Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition! The theme for this week is: Highspeed Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish. If you wish to make this a Valenta contest thats fine or MTU/VP185, whatever you want! This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: • TSC only shots allowed. • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). • The Judge of the week's decision is final. • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 10PM GMT on Saturday, May 17th 2025 and will be judged by me - PaulC In the event of this week's winner not responding by 10PM GMT on Sunday, May 17th 2025, a new thread will be created using the results of this week's poll.
I'm sure (and hopeful) that there will be people showcasing their newest and fanciest, but here is my humble UK offering. This specific DLC is on my (automatic) list of very underdocumented trains, and while the full run is likely happening coming Saturday, I did a test run to check the weather and I'm absolutely satisfied. Just like with Blazin's RWE shots over the last few years, I find that these old routes have a lot of wonderful sights. For now this is an opportunity to respond in kind to this morning's winner. I didn't do the math but roughly know Darlington to be in the middle, got the pleasant surprise of a distant meet: As for the old routes, given the limited capability of my laptop with TSC I'm intentionally going through old content so that when I get my next rig, assuming it's more suitable, my graphs won't feed the urge to come revisit.
Looking glorious in the low evening sunlight is Valenta powered 43178 speeding a Virgin liveried HST set southbound on the WCML heading for London Euston. Also speeding along is the North bound 12 car Royal Mail Class 325 express parcel train.
Just 40 minutes after leaving the capital, the Midland Mainline 1D52 HST service to Leeds, via Nottingham, takes on passengers at Bedford Station, a distance of 50 miles already covered.
With the 125 mph an ACS-64 would also qualify as a HST - just like a BR 101, ÖBB 1016, etc. - but Here is an Acela arriving at Newark Penn.
British Railways Standard Class 4 4-6-0 '76027' operating a passenger service to Penrith for Ullswater Lake, England in the United Kingdom is seen in the background alongside another southbound train picking up passengers at Cliburn on the northern end of the Eden Valley Railway however the show is stolen as a high-speed mail service speeds past on the West Coast Main Line. Trains: BR Standard Class 4 4-6-0, LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 Route: Stainmore, Shap and Eden Valley Scenario: Darlington to Penrith Local Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Reshade
Deutsche Bahn Class 406s '406 013-3' and '406 501-8' on the front and rear of an ICE 3M set operate a southbound train to Karlsruhe Hbf in Baden-Württemberg, Germany (Deutschland in German) operating over the Rhine Railway (Rheinbahn) during a Summers afternoon. Motive Power: ICE 3M Route: The Rhine Railway: Mannheim - Karlsruhe Scenario: [ICE3] Southbound to Karlsruhe Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, ReShade
The Amtrak Siemens ACS-64 may mostly focus on regional services on the Northeast Corridor and not the express services that trains such as the Acela Express focus on but it is not to be forgotten that they too are very fast and can easily reach the maximum speeds on the Northeast Corridor of 125 mph! Motive Power: Siemens ACS-64 Route: Northeast Corridor: Washington DC - Baltimore Scenario: 2. Tracks Are For Trains Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, ReShade
The 'high' is in Welsh Highland Railway and the 'speed' is 5mph! Taliesin works an early morning local train from Porthmadog Harbour to Beddgellert, pausing for no passengers whatsoever at Nantmor before traversing the scenic Aberglaslyn Pass.
