      oldsrocket#2403 Thank you sir.
I hail from NAR country and grew up visiting the yard and shop in Edmonton regularly to railfan with my dad. This image is shown in bright noon sunlight so the unit looks a little washed out, but the colours are proper when viewed under normal lighting or in the LD viewer. As a side note, the NAR's late practice of naming locos after famous or prominent Alberta individuals was carried over by naming this one after my dad. I just had to have an NAR "in game" to run, so there it is even though it's fictitious.

BLRy I too am from Alberta. Originally from Calgary, but up in Edmonton these days. I was surprised by the size of CN's presence when I moved up here. CN seems to have just a dinky little spur down in calgary by comparison haha

oldsrocket#2403 Yes CN is THE major player up north. And after the NAR buyout from CP the ONLY player north of the NS River. I lived in Old Strathcona for 21 years growing up and so spent a lot of time at the CP yards there too. In fact - interesting historical tidbit - my dad designed, proposed, and oversaw the building of End of Steel Park there, and I organized and supervised the restoration of the caboose that went into it. I was sad to hear the various vandalism, fire, and other deteriorations of it over the years since I left in '99. As for CN in Cow Town... we also spent a lot of time at Sarcee yards - got my first cab ride there in '79 - and we also spent a lot of time in CP's Alyth and Ogden in Cow Town. Saw the Silver Streak AMRoad locos in person after filming down there too. In fact, they filmed along that line across the old steel bridge that you can access the yards from. It was really cool as a kid to see the film locations and equipment.

BLRy That would've been cool to see the old silver streak filming in Calgary in the 70s. Its a great movie, but I always had to chuckle at how lazily disguised that CP set of locomotives is haha. That'd be pretty cool to get involved with restoring a caboose. I'm a carpenter by trade, and they wanted to potentially recruit me at the Northern Alberta Railroad museum to help restore old rail cars on a volunteer basis. I think it'd be fun, but my schedule never seems to line up with theirs

Do it man, no matter your schedule. It is a life moment. I used to be involved with the Alberta Railway Museum too. Way back in it's early days. If you love trains and NAR you will regret not getting involved some day. Just do it man!
