Liveries Rail 200. Preparations And Ideas For September.

I have around 700 decals per coach. So not a lot.
It would be something like this. So just a little snippet of information yet I will add a much as I can. I have two spaces either side to fill so that would be roughly around 350 letters, PER side.

So would this mean we’re needing more of the communities work. How many items could be at this event?.

Afternoon, Happy Easter’s to you too. As you can see I totally forgot. Told you don’t celebrate any occasions or birthdays.

Anyway thank you so much for offering your assistance. I don’t want to add pressure but if you could then you a have space with your name on it waiting. If it’s something you local to and have basic knowledge then again that’s a start.

I’d do a list but I am only looking for.
Okay a list.
Historically information such as:
Engineering achievements. Dates names places.
History of the Birth of the WCML and what made it what is today.
Facts, like it’s one of the busiest networks in the UK and EU. So facts about tonnage used or numbed of traffic on the WCML.
Information about the many deviations, the past operational companies before many was amalgamated leaving one or two to carry on it the late 40s. LNWR the main big company then British Rail.
History of LNWR locomotive designs, again dates names etc.
Even famous locos that set any records.

Historical records of the life of the WCML.

I’m trying to do the same of the APT E livery with technical drawings and specifications on the side.
Historically facts about the APT E, just placing a Rail 200 logo on a livery just ain’t working for me.
It needs more, more purpose and be more relevant to Rail 200 as a event to celebrate accomplishments of the past and even the present if it’s of interest of a major milestone. I would like this to be part of the work I do going forward.

Drawings, technical data, historical information and fun facts.

So if you could help with anything mentioned in or out of the list, then as I say a place is waiting

Exhibits at the event; so I've worked it out: (all of these are as it stands, and could change)

'Locomotives' section:
Sidings: 4
Used: 3
Available: 1

'Diesel Multiple Units' section:
Sidings: 4
Used: 0
Available: 4 (obviously!)

'Electric Multiple Units' section:
Sidings: 7
Used: 3
Available: 4

(Plus a few spare sidings located close to where the EMUs are... (if we have more locomotive exhibits for example!)).

Hope this helps you and the community figure out what's still available .

Mmmm, I am not to sure as the word killing is used. It could also be seen as distasteful to some or even harmful to a TM interest.
It could get reported or even blocked by DTG, as again we know how silly the situation is with wording on describing work on CC.
Having on the side of a train is risk I can’t afford to take or worry about.

Hey if it was me then probably yes, it’s factual and historical I accept that. But I also have to accept that some may take offence easily.

History only likes to celebrate the good, not the bad. We remember the bad not celebrate it.
Or we mark it as an event such WW1 for example. Bad. To remember but we celebrate the anniversary of VE Day, Victory in Europe. Good.

So unfortunately I can’t accept that. Am I wrong?.
I am not sure of my decision to be fair.

But if you could think of something else then it will clear any doubts I have on refusing your first request.

I’d love for you to be on the livery. To help a little more my Team member JPlayz has requested a little list in which I have done.

It may help you with something that I can add. Then your a winner then

Okay so a bit of space available. Is this enough space tho?. Could we add another scenario or see if you would like a community member come forward and Join the team.

More hands can lighten the load. Each location could be one of each theme then. Steam. DMU. EMU. Diesel Traction. The rolling stock.
So old rail wagons etc. I know load of users love to see wagons etc.

Would it be a good idea to try have this approach. I don’t know, you understand what it takes.
But by you adding this clear list then as a community member myself then it’s clear what’s needed and what is or could be the problem.

Clarity. I am a simple man.
So the list you have provided I understand perfectly. And so see what’s missing. A mixed theme or separate theme locations.
This I feel would be a great way for users of the community to see clearly what is needed. There is chance for a number of different theme available for all users tastes.

We could even add more services as more liveries became available.
It could assist you, and it would allow me to push what could be done if I feel having a forth member on the scenario side would help me achieve a bigger goal and us as a Team is greater success for providing something extra special for this Project and for its core theme.

Celebrating Railway 200 here on TSW5, as TTB perfectly pointed out. People may not be able to go to the real Great Gathering.
Yet we all can by doing it this way and we can all be part of it together admiring each others work. Different themes and settings.

Your the scenario guy tho and so you understand the complexities, thus I am willing to discuss privately if this is an opportunity if you feel like me that this would help others be involved. Be directly as a Team member or make it simpler for users like me that ain’t good at understanding the work you do. And what we actually need. My failing to ask a basic simple question as Team Leader.

Hello Folks.

