Well that's a bit underwhelming tbh.

I understand why volume 3 was more substitutions than new services, but hopefully volumes 4 and 5 will make up for that since they're bringing totally new cargo types.

Is it normal that the HOA’s in Cargoline vol. 3 do not have any VTG branding? Grafitti is still there tho.

Maybe for the next MML update we could get the Ratcliffe sidings opened up, I know on the original release it was not intended to be accessible, but it only needs a certain bridge raising a few feet, and some fences/clutter?

Nice to have the power cars and MK3 coaches separately in formation designer.

One small point: While the MK3 coaches seem to spawn with the correct numbering when using formation designer, the full length HST's in timetable mode still have them all showing the same 43### number. Maybe one for a future update

Thanks for the question. The HOA hoppers are part of the Cargo Vol.2 Aggregates pack, is that what you mean? Vol.3 is the Intermodal pack with FCA container wagons.

I believe the VTG branding is part of the same system that applies the graffiti (they're all 'stickers' that get added to the side). Therefore its impossible for the VTG brand to appear alongside any graffiti. This was a stipulation by the licensing team so as not to deface the branding. A very reasonable request we were happy to accommodate.

 

Erm yep, can confirm. On PS5 all the carriages had the number 43257 lol.

 

Also, 1D90 has a scheduled time of 16 minutes.

The text says drive the service from Leicester to Derby but it loads up at East Midlands Parkway.

 

Yup. Spawned a HST and all the coaches are 43277. For reference, spawned the same service in TSW4 and it's the same, all 43274.

I notice, since the update, I now have three HST. The original 2+6 and 2+8 are now joined with a generic HST set.?

Can confirm carriage numbering bug exists on PC.

 

I thought this covers both variants, so you see all services at once (2+6 and 2+8).

 

Did a guard mode run from Nottingham to Derby. Had no tickets to check from Nottingham, Beeston, or Attenborough. Did get a few at Long Eaton, thankfully or that would have been a very pointless run.

 

Interesting. How many AI intermodals from GWE were there before the update? I recall seeing them from time to time.

To be fair, Skyhook did not advertise CLI as being an add-on for MML. I rather see it as a bonus, like the two (?) scenarios for CLA on SEHS. which I like.

 

I drove one like this the other day, before the update. I don't know whether it was the same service though.

 

Is there an article on what’s been updated on this route? I’d like to read the changes.

I wonder how it's improved? There seemed to be less of it to me. Maybe that is the improvement...?

It's nice to see the steam effects at Ratcliffe Power Station though

 

There are more wagons including intermodals as well as the occasional 66. Before there were only some aggregate wagons.

That’s a huge amount of changes. DTG should hire these guys as the new preservation team. We need more love shown for older content, rather than it becoming abandonware.

 

I just ran HST service 1C21 from Nottingham to Leicester, and it crashed just before Leicester Station. I had medium clouds custom weather on PS5. This was the first crash on this route since the December 2023 patch was released.

Apologies for the confusion. Yes, I have the HOA pack from Vol 2 and currently using it with it Skyhook’s WCML timetable.
I wasn't aware of the conditions attached regarding the branding and graffiti. I am most grateful for the information mate.

Yeah. I feel that now that timetables and remasters are being released, I think some of the older content should be updated (whether that involves new timetables, or just newer scenery to meet the latest standard for the game).

 

Just before Mountsorrel there are some weird track shadow textures....

 

I think the HST that layers on to ECML needs updating. Some of the coach numbering and lettering is correct but on others, they're numbered 01234 and seem to have old window materials that are almost opaque.

Unsure if that's a DTG or Skyhook job though

It's probably already been mentioned but the layers list now has a layer called 'nuclear'.

 

DJsnapattack It looks like you have mods installed as MML does not come with grass at Mountsorrel yard like that or cabling trunking and trackside vegetation like that.

I tried looking for that signal gantry in your first shot, but could not find the location anywhere. There are no curves with auto signals around Mountsorrel. Can you show a 2D Map location at all?

Regarding the new 3rd HST in the timetable menu. This comes from making the individual power car available for Formation Designer and Free Roam. The Power Car holds the name to the train for the menu, but is also inside other HST formations. Previously the power car itself was hidden from being individually selectable for this reason.

 

There are two or 3 rakes of FCA intermodal wagons. If you dont have Cargo Line 3 Intermodal, then I dont think they will show up.
There are two class 66's in the Yard. They will spawn with CC liveries as well. There are 3 MFA wagons. Two at the Nottingham end of the Yard, but not coupled up. and one in the undergrowth at the Beeston Station end of the yard. Can you find it?

Hi Adam. Just a quick question, if I have Cargo Line Volumes 1 to 3 installed on Gen8 (PS4), what would installing SEH bring to the table in terms of additional AI traffic (the layer selector mentions "aggregates"?

Liking MML and the update very much btw.

Thanks for the question. SEH is a very full route and so DTG have been nervous about us doing anything with it. To this end, Cargo Line only brings two scenarios from the Aggregates pack to the route. We were not permitted to touch anything else.

 

Sorry, Adam. I think I phrased my question wrongly.

I mean the MML route. There is a layer in the selector named "Southeastern High Speed Aggregates", My question is does SEH add any further services to MML if you already have the three Cargo Line packs installed?

Its a layer that utilises the Southeastern Highspeed updated JNA wagons.

yeah, if you check SEHS (if you have it) the update has knackered the numbering there too. It's somehow numbered all the A coaches 01234! all other coaches are individually numbered

 

Well said. I’m getting a bit fed up with UK routes with fast trains being given shorter than necessary routes. This doesn’t seem to be a thing on the US and German routes so much, witness Frankfurt-Fulda and others, Antelope, San Bernardino etc. we need parity. When they did do a slightly longer route for the Azuma they ruined it by sticking it out in the middle of bloody nowhere.
Now we can’t give an HST a decent run out on either MML or GWE, though at least it gets a bit of stopping action before bursting our eardrums.
But the poor old Pendolino just gets to run fast from A to B in about the most boring drives imaginable. Which DTG clown thought this was a good idea? An expensive DLC that if someone knocks on your door halfway through, by the time you’ve answered and said no thanks you don’t need new windows, it’s hit the ruddy buffers in MK!
Please extend MML as UK players need a decent route for that most classic of fast trains. It’s called inter city for a reason.

Finally the internal lights are fixed, if you had the doors open and moved the camera, the internal lights would be on and then off.

 

It's been said that MML WILL NOT get an extension.

I think we know that, but it doesn't stop the annoyance of being sold important sections of mainlines with subpar route lengths that will prevent them from being touched.

Could have done a short route anywhere else on the midland mainline but here means that any release for erewash valley, Derby to Sheffield or Notts to Lincoln will also be terribly short so we either (for the mml) don't get anything but a route out of London or more tiny patchworks of routes.

Needs to be better oversight of routes or extensions need to be made more feasible for developers.
