Just wondering if there is a companion app or a way to use a tablet to display the stopping pattern or live map while you play. It would be (imo) a nice aid for hudless runs to be able to not have to turn everything back on to check the schedule or map.
This is what I'm trying to have. A little companion that shows (at minimum) basic service details. Headcode, length, weight, stopping pattern, with maybe a mini live map (but 1.0 not 2.0)
Yes, ThirdRails supports TSW5 to a certain extent, and full support will be implemented as soon as the official API is released. Which will be not too long now according to the roadmap stream. If you want to know what it supports for now please review this webpage https://thirdrails.org/tut_tsw.html
Bugger, I was hoping for something on the mobile/tablet. I suppose I should have specified an android app. Thirdrails does look really sweet though.
You can! ThirdRails broadcasts your ride to a web-based multiplayer radar, so you can follow it live on any phone, tablet, or PC, no separate app needed. You’ll also see and interact with other players in real time.
I firmly second this, it could act like an EFB that pilots (and even some train drivers apparently) have. If this was to come to fruition, I would like it to have a "pop out" HUD so that the main screen is uncluttered. I think it would add quite a deal of immersion. Whether it is actually achievable though... remains to be seen.