I feel brave enough to quickly touch upon my recent outburst. I am still trying to figure out why acted the way I did.
Other than the things I have already publicly said. Then if you will all forgive me then please I don’t want any bad feelings and I publicly apologise for my mistake. I now I shouldn’t be so publicly vocal.

I would like to continue from what we had here but not without making some form of apology from the Thread creator and Project Leader.
Me.

And so I would like to move on, in a more positive direction. One being my long post.

Here I will make things short and sweet for the benefit of all that come here.
And so because I will be speaking from what work I am working on or will be doing soon on a individual basis then all my livery work is still ongoing.

So if all is forgiven then id like to see a few more messages for the 390. I will be post more information in the near future.

But before I go, then I am working on something that I would like you all to get involved with if we all like a bit of rivalry.
Didn’t stop LMS and LNER And so when I have time to explain more about this I will.

Oh and its little competition to keep Mr Mystery on his toes, I know he likes a bit of competition.
I admire him for that and I owe him some credit to what I am doing with the 390 014. He came up with the mix Avanti idea.
So again I have to give him credit for that. Not me.

Okay then, I said I would try be short and sweet so I am.

I thank all that still support what we have here. I still need to pick up some pieces tho before I say something silly on the situation of the R200 project. As I still have to be away for DIY duties, I just hope when I return there is something still left.

If nothing is left then I didn’t need to take a battle on because others fixed the situation.
I will know my answers either way.

Actions always speak louder than words.
And so I am prepared to take responsibility for my actions and any consequences that may result from them.
In order to move on and understand where to spend my time most.

I have a small announcement to make. The Railway 200 channel have recently released a youtube video with information about Network Rail's "Inspiration" train. When I get more information, I will try and complete this. I'll post a link below for anyone interested in this particular project:

I knew about the Inspiration Concept for while. So be great to see how they have got on.
It was part of the work I haven’t had time to complete.
This one. This is meant to be “Inspiration Two” after this one.

But due to worries and no proper answer from GBRTT or GBRf placed them to the back of the shed.

So it will be a intriguing watch. Thank you for adding this.

I remember seeing these at the start of the thread. They were actually what got me interested in doing my part in Rail 200 in the first place. It would be great for you to get them out, but I can understand why they have been shelved. Still they look great

 

Well can’t say to much but again if you seen them and I told GBRf about them and explained what they was for then even invited them down , then why not support us?.

Yet sadly heard nothing back they just left it in the Air mate. So the very thing that got you interested in this project the one I said would be good for their PR, is the one not on show or on CC. How can I commit to weeks even months spent on a livery that may get pulled or even have a simple yes from GBRf you can put a Rail 200 logo across our livery. And a simple yes or no if I am from GBRTT for altering a Trademark slightly. Even emailed them the pictures you see so they knew it wasn’t anything offensive or detrimental to Rail 200.
But I’m waffling.

It’s a Shame really that GBRTT never seen the potential nor Did GBRf. In that we’re trying our best by doing this for fans, so how come they can’t support us to achieving that. It’s one I can never answer and so one I no longer concern myself about.

What’s meant to be will be, the future is not ours to see

Well today is full of surprises.

Glad to here we’re still part of a TEAM. And I’m so glad this has not been a battle and has fixed itself.

Thanks TG08. I was going to DM as I am nearly done at home. Just doing a big move today.
So I will be back soon, and yes we will get those liveries in.

If you could please, them I could do with some assistance getting historical information for the 390 014. It’s on hold because of lack of users engagement. I completely failed for providing a DMU for the new Photo thread too.

A lot needs to be done. But as a leader I must sit down with my fellow Teammates to discuss any future changes.

Thank God there are some pieces remaining to pick this back up.

I suppose I have you guys to thank for that.
So I do.

You have both stuck together and by the project thus still standing and supporting me.
I will do the same not that I ever stopped.

Things got on top of me. Remember we are all Human. We all make mistakes it’s what we do to right any wrong matters that mean something. Mistakes happen for us to see and to learn.

So hopefully we can do things better next time.
We live and we learn. All depends on what life we live hence what we learn from that life is Key.

To be on a path of greatness or one of nothing.
Hopefully the Team are all on the same path now. The path of success.

Even if it means doing it all ourselves. A path means destiny. We don’t get luck we make our own luck, by making something happen.

Hello all.

