Doesn't the game use liveries you download on A.I traffic anyway? So, it should happen if you have the liveries?

Yeah but ones you can download, take the game’s performance down and some times causes blurry textures, if we have official versions it doesn’t cause as much strain on the game

 

Just seen in the roadmap that DTG have re acquired the GWR licence. Does this mean that the 387 and FGW liveries locos will feature branding in the remaster rather than being unbranded?

The GWR 387 I would assume so. The FGW HSTs depends on whether or not they still hold the same position which caused them to not be featured in the first place.

 

I think we will see FGW branding tbh. An interesting thing I noted in the announcement about the licence was the bit where it said "This has opened the doors for us to not only create classic liveries" - that honestly sounds like FGW to me. And even more reason why I think we will see it is that there was plenty of FGW liveried vehicles on those farewell HSTs. There was a lot of HSTs still largely in FGW livery since they'd be leaving soon so they had no reason to repaint them anyway.

Well hopefully it can change in the future, cause I'd love to see it given the FGW branding was so prominent back when GWE is set. Still excited regardless though for the remaster and farewell pack.

 

These liveries are currently available to download from the hub. I’m not trying to be negative here, and I appreciate this update means they can be implemented into the timetable, but we’ve had a Valenta HST option suggested over and over again, and this is just another underwhelming reskin. Yes - I’m aware the HST’s had MTU engines fitted during their farewell, before anyone raises this! lol.

 

With all due respect, the Creators Club liveries are substantially lower quality compared to an official livery. You can quite literally see the individual pixels as they’re so low resolution. They also lack refinements and official details, such as name plates.

I’d too like to see a Valenta HST, however I wouldn’t call an official livery an ‘underwhelming reskin’. Far from it.

 

Right, I guess I will have to remove the creator club liveries to gain performance, shame.

Can you explain why your gameplay pack is in the 0-3 month section (presumably it’s yours?) and the remaster is much further out? Surely we need the remaster first?

Ah yeah, I get what you're saying now. I guess I just misinterpreted / read too much into it. Pfp probably gives it away, but I am very much a big fan of the class FGW liveries, so hopefully that chance will come, fingers crossed. Either way, undeniably good news to have GWR back as an option.

Hey there Liam, I was wondering if we could speak privately. What you are doing has only now been brought to my attention.
You may or may not be aware of what I am currently doing with a few community members.

Trying to replicate The Greatest Gathering. I approached DTG Matt with this idea as with GBRTT themselves.

I find what’s been recently announced in the latest Road Map of great interest, based on this I’d like to discuss something with you if possibly. I’d like to see how open to the community you are with ideas and concepts.
Things like this as a special Class 43 livery say. I have run out of decal as you can see. So can you come to the rescue?.

Here’s some the class 43 with some 390s and 37 501. All done for the R200 Project. I’d like to carry the theme seen on the class 43 but due to decal limit is proving difficult at the moment as I say.

Why not just be appreciative of the remaster, than being demanding and bratty?

Liam is known for his eye for detail and will most likely get round to it in his own time, or when is practically possible. He doesn't need demanding people telling him what to do or demanding things are done to cater for them... He knows what to do, and he'll do it when he has time, and at his own pace.

 

Licensing I imagine.

Will the 166, and I suppose in precursor the 165 be added to the livery editor when the update releases? I've always been dying to get my hands on them and never found out why the weren't added to livery editor in TSW2?

Really interested in the GWR remaster. I note the pics released yesterday show an unbranded HEX service sat in Paddington. I don’t recall if the Heathrow line was originally in the route but would be a welcome addition.

The HEX part is now ERTMS from pad to Heathrow although the signals coexist for now. I hope that is incorporated in the update ?

be nice to see the ATP work as well as it’s been part of the route for 35 years

I think by "classic liveries" the heritage BR Blue and Executive liveries were meant. I doubt GWR has changed its position on FGW branding.

The 387s are Heathrow Express, which is a separate TOC and license from GWR (Heathrow Express Operating Company, a subsidiary of Heathrow Airport Holdings)

 

The upcoming farewell HST pack will have the vinyl wraps as they were in real life. They are just modern MTU HSTs wrapped into classic liveries, so I don't know why they'd need to be anything more than an "underwhelming reskin." A Valenta HST would be a large amount of work, and would be completely inaccurate for GWE for obvious reasons.

If DTG added the ability to import SVGs into the livery editor, and the ability to enable and customise vehicle numbering, then the livery editor would become useful. With the way it is now there's not much of a reason to have it in the game at all. Every good reskin for TSW is a PAK file livery, which has its own downsides because of the way TSW is designed.

 

I think you’re missing the point. I’ve already acknowledged they are MTUs in my comment. I’m not sure what qualifies as “a large amount of work”, but potentially liaising with Armstrong Powerhouse regarding the soundpack and making minor changes to the model is not a gargantuan task.

Regarding “completely innacurate for GWE”, the diesel legends dlc was released specifically for this route, and of course features the class 52 western, built 20 years before the HST.

 

To be honest I am quickly starting to hate livery designer as yes as you state those liveries are available on Creators Club and as londonmidland pointed out they are substantially lower quality. Let alone a drain on system resources. The FPS drops are well bad when locos wagons or units spawn with a CC livery.. As with the norm for CC liveries you may not get one loco livery spawn but will more than likely get it spawn four or five times during your run. So although these maybe reskins in a sense, they will not bring my FPS down and self repeat to infinity during your run. So I prefer the real deal than someones low textured effort. And in no way is that disrespect to any one that makes a livery.
