That would be too long of a route its 153 miles between the 2 stations. Currently the longest route in the game is 115 miles. Plus they have said they want to step away from Southern Califirnia for a while after the Metrolink Loco DLC came out this year.
Oh I know. So it would end up as another part route. Sadly the case though with many US routes other than pure commuter. Unless DTG adopt the Run 8 modular approach you are never going to get a really long complete route for Amtrak operations. San Diego Trolley, then?!
Yeah good point. They need some goodwill just now - cancelling so much (yesterday for example). Maybe they’ll finally hand over a licence at some point - feel like there isn’t much left of the brand’s reputation to protect (not that a brand being in game damages it, in fact IMO it actually promotes it).
That would cover the basics but access still needed to the XC interior for details etc and permission to display their branding in game. Also AFAIK AWC don’t operate 220’s just 221’s.

Avanti is 221s only as you say, and I believe they have been withdrawn now to all transfer to XC in time.
Improvement in Landclass and water/rivers/masking When driving over bridges or next to waterways I want to see this from the cab.. not the half baked stuff we have now.. Or roadways like this, with signage if in view... still not 100% in clarity but better then what we have now! maybe its time to look into sat imagery for the landclass (with autogen layers) ? and no this isnt MS streamed sat imagery the designer is using sat imagery as a part of their layer All of this doesnt need to be in areas we dont go to/see from the cab just those where we do..
I very much hope JT bring the Metropolitan Line to TSW6 as a core route, that would be an insta buy for me.
Unbranded stock is just about bearable for pc users as modders can fill in the gaps, but a bit of a downer for console users I think, and they’re already on the warpath about shrunken timetables and memory issues lol! I think it’s best if they go for branded for new routes if at all possible. The Metropolitan Line would be easy as they have the TFL licence which covers everything London.
But if unbranded can bring more rolling stock into the game, (license with the train builder only) it shouldn't matter, yes it'll take away a slight bit of immersion but beats constant overuse of already in game rolling stock in every DLC!
Well I’m fine with it as a pc user because modders will put the branding on. But otherwise I wouldn’t be happy, I hated the LNWR on the WCMLS without branding, completely destroyed immersion for me. I think there are plenty of routes they can do branded before resorting to unbranded or fantasy anyway.
Wittenberge – Berlin-Spandau West (– Berlin-Zoologischer Garten if you feel extra lucky, setting base to future Stadtbahn route) set to 1996. Most of the route was already returned to functioning state, the part located in former DDR area is now electrified and generally double-track again. The border crossing is still just hastily stitched together, OHLE ends in Falkensee and you have to continue through temporary single-track diesel route towards former Westberlin. The route offers scenic contrast between sad countryside of bankrupt country in utter disrepair and a clean and well-maintained western metropole, with chaotic construction sites everywhere around as the infrastructure slowly gets reconnected and repaired. Railway engineers take measurements around for the majestic project of magnetic levitation route connecting the renewed capital with Hamburg at speeds of 400 km/h, so this old railway will forever remain as half-stub of secondary importance mostly for freight and local connections... Long-distance trains are served by BR 250/155 with grand sets of TEE wagons of the Bundesbahn, while local stoppers use shiny new BR 243/143 coupled with old and rusty DBv double-decker units of the Reichsbahn, designed to transport whole cities of workers at once to their morning shifts in heavy industry plants. Creamy BR 218s take the services over in Falkensee, in order to get them to the city over the non-electrified passage. Freight is ran by combination of those together with BR 110/204 layer adding some more local services. Deluxe version comes with BR 211/109 with Bautzen Y-wagons which sets a base for backdated refresh of Dresden – Chemnitz route coming later in the cycle. In November, TSG's BR 132/232 comes with a selection of new freight wagons adding new services, as well as handful of direct fast trains that don't have to go through a traction change in Falkensee. Traction change on route puts to a good use the advanced shunting TSG implemented into core for Mittenwaldbahn, and the idea is supported by the SD202 buses (very iconic for this area in 1990s) shown in april fool's roadmap.
When thinking along the lines of ‘standard’ and ‘deluxe’ editions, and how that translates to ‘one new train’ or ‘two new trains’ it does narrow things down a little - especially within the realms of known licenses. As far as I know, for DTG, they’ve not released a brand new train with a repeat UK license yet, on a core route. The star of the show was always a new train from a new operator. I think only Southern’s 377’s have made multiple appearances as the ‘main’ traction, and in one case a new subclass.. but it’s an anomaly here. Could it finally be time for a repeat operator in the TSW core route pool, and if so, how will they achieve a deluxe / ‘two new trains’ situation?
Very logical and good suggestions in theory... But wishful if the current trend of TSW is anything to go by... To add to that list an extension of ECML to York would be a welcome edition. And as mentioned a few times Edinburgh to Newcastle would be a lovely modern and scenic route with plenty of potential. As mentioned before, my worry is with any UK route that Rivet will be the developers and not only ruin a potential frequently requested route, but for it to be left in the state of WCMLS and for no one else the revisit it.
I think Riviera is overdue and renewing the GWR licence makes it a strong favourite imo. Later update the WCL to 2018 ish with a discount for current owners, and add route hopping at Plymouth. Riviera on release could be 801/802 GWR, HST, HST castle doors, 166. Later addons could feature 158 GWR, 150 GWR, CrossCountry 220 (if licenced). FL green 70 and China Clay stock. DB 66 with TTA tanks. Another consideration could be a 90s GEML with Class 90 and DVT? Supplemented by JTs Shap locos. In turn the 90 then adding to a 1989 Shap timetable?