Okay it’s been some time since posting and looking at what’s been happening here over my brief break which I am still on.
So anything I say here today is NOT a final decision, as this is a discussion only as a Team can make.
Yet if I feel I am wasting my time on this side of the project. As I have placed a few things for the community to get involved with but if I am to be blunt it is dead. Why is that?. I don’t know so again before I make any further decisions I will ask you the community what could be done and why are you not engaging. Is it my attitude? I don’t know so this why I am asking.

What can I or we do as a Team to make this what we want.

Because I feel right now and I am only speaking my mind here, then I do feel I am completely wasting my time.
As an individual of the Team and as a community member. Why waste my time if no one is interested.
It’s pointless on flocking a dead Horse, meaning why carry on if no one is around or interacting with us.

This is NOT a sympathy card so sympathetic opinions is not in play here. I’m not looking for sympathy I am looking at facts and based of facts take action. Be hard truths or not, either way I feel if I am wasting my time being here and asking for some quotations for a livery and only get one. Then it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what to do.

Which leave me with Two options.
ONE: This thread serves its purpose which means we and the community interact, and so do all Team members including myself function and with the task in each members hands.
(Here I feel I need to clear somethings up first with a community member, but this is personal).
TWO: Walk away if all of the above fails to improve from not only from a community project side but one of not overcoming possible Team difficulties.

Again as leader of this Project I have a lot to answer for, and again take all responsibility for my actions be of positive influence or negative energy. I am not perfect. I can only try, so on my return I will be trying.

I will be focusing what ever comes of this and I will be having a Team meeting very soon. As again speaking my mind here then guys I know you have been busy and I may have left it your hand on a bad note, but a thread can’t be of interest if there is nothing of interest or substance to see or read.
Unfortunately I thought by leaving the project in your hands I’d see the odd thing of interest.
Yet again I can understand why and so I can’t completely blame anyone, except me.

And so if this is to be a project or thread to remain active I will be taking a different hard line approach to get the Job done.
My failure as leader being so soft. So this is why I am letting it be known that every team member must pull their weight including myself.
To provide the quality I want for the scenario and for followers of this thread.

I as leader of a project and owner of this thread I have to take action and be responsible for them both.
Therefore taking any necessary steps to ensure the success of the Team and the Project is right, so the work or post seen on this thread is one of quality and interest.

If not then as I say I will have to make a decision if I can’t pick this project back up to where and what I envisioned for this project from the start.

Until then I will see the damage from this post as it will be a sudden one for some. And see how you the community feel, as again all along you was crucial to the success of this project, a gamble and risk I took as so did the Team.
But I have to be realistic here and look at the situation.

If it’s not working regardless of what I or we do as a Team then why waste our time.
Especially on project for Railway 200 yet we can’t even get support from GBRTT.

So yes I am sorry for the tone and the nature of the announcement, but I hope anyone that reads can understand that any Team member , be Me, TG08 or Jplays devoting so much to this behind the scenes and for nothing then. We have to ask why continue if you the community haven’t helped us make this a success.

It works both way folks. Talking to oneself is a sign of Madness. Or doing the same over and over with the same results.

Now that’s Madness. I maybe crazy but I am certainly not Mad.
Hence I will try again but in a different way as not to get the same results as now.
And I will most certainly walk away if I am talking to myself.

Hey it’s okay it’s an easy thing to do, I swayed off path a little.

Right some basics answers for you because being a fool is not asking questions. If you don’t ask you don’t get

Okay as its stands I’d simply say have fun and go wild. The freedom to be creative be a pro or not.
The whole point of what I and the Team want is a variety of classes with different styles but all in relation to Railway 200.
As again this is community based with a few fans coming together to celebrate our 200 years of Rail heritage and innovations.

So it’s crucial that is part of your main theme, how you mix that theme with what takes your fancy then that’s your creative freedom.
The Great Gathering on TSW5 is still on and so need the required liveries set by me and TG08.
TG08 is dealing what we the Team needs, as am I so I will try see if TG08 can pop a list up for gaps still available.

Don’t be alarmed if you see nothing that you would like to approach. Ie no certain Class etc.
I was hoping to discuss this further before I had to leave here suddenly. So hopefully this can be rectified soon.

It’s kinda of up in the air, so for now I’d would suggest that you just have some fun, and I will then advise or notify you of any changes as and when. As I say I have been away so need so see what’s on and what’s not.

I will be around and be back soon, the Team should be on hand to assist with any more questions.

ok so just 200 years of rail and no holds barred lol ok ... might do MP36PH (F59 is nice, but I drive F125 and MP36PH more since they got more power for inclines) for AVL/SBL then (done F125 recently with Ukraine-theme)... if you mean LA Lakers, thats NBA, basketball ... not as much a fan of the team as of LeBron James and Luka Doncic

 

For ease of reference then I will show you most of what I am working on.

