so, done a couple runs with 642, neither of them successful :D ... first one I got held up a lot of the time with reds and yellows, and I would even wave off an over 10min delay, but got stuck at the bridge before Mainz, and even deleting like 3 trains didnt help... so I gave up and chose another run, different time... also got caught up in yellows all the time, racking almost 10mins of delay, so in the end I was so annoyed I misjudged the braking at the final stop and ran the red... look, I know 642 got like the lowest priority in the traffic pretty much, but still... would be enjoyable runs if I didnt get yellows and held at around 40 kph most of the time... and here I was happy I finally got 2x 642 consist lol

The one thing that strikes me about the timetable is there are some odd, erm, timings. Having abandoned the previously mentioned S8 run as a bad job, I went back to the Journey which gave me a 143 and Dostos from Wiesbaden to a rather odd terminating location beyond Mainz. Approaching Mainz Hbf there seemed to be loads of pathing time and even though held outside at a red, still arrived two minutes early. However the next leg, despite ragging it I was at least 45 seconds late. So if the AI signaller is getting confused and starting to run trains out of sequence, that could explain why things are getting knotted. I mean it’s great to have a bit of dynamism in the signalling, compared to TSC or MSTS, but there is a danger without the I ability after the A, there is potential for standoffs.

Oh and in other news, yes setting the force regulator or whatever it’s called on the 143 to 60% from 100% seems to have tamed the rather twitchy physics a bit.

Why should a 642 have low priority? As long as it isn't an empty train stock moving, it has the same priority as any other regional passenger train. Its the dispatcher thats not capable of choosing (otherwise i wouldn't be stuck behind a ECS move on Frankfurt-Fulda, driving an ICE service).

Acknowledging 1000 Hz while under 500 Hz influencing (ie. signal changes from stop to expect 40) will trigger "speed supervision -1 km/h". This affects many other trains as well.

razmatus#2517. I don't know which 642 service you were driving, but I just completed RE3 (29543) the 0658-service going to Frankfurt. Nice smooth run. Got a yellow leading to red just before the Frankfurt station which cleared before I had to stop. Was idling up to it at 10 km/h. If you can let me know the service number you had issues with, I will run it.

I should probably have written that down... if I run into this problem again, I will post it here... or I will check my Steam today when I get back from work, I am pretty sure I did some screenshots on both runs that show at least approximate times... and it was direction from Frankfurt Hbf to Mainz via Frankfurt Airport Regionalbahnhof, both runs

It's the 28748 you mean, but you can still complete it. When you enter the game, use the fast travel to Main-Bischofsheim. There you take over the RB 75 (28748).

There are some spawns of Cthulhu appearing between Abzw Brunnenschneise and Abzw Mönchwald, probably only showing up in rainy and windy weather.

these two I think... one of them I got constant yellows and finally at the bridge to Mainz I got held at red and not even deleting like 2 trains helped... the other one the same, but I could at least get to Mainz... where I overshot the red signal by like a hair's width lol

razmatus#2517, OK, will check on these. I just ran service 29510 the 0823 from Frankfurt and had no issues all the way into Mainz. It will be tomorrow.

This might seem a little nit picky and I can't believe it's taken me this long to realise this but why do none of the train washes in the game wet the windshield? No matter what the route is the windshield stays perfectly dry going through the train wash and it's doing the triple header on this route that's just got me realising that!

just did an early morning run with 642, and since I didnt get constant yellows, it was quite enjoyable, tho I gotta stress one thing that many ppl already had pointed out when Maintalbahn got out - this thing (also according to videos I have watched of some cab rides, like some local routes sprouting out of Wiener Neustadt, where this train is used as 5022) is supposed to be modern diesel, quite nimble and able to get to its speeds quite quickly, and while it gets to 40 relatively fast if you go for high percentage of traction and to 80 also fairly quickly if you then go 100%, but still, it is quite underpowered, or at least seems so

Aaah, this was a fun one. It's RE3 29526. There is an ICE stretched over the junctions in Mainz that causes a deadlock. Removed that one, removed also another ICE which was standing at platform with very low priority so it could never leave, and then it unlocked. It's a very nice run otherwise though, plenty of PZB action. Just the last 12 kilometers took me 34 minutes before it all cleared up :)

I also just finished RE3 (29526) and agree with you noir, it was fun. Once I deleted the 2 ICE trains that were causing problems, I went into the 2D map and just sat at the north throat of the Mainz station and watched as the AI trains that had been backed up started to move. I don't know how long it took until our train got a green, but eventually I made it into platform 3. It was a ballet of trains once things began to move. It is amazing at how busy this full timetable is.

Just found another signalling deadlock at Frankfurt HBf.

Selecting the service with BR 425 on RE 2 at 7:10 in the morning from Frankfurt -> Koblenz, after loading passengers the exit signal at the end of the platform is red. Thinking that it was going to clear just watched how other trains were leaving and coming in the station, waiting for the line to clear.

A few minutes in an RB 22 service is coming in on the same exact track that my train is pathed thorugh and stops at a red as well. Another 5 minutes pass and it is not moving. I checked the platform assignements then... the only RB 22 on any of the platforms in the whole station that was supposed to leave/arrive in that time is bound for the platform that my train is blocking.