I know I said before I expected something GWR out of Reading (the other direction) or Cardiff, but actually I also think Riviera line makes a lot of sense. The base route could include GWR IETs and Sprinters. Deluxe edition could include a Voyager if (if being the key word) an XC license could be obtained, with GWE included in the Special Edition for 43 and 166 layers. (I don't know what the Deluxe "loco" would be if XC can't be licensed because 150s/158s aren't a new to tsw train and 800/802 is too similar to 801 to be the deluxe add on) Just watch as much as everyone speculates GWR watch it be something entirely different.
Yes, Wherry Lines or something. Well that would be quite a crowd pleaser, especially if you got the Sheringham branch in addition to Yarmouth (both routes) and Lowestoft.
Sudstrecke: Wien - Wiener Neustadt I mean, hell the .... yeah https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/wien-wiener-neustadt.89902/ https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/austrian-core-loco-pack.89899/ or Wien S-Bahn - Wien Stammstrecke + S45 + S80 (= S-Bahn core stuff) + one of the many routes going out of Vienna, maybe S2 (Modling + Stammstrecke + at least till Wolkersdorf) or Wien S-Bahn S7/REX7 - Wien Floridsdorf + whole Stammstrecke to Meidling for variety + up till Wolftshal (including VIE station, along with CAT services)
UK wise judging from the last 4 annual routes being something of a larger scope or strictly a mainline I'm guessing it'll be either c2c, GEML, Chiltern Mainline, LU, SWML as the more likely options. It may also be something that compliments other routes in terms of layers because that seems to be what DTG may be pushing for and is also why I thought of those 5 specifically. Anything GWR seems like a good shout from the licence being recovered. Or it could be another section of the ECML. I think Scotrail could return as well but I am leaning towards the first 5 I mentioned.
I was thinking something around Glasgow with the North Clyde Line as that has quite a few branch lines
I know a lot of people here like the nostalgia and that's fine but for myself if they are going to do "modern", which Matt has claimed in a previous thread that is the direction they are pushed/advised to go from those above, can they at least make something post 2022... everything they release as "modern" currently is based in the low to mid 20-teens, Yes that's modern vs what people on the forums want but that's not modern to todays standard, that some 10+ years old. For me "modern" is no earlier then 2022/23, post covid lockdowns, please bring the TTs up to the now and look at some of the new rolling stock like the KISS, FLIRT UK + 3
I would like either a remastered and extended North TransPennine or the Merseyrail network (ideally in the 80s/90s as the PEP stock used on the Cathcart and East Coastway routes can be repurposed as 507s & 508s). That said I reckon we will get the Waterloo & City Line instead
I can only speak of the UK but DTG releases have pretty much always been post 2020 have they not? WCMLS, GOBLIN are DTG (although for the former many have deduced it's a Rivet product released under DTG) and are set in very recent times. Matt can only speak on behalf of DTG, not the third parties who choose to explore past time periods for routes like JT. One good thing about having timetables in the mid to late teens is that it'll most likely be the busiest timetable available. From what I've read on RailForums SWR still haven't brought back some services cut due to COVID.
My guess Uk: GWE remaster US: maybe New Haven–springfield Line De: no idea maybe something out of berlin
I reckon they'll do another Austrian route, and if so, it is time for the Tauernbahn: Schwarzach-St. Veit - Villach (or all the way to Tarvisio Boscoverde, for the freight train purists.)
GWE remaster has been advertised as free - so unless TSW6 has a free starter pack with it, or is free entirely, that wouldn’t work
It could easily turn into remaster plus extension (Oxford, Swindon or Westbury) if someone at DTG Towers declares it so. The question then would be whether OG GWE owners still get the rework should they choose not to buy the TSW6 route/bundle.
I’ve always been curious about what’s the actual difference between the class 801 and class 807? like to me they look the same asides from livery
All the 80x series are quite similar. Key differences I believe are: 807 has 7 cars vs 5/9 801 is LNER but 807 is Avanti 807 has no backup diesel gu
TSW6 Now comes with passengers who actually get off the train and don't camp overnight in the train and don't go on an active train track. Dynamic weather that doesn't include 4 season in one day. Trainspotter mode? Improved route hoping? Improved map? Improved guard/conductor mode? A toilet?
Some people saying Railway 200 might be an influence- I'm surprised no one has suggested Liverpool- Manchester in some capacity. It was the world's first inter city railway after all...
Trainspotter mode could be fun.. I enjoyed finding all of the Class 87’s on WCMLoS and photographing them in the wild!
In the famous (or infamous) April Roadmap, there was a double-decker bus shown that is highly typical for Berlin. I have not seen this bus anywhere in the game and it probably would not fit anywhere else. So it may well be that there will be some Berlin S-Bahn route in the game. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAN_SD_202 (unfortunately, the Wiki page is not available in English) Yes, in the Roadmap, the bus was red and mirrored in order to give the impression of a London bus and RHD vehicle, but the shape is very distinctive.
Not sure I understand this discussion when the routes are not working properly. Tsw6 should be binned until the core is stable.
If I may express one wish, it'd be: Nuremberg to Wurzburg - would be great for the diverse consists on the route ranging from ICE, IC, regional trains to freight services. One vehicle would be needed - the DBBR 440. Plus, Nuremberg was the birthplace for railway in Germany exactly 190 years ago on December 7th. Kind regards.