I am working on this as a project leader and as an individual just making liveries.
Meaning I don’t demand or expect all if any of my work to be shown.

Yet to quickly clarify what Class then I would say mostly UK based. But this is a game and so no harm in using a EU loco.
The only problem I have is no scenario planned or in the works as I have no control over scenarios as I can’t make them.
I could right now say if you do make liveries solely EU based and you can make scenarios then welcome aboard the R200 Team.
That’s if you where willing to accept, then I’d have to discuss many matters before I could officially offer you a position with us.

As I say I need to sit down with my Team before I go promising anything.
But we have no EU theme and so I see why it can’t be included.

Okay just a few,
All UK, with limited availability or variety of Class, Ie I want to see some Class 20s and different eras of wagons etc.
But I can’t make scenarios in order to assist my Team or even add what I feel fit.

Ie I maybe leader but my hands are tied as what my Team does is out the goodness of their hearts.

Of course . We have a GWE HST already, but it would be great to have the MML HST as well, so you have both of them together (as they have two different engines) .

Yes no holds barred as long as it’s not offensive to the TM or the community. But yes other than that, Knock your self out.
And hey I am up for some US locos, I love them and the routes we have. So sure I’d love to see something on US locos.
Even if it’s for your self or for CC for now, if I manage to short a EU or US scenario out then you livery can be used in that scenario.

For your F125, Ukraine theme can you show me a picture or link please

And I get it now I knew I thought I’d heard about lakers before and not the Airline that went bust, lol.
As you can see I have no clue about Basketball ball apart from it goes through a loop, and the players need a red beacon attached to their heads.

Each has slightly different Ukrainian trident (as I had to create each one from scratch, probably the most effective was the one on F125), as for the sunflower, I think I got a nice hang of it on the 323 and applied almost same steps on F125 (the one on 146.2 is a bit simpler)... color codes should be correct HSV values for Ukrainian colors ... 377 sub-theme is some infamous massacres from the current war (tho I botched the spelling of the most recent one, which is Sumy, not Suma) and 323 makes use of the famous Slava Ukraini! Heroyam Slava! slogan

I dont know yet what I will put on the new livery, if you like these, maybe I could combine this theme with that 200yrs one... or I can try sth completely fictional

Okay well firstly thank you for sharing your work, it’s a really good looking design and it’s really does stand out.
I like the different Trident’s and the flowers looks well ace to be fair. The only downside to using a livery like this is that it’s political in nature.
Railways 200 is a UK national event to celebrate the Historical Heritage of Rail. So to include anything of a political nature certainly clashes with the core theme of celebrating Railway 200.

Railway 200 is not my event so here is a link to explain what Railway 200 is all about.
You will see that the event or events are taking place around the UK and have been for some time.
The Big event or main event for real is at Derby in September. What we the R200 Team is simply doing is the greatest gathering on TSW5.

Hopefully this will give you some inspiration on what to do.

The work you have shown me is really impressive yet not an ideal theme for the nature of the official event.
I mean if you still wanted to do that I can’t stop you but it sadly wouldn’t be something we could use due to again its political nature.
The Railway Trademark doesn’t belong to me either so I or anyone else wishing to create something for the event would have to also respect that Trademark. The owners of the Trademark might have some reservations about Rail200 being used against a political one.

It’s a shame as I can see that you’re passionate about taking that route but it’s not the right theme to go along with the core theme of the Official Railway 200 event. Nothing stopping you from having a go but again we can’t use that due to its political agenda.
I am very much into world views and politics in general, what I support or don’t and any political views is what can be harmful.
So personally and to keep to topics or theme of this thread then political agendas don’t belong here for obvious reasons.

Please don’t think I am being personal towards you, for that isn’t the case. All I am saying is History and celebrating the birth or modern rail is the core theme here. Not politics.

As an example I made these some time back. The theme is political in nature, and so I got nervous and pulled one or two I think.
My own company HOOKHAUL trying to End War. Hence the little slogan. And unit names.
Now if you compare them to the work I have done for Rail 200 then you will see the differences between themes.

And so to wrap up you can see I do support the odd cause, but it has its own place as does Rail 200.
They doing sit right with each other.

If you can find a way to build some historical significance to your livery based on Rail then run with that.
Again this is a game and so we have to relax and say all countries can take part as each country has made their own history.
So when I get time I will be doing a US a theme to see how it works, it’s different and a little bit of fun reading up on historical facts, then trying to get it to work.

