Guard Mode!

Hi! On all compatible routes from the guard mode are very Many bugs! I can’t be a guard on every Route. At the Birmingham route i get reset to the menu all the time!! Please bring an Update!!‘

 

Guard Mode on the Birmingham route is not yet working as it should.

 

What about Glossop Line

 

The Glossop Line scenario should be working fine, but guard mode is not in timetable mode on that route.

 

Why not

 

Glossop Line and Birmingham Cross City were originally released for Train Sim World 3. Guard mode was still in heavy development back then.

DTG was testing guard mode on Birmingham Cross City since TSW3, but this was never revealed to the public until recently. In order to test out how it would be received by players (and maybe as a further test for the technology), DTG released the scenario for the Glossop Line.

2 years later, we have guard mode as a new feature in Train Sim World 5. Since Birmingham Cross City was the test for guard mode, we are soon going to be able to play as a guard in timetable mode on that route. However, since Glossop Line's timetable was not built with a guard mode, so we are limited to that one scenario.

 

I take it that Guard Mode on Birmingham Cross City does not work?

If I try to use it, after I open and then close the doors and press the buzzer, nothing happens. On the map the train is marked as "Current status: Stop Movement Locked".

The ticket checking does seem to work.

Guard Mode Not working on and route!!!!

 

I assume you're saying "any" route? If so that's not the case on PC at least, I did a MK to EUS on a 350 from the TT menu yesterday and it worked OK.

Not tried the GER or US ones though.

Yes but on the route WCML is by me the same problem. And on Frankfurt Fulda drives the train when I whistle bevor the guard door is closed.

 

Nobody updated this thread about guard mode on BCC, it’s fully working fine (for me anyway). Would still like to see it implemented on more trains/routes though as we approach TSW6

 

Yeah, works fine on BCC - would love to see it ported onto the MHG as it's the same (basically) train model. Although I can't actually recall if the MHG class 323 has the middle carriage guard panel or not.
