I think that from my point of view we need longer high-speed routes since they are very short, long ones, I'm talking about 400 km, because I don't see any logic in making one 60 km long and the DLC costing you $35. If anyone agrees with my opinion, please reply and give it a like.
would take many years to make and cost an enormous amount of money. Would be way too long and complex for tsw since there is still a big manual process involved in route building. Ai can only do so much
We agree for once! High speed is just plain boring. Mile after mile of straight track with cruise control engaged or tiny adjustments to the throttle or brakes. Even the long straight sections on the Dutch route got tedious after a while.
I wouldn’t mind a little bit longer, but more like 200-250 km. I agree it’s not very interesting from a gameplay perspective, but i am fascinated by modern high speed rail irl so i would probably buy it anyway. Something german or french would have my preference.
How much are you prepared to pay for much longer routes? If it's the same price as current routes, it's never going to happen because of the economics.
I would love to see longer routes but I think it needs to be done with route merging. DTG could make for example anther part of ECML, King Cross to Peterborough. If you own Peterborough to Doncaster then you can drive the full length without hopping. I get it is not as simple as I make it sound but as mentioned above, making a 200+ mile route is never going to happen in one go.
I think it would be nice to have a long route, but how much time would each run take? If it is too long players may not have the time to play it all the time and it will probably get put to being played on the weekend and then DTG look at what is being played and a long route will suffer in that respect and then DTG will be kicking themselves for making the route. It would still be nice to have one to have a blast on, switch off and go for a long drive. However, it takes a lot to make a long route, it will tie up whoever makes it and that means we could have had 3 or 4 DLCs instead of one long route? DTG or whoever would have to charge accordly, £100 and that might not even cover the cost.
Certainly so long as we only have the one save slot. Other issues aside, I have cried off doing that two and a half hour freight scenario on Shap as it will take several sessions, but once that’s in the save slot I can’t do anything else in the meantime that might also need saving.
Now I get why you are asking for several save slots, well as Matt say it is in hand, but not a priority, so....TS7 maybe?
For a longer run I think WCMLoS demonstrates the perfect distance to stretch the legs of the loco while just the right amount of time to not become bored on the session.
Ok, not 400 km, but longer because 80 km seems short, and at least there are 2 or 3 stations in between before reaching the destination. I think it would be more like real life.
