I feel like I they were gonna go Derby to Leeds they'd route it not via Doncaster because XC services (if they can even get an XC license) from Sheffield heading North either go by Leeds OR Doncaster. (Edinburgh services via Leeds and Newcastle via Doncaster. XC clearly being the main attraction here. Also it's Mexborough, not Mexthorpe. I assume you mixed up Mexborough with Hexthorpe somehow. And it's Adwick, not Ardwick, Ardwick is in Manchester
Transpennine did operate Class 170s on this route in the early to mid 2010s, the time period I had in mind
Unless it’s done with HST’s or loco hauled stock, they still need access to a 220 and 221 for the technical data. I doubt what’s in the archive from TSC would be sufficient for a TSW version. And there’s still the danger that unbranded without approval of the TOC as opposed to the late decision by LNW deciding they didn’t want their brand in the game after all, could still elicit a disapproving response from XC.
Didn't actually know that, I've only ever known them to use the 185s (and in recent years the 802 and 397).
If they got the XC licence this would be cool, and a good route hopping opportunity. Would love to see the EC 43 in game!
