW
Can't believe how that is still not fixed. It's literally just an extra 0 in the headlight brightness value.
Can you please update the bi level cab car ditch lights to stay on continuously while the bell is on. This is how it is in the real world. Thanks!
I attempted the 09:54 Geometry Extra service a couple of times and each time I got stopped at a red signal near Framingham because of freight train Q436 which appears to get stuck trying to back into the yard north of Framingham. This is where it stops me : Q436 stuck with a "Stop Off Path" status: I think maybe the switch is not set right for it to get to the yard so as soon as it reaches that point and isn't turning it halts as it's off path? I ended up having to delete Q436 to get by. I completed the first part of the Q436 service just the other day and once complete I went into free roam to grab some collectables around Framingham station and when the AI took over the freight train promptly ended up nose to nose with that geometry train coming the other way and was prevented from moving far enough forward to make the reversing move into Framingham at all. So it seems like these two services are not cooperating. This was on the Epic Games PC version. DW
I just gave the Q436 switching service a try and by the time I disconnected the back end of the train and started to move towards the first stop marker sure enough, around the corner comes that geometry train. I couldn't stop fast enough and smacked into it hard and ended up coupled to it. Try as I might, I could not get uncoupled from it so I could delete it. When I would uncouple and try to back away the geometry train would lurch forward and reconnect to me. Lol. I guess I will have to try it again and preemptively delete the geometry train before it gets to me. This seems to be where the problem Coppo posted about starts. I'm new to this route so I don't know if the interaction between these services is a recent thing or something version specific cause it seems like some of you completed without problem. DW
This route is one of my favorites right now!! However, I have a couple of things to report- 1-When it’s foggy out, the lights are WAY too bright, making it hard to see out the cab. My sole experience of this was on the HSP46. 2-I haven’t heard anyone talk about this. For the THIRD TIME in conductor mode, after I’ve shut the doors, signaled the driver that the doors are closed, and removed my key from the controls, the train does now move. There are no trains in the way. There is not a red signal. The train just doesn’t move. The first time it happened at Wellesley Hills and the second two times it happened at Lansdowne. It’s a shame that this happens because this is my favorite route to do conductor mode. But… 3-When I’m leaving Boston South Station, I get swamped with tickets. I do see that a lot of people have said this. While I get most people are actually boarding there, I’m going to be honest here. We should also have after Back Bay to check these tickets because realistically (and correct me if I’m wrong), but barely any people go from Boston South to Back Bay via commuter rail. It’s like going from Grand Central to Harlem-125 Street on the Harlem line. For reference I play on PS5. I get 1 and 3 are more like developing errors, but is there a fix I could do for 2? It’s happened 3 times and the doors work fine at every station beforehand, and I’m doing everything the same. It’s just weird. Anyways thanks!
This is a great route, but the things I would take a look at are: 1. The HSP46 is very unresponsive on the throttle, whenever I apply power it takes like 5 seconds for the engine to rev up and start getting the locomotive up to speed. 2. The F40s are still only numbered in the EMD F40PH-2C series (1050-1075) but do not include the M-K F40PHM-2C series (1025-1036), I think the latter series should be added as they are the exact same locomotives today after their rebuild program, and to avoid locomotives having the same numbers due to a smaller selection of numbers for them to spawn from, also 1073 and 1076 need to be deleted too. 3. The F40 in general need some work, particularly the lighting, the front end, and the sound, which just needs a louder HEP generator.
Keolis T&E employee here. I had posted my own thread a while back not knowing this one existed. I had some recommendations that needed to be fixed. Thankfully, since that post, a few of them have been fixed, however some are still prevalent. Hope these will help. I just spent a bit of time with an 8-car set at Westborough, testing out the car markers on Track 2 for an inbound train. What I found is that the markers need to be moved (using a scale that has the real life length of the coaches) approximately 75 feet WEST, as in moving the car markers towards the mini-high by about 75 feet. I haven't had enough time to get to the rest of the stations outside of Grafton and Westborough. Grafton is perfectly accurate. I do for a fact know that Back Bay is off by A LOT, in both directions, on both tracks 5 and 7. The ditch lights. Lord help me the ditch lights are a problem. When the bell is activated on ANY of our control cars or locos, the ditch lights will continuously flash until the bell is deactivated. The ditch lights will not flash at any other time on any of our equipment, except when the bell is active. In the games timetable, inbound train #552 does not stop at Framingham station. It does in real life (#552 was the number prior to the renumbering of trains in March of '25. This train has been renumbered to #520) While not a necessary feature, I would love to see the "Contact the Dispatcher" feature be used as a DTMF crossing activation for inbound trains at the Concord St crossing. Inbound trains on both tracks must currently input a DTMF code when stopped at Framingham station to activate the crossing warning features, and to enable a permissive signal at CP-21. This would also be nice to see in the original Boston Sprinter on the Stoughton branch
Yeah the HSP46 sure does accelerate slow. Most passenger deisels in this game I start at notch 4 and work my way up to 8 from 0-20 mph but with the HSP it seems you could start at 6 or 8. How much power would they start at in real life with this loco? DW
not sure if you read in this thread but I have played this route since launch, and noticed right away that while going up notches to like 5-6 is fairly linear like with most US passenger diesels, but on notch 7 and 8 there is almost 2x spike in both tractive effort and amps (someone found this online): so the explanation might lie in the column SLF LD GHP, which might or not mean Self Load Gross Horsepower, but nobody could determine for sure... it seems that at notch 7 some kind of turbo kicks in or sth...
The HSPs in real life have amazing acceleration, I wish Amtrak went for them instead of the Chargers to replace the P42s
This is what I meant by the F40s front ends needing work Real: In Game: The two most noticeable differences are the windshield wiper configuration and the headlights seeming to be positioned lower on the front. I'm not sure if this is all but the front just looks off, maybe some other user can point out anything I missed, thanks
