The Norfolk Southern Chicago Line is one of the busiest freight lines east of the Mississippi River. With an average of 70-100 freight trains per day, this is a must have route in my opinion. Starting at Indiana Harbor Belt Railway Clearing Yard(and Chicago Union Station), this route includes multiple Amtrak Stations, the port of Chicago, the massive Gary Steel Works, numerous industries in small towns, the massive Elkhart Hump yard, as well as freights traveling at 60 MPH(120 KPH).

It’s also not just NS that runs on this route. CPKC runs trackage rights on this route.

All types of traffic runs on this line. This includes locals, steel trains, autos, intermodel, mixed freight, grain, coal, and passenger trains. The variety in traffic on this route will make it a great TSW route in my opinion.

If set during the early 90s during the Conrail days rolling stock should include C40-8W, SD40-2, GP38-2, and Amtrak F40PH.

I would love to see something like this, unfortunately the only thing preventing something like this from being made would be the fact that the U.S. freight operators won't cooperate with DTG, but DTG could get lucky in the future. Sadly without the Conrail license, Conrail content is very slim, but we might get lucky in the future.

Another thing is that there probably aren't any more C40-9W's out there since NS had been turning them into AC44C6M's. So I would see them doing the AC44C6M's. I hope that they would include the Sonic Bonnet units as those look awesome.

If possible, I would also have want a version that’s set in 1993 during the heyday of Conrail. All of those classic NYC signals would still be there. As well as the original interlocking at Elkhart.

I would love to see that. DTG could get lucky and obtain the CSAO license at one point.

This Chicago/IL area (and others in the Mid-West) is hugely popular in Trainz and TSC scenario creation.
Not sure about the licensing for new operators, but it's worth a look.

Ditto on the Sonic Bonnet AC44C6Ms. They do look cool. I'd also want the TAG Heritage Unit, the Honoring RRs Unit, and the Shadow Bonnet Units, as well as standard black and white NS AC44C6Ms. ET44ACs (CPKC units too), ES44DCs, ES44ACs (also CPKC and NS Heritage Units), SD70ACes/IACs (also including NS Heritage Units) SD70ACCs, SD70ACUs (also CPKC in all liveries), Admiral Cab SD40-2s, ECO Rebuild Units (including SD30C-ECOs and GP20C-ECOs from CPKC), and SD40Es could be cool. We should get more NS power that could also be run on HSC. CPKC locos would be cool to see. I also want Amtrak P42s and/or SC44 and ALC-42 Chargers. Conrail locos (including their SD80MACs, SD70MACs, SD60Is, C40-8s/C40-8Ws, C39-8s, SD40-2s, GP40-2s, GP38-2s, and of course, the NS Conrail Heritage ES44AC) have been requested and should be added. Chicago area routes are needed in game.

In my opinion, what's great about a route like this that there are so many different things to do. Instead of only having to drive freights point a to point b, you can operate locals switching out customers, drive passenger trains, and yard operations. So this would have a bit of everything.
