Got any updates on the progress of the class 40 and class 45?, and well fixes for class 47, that’s if you can share this information at the moment

 

Yes, hopefully we will have an update/patch very soon.

 

We will have an update for everybody soon with the results of our collation of feedback, what we've fixed so far, and what we expect to fix by the time the patch drops. Watch this space as I'll be posting more as soon as I am able.

Not any time soon in my experience.
Once something is released (irrespective of the state of it) it tends to be quite some time before a new patch comes out.

 

Right, once a dlc is released the bulk of its potential sales are realized in the very near term, whatever its condition.

So there's not much incentive or urgency to improve or correct routes or locos after launch from a revenue point of view.

This is why we have to wait so long for patches and why many improvements are done by one individual working in a tiny attic somewhere for little or no reward.

Meanwhile the developer has moved on to the next money- spinning project.

( I'm speaking generally here, small developers might be more amenable to fixing stuff.)

 

Although eventually that will come back to bite them in the posterior, as testified by my reluctance to buy anything else that Rivet make or might be involved with.

When you select the 47 in free roam it only give you the option to add the loco by itself and there’s no option with the MK1 coaches. I assume this will change in the next update because it’s a pretty basic part of how the other locos are on the sim I would say.

 

If you go into Formation designer, type in MK1 it should bring up several options for pre made MK1 options. Choose them and then stick that to your loco of choice then save it.

Pop into free roam choose the loco you saved the consist to then choose own creations, then the name of the formation you saved the 7 mk1's and Loco as and voila there you go. Complete Pain in the arse as you cant make your own formations whiich many of us want to do. Surely common sense would have told them that. But Hey ho.

 

Any updates on the progress of the class 45 and class 40 updates?

 

The 40 and 45 are just the old DTG models that have been added to the pack.
Pretty sure there was no talk of them needing to be "patched" in any way.

 

Athena said they were doing something to them.

 

I already knew they are apart of the pack, they also didn’t have access to them until very recently and they said they were making improvements to them at some point

Just wanted to update you all that our first patch is out, including the DSD fixes as part of the update cycle today.

There are other fixes and updates in the works. We already have quite a number of other items sorted. (There is a lead time from us submitting a patch, it getting tested and approved at DTG's end, so we are ahead of what you guys see as we have done quite a lot of further work since submission of what you see today).

We are really grateful for the support of everyone and pleased to have sorted the DSD which was number 1 priority,

I think that's a long term vision. I wouldn't expect to see anything announced for the 40 & 45 for a while (months).

 

Yeah they said in the FUTURE they MIGHT do something with them not that they had "access to them."
Not that anything was decided.

 

I believe that Athena are now 'custodians' of the 40 and 45, and plan to update them in due course.

No let's get a pack covering all the 40 and 45 variants similar to the AP 40 pack.

 

The key thing which needs fixing with the 40 is the physics. It’s very over-powered at the upper end of the speed range.

 

So, time moves on....How does this DLC stand now? All solved or not?

 

Has anybody noticed the glowing rivets on the class 47 roof near the fans yet?

Switch on the loco marker lights, then take a look.

If somebody from Athena Simulations can tell us how they connected roof hinges to the loco marker light switch, I'd love to know how they managed it.

 

The scenarios have hardly any AI traffic and no patch has fixed that as far as I can tell.

 

Following the updates. Most things are still broken. Just a few here for you.
No animations play when using the lighting panel, well done for adding the material back in though.




The coaches still looks super wet inside??


No sounds on inside doors, most vestibule doors dont have sounds either.


Lights still on the roof. come on i paid you guys for this dlc i feel like you should be paying me.

Quite a noticble texture bug which is still present from release

 

Has this been fixed in the latest update or are we still left with funny sounding doors?

 

On one of them I think I went from P’boro all the way to Newark before I saw an Azuma. Ridiculous.

If it's Inverness to Kyle with a Class 26, yes.

An electric one handle bus stop - not really.

Until we know what it is and the standard we can expect from their route building team, I will keep an open mind.

 

I’ll take anything as long as rivet are locked in the basement without electricity to “develop” a route.

 

Do the 47 and MK1s layer in to Blackpool or WCMLoS at all as AI?

Are they both also selectable for timetable player services on Blackpool or WCMLoS?

 

The 47 layers onto Blackpool Branches, not sure about the Mk1's. I dont use the 47 (until its been fixed).

Oh its definitely been "fixed"

 

Just bought it today in the Steam sale....... Class 47 cab windows still don't have the frame move just the glass (I thought this was meant to have been fixed in the April 28th Update???)

Also in Livery Designer all the mk1 coaches that come with the add on are shown as a BG rather than the correct image for that coach??? (As well as the spelling mistake on the BSO)

 

The window frame actually moves down in one end off the cab and not the other.

 

So just checked and the cab window works as it should in just one cab like you say....... But it's the cab the game never puts you in to start any timetable run.

I thought it was worth a punt in the sale at a fiver but it’s still bugged to hell.

Absolutely awful content and QC….. Refund requested and given by Steam.

DTG/Athena hang your heads in shame at simple things still not being fixed two months and numerous game updates after release.
