Hi! After the Italian signal system that's just be ready for the cooking patch from DTG, I'll start to create some objects that's everyone can use in It route and here, im developing some road signs: Yes, it have a full Italian style but I'm quite sure that also in other European nations can be used on! Every object is studied to place a simple placeholder and then customise it with which option you need, to increase the speed to place it instead search inside an infinite mesh folder what your need exactly! Obviously, after that, I'll going to add a lot of things: my goal will be have a free pack in continue expansion where add stuff to complete the scenery around the track with nice details.... Also this pack will be publish after the cooking patch......
I'm not dead I still working on one of the most important assets that my country missing to build a real route, the OHLE: ....the double wire support is a nightmare to build.... And yes, using the default (and wrong track for my country, due to a different sleepers) track from the EU assets pack I'm begin to build the first Italian route for TSW! More details on next update
Unfortunately I'm alone and I've got to build everything from scratch because the other nations infrastructure was different from mine, but using some objects from the training center and the EU common pack, the route will be maybe less accurate but publish faster!
The OHLE take it's final shapes with all the element that I need: And here, a little abandoned station along the line: Who know me and where I live probably, afther this specific abandoned station situated in the middle of the city, can guess the line but, for all of you, the reveal maybe come wit the next post .... Who like to find just where the line start, here a little hint: The city have an ancient castel and is located in the Emilia-Romagna region
So, I think... The city is F. That's the former station of another operator... It's electrified... My question: The route will be F.-->R., F.-->B. or F.-->C. (under electrification)? Obviously, I think there will be a flirt with the Italian colors, right? Anyway, great job ffabio89 ! Can't wait to find out if I got it right!
Thought you nailed it The line goes from F to R but for this first time it's not the full length, the ending station is Portomaggiore, but I'll include the old branch to the industrial site to add a lots of gameplay!
Unfortunately, due to some strange errors with track found when I've try to set up a little scenario to test the track, I'd have to restart my work.... I also noticed that the switch have the strange name "test switch" in the 2D map during simulation and the train won't appear, but this only for my route, for the other route all goes well! I've also noticed the platform built for the main station having some issue with the collision, but I'll use the more detailed box that you can use when import the mesh... Or did I miss something? I've got some things to correct before starting the new project, this may take a while but if DTG's can't help with some sort of tutorials or a words about it, it's better correct everything before start then after! At least, I'll able to complete signals and OHLE and going to publish it!
And the route still going foward! Here the first station on the line just outside the main city of Ferrara: ...and yes, the line is quite modern but you have to cross the railway on that little flat passage (if there aren't trains).
Working on the main station: The track are layd for it's 80%, the secondary station is done and the main one i complete under the platform details, remai only the building. Next steps are: - Complete track - Complete the main station's building - Test the whole route in game with a simple timetable to check if everything is done properli Afther this steps, I'll proceed with the landscape...
Some light test, the result is nice! .....and change the title of this topic to reflect better my actual work!
Of course! And the works still going on, I haven't anything to show now because I'm creating some 3Ds for the line and nothing more...
I know that's way too early, but in case you're ever working on a new Italian project - what do you think about getting the cinque terre route into the game?
Yes, now it's really to early for another project but I've just thought about that, the unique limitation to build that line is the correct baking for the tunnels, I've tried to bake the light in another work but unfortunately not working as expected. Plus, I've a problem to create the switch box wit a correct animation (but I'll watch this as last thing to do, now the priority is complete the line and a drivable train). Another project I'm thinking just now is to rebuild the Venice to Padova line, I'm working on the TSC version just now to complete and publish it soon, so I can reuse some 3Ds here in case...
