SInce the beta if Formation designer came around, I have been struggling with it trying to design smaller TGV Duplex Sets like 3 - 4 car versions but the TGV duplex is not event working. I tried several diffrent ways to see if it was something I was doing wrong but I have put post after post after post but NO ONE!! replied or even given me a answer to a simple question. for this i am Done with Trying.. Thanks for a great game but Formation designer needs more work done
You've probably misunderstood the purpose of FD. It's there to add cars to a loco primarily. Most EMUs/DMUs like the TGV are fixed consists, and would probably fail in real life also if cars were omitted. Some of the systems may be distributed across the wagons (like compressors), and removing these will result in a non-working unit. Like an organism where each part is vital.
What he means is you cannot even place the TGV coaches behind the TGV Locomotive. Its a bug, its been reported on 12/4/2024 and is still not fixed...
As a workaround you can use these power car + coach formations in formation designer, then you should be able to add other coaches onto the back (though it would be nice if we didn't need to use workarounds) TGV Duplex 200 Power Car 1 + R1 Coach R8 Coach + TGV Duplex 200 Power Car 2 The TGV uses Jacobs bogies though so some formations won't look right, the shortest formation you can make that doesn't look weird is 5 cars (power car + R1 + R4 + R8 + power car)
