A few routes that used to load without issue now cause the game to close without any error message. This mostly occurs with a few 3rd-party routes, but it's also been happening with the Fort Kent Subdivision. Can somebody please tell me how to fix this glitch?
I have, none of their steps have worked. And if I’m honest, I don’t like the idea of reinstalling: it could take days
Try this! In NVIDIA control panel, click on Program Settings tab, click on Add navigate to Steam | Steamapps | Common | RailWorks folder Add railworks.exe Set the processor to High Performance Processor Apply Add railworks64.exe Set the processor to High performance Processor Apply You need to do this for both railworks.exe and railworks64.exe --- Still having issues? In the NVIDIA settings "Specify the settings for this program" Change Max frame rate to 60 Change vertical sync to Fast Change Triple Buffering to On Optional setting ONLY! Change Power management mode to Prefer maximum performance --- For whatever reason that NVIDIA warns you something about being "Access denied" while attempting to change the settings above Please update NVIDIA graphics and software using NVIDIA GeForce Experience. You must perform a custom | clean installation and then apply the settings above
I don't blame you to be honest like you said a fresh install can take so much of your time if you find nothing else works then you should only make that your last resort if you feel like there is no way whatsoever you should give it a go from what that other guy said and if you find theres nothing else then there is some amazing people on here that will try there best to help
Well I tried those options, the issue still occurs. I haven’t tried the optional one yet though, so I may give that a try. I’ve also tried using logmate to figure out what’s causing it, but for some reason, nothing shows up in the logs. Am I doing something wrong? EDIT: I managed to get the latest log, but the forum said it was too large to upload. Thus, I'm putting all the information it shared when I tried to open Fort Kent here: 2025/04/11 13:20:02.189 - [Data Management] - Trace D:\RGBuild\CoreRelease\Code\DLLs\WindowsManager\Scenario.cpp : 1173 = Scenario::ScenarioStatistics::ScenarioStatistics new 1374512 2025/04/11 13:20:02.189 - Is there anything here that could be the cause of this?
To be honest with you i have literally no idea im not really a computer expert but there are some good people on here that will be happy to help in any way they can its annoying that DTG cant really help tbh they might be able to find a fix but idk sorry lad
If Every player of this game only had DTG DLC then it would be easier to solve problems - a bit like TSW. Everyone has different computers with different DLC and most of the crashes are caused by Third Party DLC. It would be like saying "I have a problem with my Apple iPad - maybe Microsoft can fix it"
Can you be more specific. Is the scenario from Steam? Is your instance crashing all together or do you go back to the TSC menu? Are all of your drivers up to date? Fort Kent is one of the earliest DLCs and should be pretty stable. Something must be wrong with your pc.
Strange! My TSC installation doesn't have those folders and path RGBuild\CoreRelease\Code\xxxxxxxxxx|xxxxxxxxxx ? Not even the files mentioned in the above error. I even checked out my error log and it shows clearly the correct path of my TSC installation and what the error codes are. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks Are you using a MAC version, if there is a MAC version? Or are you having problems with TSW and not TSC?
The D drive is compiling temp info for the execution. The file will most likely be deleted on completion being a temp file. I have my installation on my E drive as I am using a 2TB SSD for my TSC compilation.
FYI when I was troubleshooting errors on my pc I was using some windows tools to analyze what was happening in my environment. LogMate will show missing assets or setup issues. It will not necessarily show windows execution faults associated with running the TSC execution file. My issue ended up being (1) an older version of firmware on my motherboard. The ‘new’ games high spec machine had obviously sat for a time and the final assembly had a top end Nvidia board and driver with an earlier motherboard software causing video crashes (2) a wireless headset whose drivers were competing with the sound bandwidth causing lag during TSC sessions. Bottom line is many things can cause these type of issues. If you are running only Steam product and the files have been validated yet you are seeing an issue there is most likely something else going on in your pc. If you have added any 3rd party or Workshop items it is possible that the Steam files have been overwritten and have created an execution error when running TSC.
Searching the forums for "Code\Libs\Heracles\Engine\Draw" results in a number of posts One of the posts had this reply "I have sorted it. I made enquiries on ATS Facebook page and someone said to run in borderless mode and it fixed it! I suspect connecting to my surround system and sometimes having 2 screens may have caused the issue!"
Ok! First of all I apologise for the confusion. I was not talking about the "D drive" path or any other drive letter path. I am aware some players do not install games into the default path as I do What I was trying to say is that the folder and files mentioned in the above errors is not in my TSC installation For example: I do not have the folder RGBuild, I don't have the folder CoreRelease and I certainly don't have Code folder in my TSC installation and of course, I don't have those files in my TSC installation?? Or I am looking in the wrong spot?? That's what I don't understand! Again, I apologise for any confusion
I do not believe these are being stored on a drive. I believe that these are execution compilations being generated before TSC becomes active to understand what assets are available. I suspect it is defining an array of data which it is compiling into bin/XML within the Content folder under Steam. These dynamic files are then used to generate the TSC menus and also handle completion history. If you SERZ the SDBCache.bin file you will see the last compilation of what you have completed. This is not the final storage. Nowadays this is now archived on the Steam Cloud. These are the temp files used to handle and execute your scenario once it has been selected. If you delete this file your computer will regenerate it again from all of your content files on startup of the TSC executable. This is the trick used if you ever find you have lost a view of your Quick Drives. Simply delete the SDBCache.bin and let your pc generate a fresh view of available content.
So to repeat my post ZaphodScotsman "Searching this forums for "Code\Libs\Heracles\Engine\Draw" results in a number of posts" The solution was to run the Display in borderless mode Did you try that?
well, I looked in TS Tools, the route doesn't use any assets from RailStudios, not even textures. So how can an asset from RailStudios be causing this issue?
