Hi. Sorry if wrong area to post, I couldn't find on search but maybe missed it. I have a PS5 coming Wednesday, currently have a PS4 and TSW5. What's the deal with getting TSW5 on PS5. Do you have to pay or is it simple to transfer etc. I gather all level be lost if in correct. Thanks
Once you register/transfer the same account from PS4 to PS5 you maintain all dlcs buyed before, unfortunately all progress will be lost
Upgrading from ps4 to ps5 causes all progress to be lost...? Wow. I went from Xbox One to Series S a few weeks ago and that keeps all your progress
The PS5 version. But when I had my PS4 and I upgraded to PS5 I didn't lose my progress as my profile was still saved.
...I can only recommend the PS5. I think it will still be state-of-the-art in the console sector until 2028, before the 10th generation slowly but surely launches. Above all, thanks to the SSD, you can look forward to faster loading, quieter fan noise, and the new DualSense controller, which is more fun than the old PS4 controller. Unfortunately, transferring save games from PS4 to PS5 isn't possible, but strangely enough, it is on Xbox. However, you can use the Creators Club for a complete transfer of liveries, scenarios, or combined trains. I found two older comparison pictures:
Also considering the PS, but am not sure as whether to take the normal PS5 or the PS5 Pro. Any ideas? Would be most appreciated. Kind regards
I'm not an official Sony representative, but I'll try my best: Only the PS5 Slim and the PS5 Pro are currently being produced. Both use the same accessories, such as the attachable Blu-ray drive, headphones, and DualSense controller. Both are also compatible with PSVR and PSVR2. The Pro version is merely a mid-gen upgrade, like the PS4 Pro was. While the PS4 Pro introduced the 4K upscaling method called checkerboard rendering at the end of 2016 (which is also used in an advanced version on the PS5 Slim), the PS5 Pro is equipped with the new 4K (or even 8K) AI upscaling technology PSSR. As the name Pro suggests, it has additional graphics processors, resulting in 45% more overall processing power. This roughly corresponds to an AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT, AMD Radeon RX 6800, or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card on the PC. There's also an additional 2GB of RAM, but so far, this is only used for the internal operating system and not for games. I recently acquired the Pro version myself. No graphical miracles are to be expected with TSW5, although a PSSR upgrade would certainly be an advantage here. However, other AAA titles that have received a Pro upgrade, like Assassin's Creed Shadows, run at a comfortable 60fps, appear sharper overall, and are better lit thanks to improved ray tracing. The main incentive for me to buy it was the 2TB SSD storage and an additional controller. Otherwise, the Slim version costs half as much and also has 1TB SSD storage, which isn't bad overall. Since the next console generation probably won't be available for another three years, now would be the right time to get a 9th gen device, unless you want to pay double or triple for a gaming PC, even though Windows 11 also works on a laptop.
For TSW PS5 Slim is completely okay. Because you will not get more content on TSW with PS5 Pro. Especially at the new Frankfurt S-Bahn route you will get the reduced timetable only for both machines. Because PS5 Pro has a stronger graphic processor, but not really much more RAM.
I switched from a classic PS5 to a PS5 Pro in November and for playing TSW it really sucks or maybe there is no visible benefit ....... The PS5 Pro as such does not have any improved support
I have the PS5 Slim. So no the top of the line! But I have not experienced graphic issues. Yesterday also drive the Dosto Cab Car trainset with the BR 143 at the back, from Frankfurt to Fulda, without any visual problem. Even with cloudy and some rain weather. Visual setting HD, not 4K! It looks great with that setting
The Pro won't benefit you in TSW, but if you play other games, particularly Sony first party, then it's definitely worth it.
Well... Please notice the following facts: - Despite I have lot of routes, most of them are on an external HD. - I have several routes of UK, but not the ones with old trains. Only exception is Northern Trans-Pennine. Which I liked very much, despite there are no so many passengers...due to it was one of the old ones. It deserves an improvement, with latest weather, and some extra trains. In general I do not like "very old trains". Another exception is ... the really great and beautiful "Flying Scotman" Another UK route I like very much also, is Southeastern High speed. Also I like very much the UK Class 66 six axle diesel locomotive! Even I have it on several paint schemes, thanks to Creators Club Suggestion: I like to drive it on East Coast route. So I add another train - a freight one with the 66 - , using Free Roam tool, then I depart behind the first train. Which will make some yellows and reds. After getting green light, I will be delaying the 2nd LNER Class 801. But the route have some sidings. So I took them, in order to allow the LNER trains, pass mine. You can do it several times. Then make the drive very interesting, for me. But of course I enjoy mainly the German routes, due to the variety of locomotives - I love the BR 218!, and DB trains - including ICE ones, and different landscapes. Austrian routes are also great, mainly due to the beautiful scenery As mentioned on other posts, I select HD for graphic resolution, not 4K. HD is quite good for me. No need to have 4K. So everything runs smooth for me.