Looking for the inspiration for ideas can be as much fun as making a livery.
So yes just have fun, I am sorry I can’t use or have political opinions etc on a thread dedicated to Rail 200.

I hope you can understand that I’m just respecting the Trademark and the events theme. The decision is not one of my personal views or political views.

You may wish to place them on The Works Shed tho. You may find some tips etc oh and a load of waffles from me, so if you visit the works shed I would suggest taking some Jam with you

I know it is political, yet I could try to fit it in, as you may know UK is among the foremost supporters of Ukraine right now (together with France, daemn )... since I have already started and am pretty deep into creating a livery, will try to fit into what you have just written with what I am doing atm will share it and see what you think when I am done

Yeah its annoying it took so long, but I'm glad it's worked. I'm just happy it wasn't anything like interference. I think that would have put me off using LNR for a livery again so I'm glad this has been resolved.

Yes it is very political yet again I have deeper views and understanding of what’s going on. That’s all I will say as we are speaking about politics. Never a good subject due to dividing views and the risk of causing harm or offending a person or group.
This is me abiding by the community site rules.

So again I will not be getting involved with any UK or Ukrainian subject. This is for Rail 200 which has no relevance whatsoever in who the UK government supports. GBRTT is a completely separate organisation or body. Meaning it has no connection with anything the UK government has to say or who they support.

This thread and its subject matter is only Railway 200 related and NOT one of political matters.

I am not being rude but I have rules to follow and have respect for a TM, which mean you too could be running a risk of having the work pulled on CC. It’s could be classified as detrimental to Rail 200 branding. All that is out of my hand mate, and so I’d strongly advise against it if you don’t want you hard work wasted.

As I say I will not be using any political views or personal agendas on a Rail 200 livery.
Its bad taste and so could be seen as detrimental to the TM Logo.

I also signed a contract say on the rights of use, remember the Rail 200 logo does not belong to me nor you.
We can only use this logo for free no license fee under certain circumstances or conditions.
This conditions set out by the licence holder I have signed, thus in a contract or agreement of terms of use.

Meaning I now have a responsibility to withhold those terms of use. As this is a project and so it too has to comply with those terms and conditions to which I have signed and agreed. My thread my Project so all my responsibility to remain within those conditions of use.

If I was to use your work then I feel I am a risk of breaching that agreement. Hence be reprimanded for.
A lot of people look at this thread, who are they I don’t know. Meaning if anyone offical from GBRTT sees what’s going on then it only takes one email to DTG.

So again unfortunately I can’t not use your livery due to its nature and in any Rail 200 political format going forward.
It would be like me putting Stop Trump Tariffs next to Rail 200, it doesn’t work, like drinking bleach to kill Covid. Hahaha.

I’m sorry but it doesn’t work.
Nothing personal I just have rules to follow that’s all, thus responsibilities.

Hmmm. I'd say try option 1 first. We've come so far already, it would be a shame to give up now. But I know what you mean as we haven't had much engagement at all. The only thing we've had is a few other interested members who have been interested, which I'm truly grateful for, but no one's actually commented because they want to see more of what we do which is a shame. We may need to have a meeting on this when you get a chance with TG08 as this is pivotal to what we do next.

Thought I'd jump in here,
I agree with you. If we do add politics to the mix, it could end up harming our work as well as the main theme: Rail 200. As you have already stated, the logo is to be used for the livery in an appropriate manner. There is a PDF from the Rail 200 site on how to use their logos if you want me to link it as I feel this will nicely touch on what you have stated.

Yes, I agree it’s a pivotal moment but look at the circumstances. My conduct and my departure is a reason.
Yet again before I left I was acting on my own judgment and one of TG08s concerns. I had 3 “I”s on that issue raised by TG08.
So we had the same issue before I left if you get my drift.

And so I have been doing a lot of thinking. I’m sure TG08 and you have too. So I think I will stick with one. Pull it back to where we was a week ago or so and look at this in more serious long term topic. As TG08 is having a little rough patch with his latest analysis or announcement in regards to His own work and thread.

But hey why worry what’s the worst that could happen. Yet on the flip side of that what good could happen.
Everyday there is something new, a new challenge a new way to learn and grow. Even heal.

It’s not about the destination but the Journey that matters most.
If we can’t survive the journey we won’t ever reach our destination.

Hence I am happy as Larry either way. I had some fun and met some great people and friends along the way.
Because sometime we don’t need to take a journey because you have already arrived.