Realizing this, I proceeded to delete the RB 22 from the map. Still not getting free path, the signaller lets an S8 to Wiesbaden onto the track before me. That train is supposed to follow the RE 2 based on the station arrival times.

So now I am 10-15 minutes behind schedule and with no way to catch up. Feels like real life :D:D:D

I don't mind the cases where the dispatcher does stupid stuff causing delays, but the need to delete a train manually to even be able to play the service is something that is game breaking. And there was not even a case of resuming a save state here.

EDIT: Managed to finish the service, following the S8 until Mainz, overall arrived 7 minutes late based on the platform indicator. What is with a lot of services having no timings at the end station in the route tasks, even though they are clearly timetabled?

How is it that all ICE and IC services arrive at Frankfurt Airport Fernbahnhof on platform 5 or 6, whereas platform 4 and 7 are not used for any services?

In real life trains from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof to Mainz Hauptbahnhof arrive on platform 7, while the opposite direction is from platform 4. Platform 5 and 6 are used for trains from/to Stuttgart/Mannheim to/from Mainz/Cologne.

In rare cases trains from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof arrive on platform 6, but this is when a change of direction of travel is necessary eg. ICE from Fulda to Mannheim via Airport or platform 5 for ICE services from Mannheim to Fulda via Airport.

This and some other matters could've been looked after by simply using the Deutsche Bahn app or taking videos from YouTube as reference, like

Same goes for platform 2 in the Frankfurt Airport Regionalbahnhof, which is rarely used in the game, but quite frequently in real life by all the Regional Express trains from Mainz to Frankfurt. They never use platform 1 which is exclusively for the S-Bahn and to over take it.

My question to DTG or JTG is: do or did you guys ever bother to check for this matters? After all you told on the stream, that you knew this (Frankfurt Airport Fernbahnhof and Regionalbahnhof) from real life?

    Kind, but disappointed, regards.

I wonder if that's why so many people are reporting stuck ICE trains, having enough trains to fill 4 platforms but then only using 2 of them would be sure to cause bottlenecks.

That and the missing second entry point running from Frankfurt Stadion via Louisa to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and Südbahnhof, as the ICE from Hanau/Airport are usually dispatched either via Niederrad or Louisa to Hauptbahnhof, depending on the amount of traffic on respective route. Some ICE also go directly from Airport to Südbahnhof and on to Hanau/Fulda/Aschaffenburg. They seem to have created this bottleneck on purpose, as the tracks for the second entry point are laid, as are houses, trees and roads (can be seen in one YT video where the Vlogger uses a Godmode) and they load, although they're not displayed on the normal map.

I really wish they would've looked closer into all this factors, as it would've avoided this bottleneck on the one hand and opened possibilities for freight services on the other.

    Kind regards.

Driving the BR401 in service ICE 672 i encountered weird PZB speed restrictrions.
Between the flughaven fernbahnhof and the 60km/h switches at Frankfurt stadion, you get a speed reduction to 100km/h, and then to 90km/h at the stadion. and right behind the 90 is the switch.
So the 60km/h is never announced

    platform EGS - full timetable

There’s also an inherent inaccuracy on all TSW German routes, including this latest one, that the sim doesn’t impose the signalling speed at the signal but only when you arrive at the actual track section with a lower speed. They really need to change this so it works like TSC or Zusi 2/3, which I presume are correct.

I have encountered this as well. It’s a bug! The Zs3v should also indicate the 6, not the 9.

Write a bug report, hopefully it will be fixed…

Anyone else noticed the other bottleneck between Frankfurt Airport Fernbahnhof and Abzw. Raumheim where all trains depart wrongly from platform 6, instead of 7, then use a switch to change to the wrong track towards Raunheim for six kilometres until transferring to the line Kelsterbach to Mainz? Why is the switch at Abzw. Raunheim not being used to switch from the track towards Cologne to the track from Cologne and then on to the connector to the line towards Mainz as it is commonly practiced daily on the real line?

    https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahnstrecke_Raunheim_Mönchwald–Raunheim_Mönchhof#/media/Datei:Gleisplan_Raunheim_Mönchwald_Mönchhof.svg

The switches at Raunheim are highlighted in red

    https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d2/Gleisplan_Raunheim_Mönchwald_Mönchhof.svg/1920px-Gleisplan_Raunheim_Mönchwald_Mönchhof.svg.png

Here's a cab ride from Frankfurt to Cologne via Mainz and Koblenz. Take note on the platform the ICE uses at Fernbahnhof (12:00) and the routing it uses until Raunheim (16:50 - 18:20).

This error can be seen in several streams including the official preview stream. In Germany HSL lines are driven on as on other routes with the right track being used for direction of travel. Exceptions are only if the track is closed for whatever reason eg. ongoing construction when a "Falschfahrt" is initiated

    Kind regards.

While it is true that germany uses right track traffic, the route is fully equipped for running on opposite track and there is nothing wrong about using it. The real answer is though, the pathfinding in TSW is extremely dumb and simply chooses whatever feasible tracks that are shortest crow's flight length. It's not a problem to run on wrong track by itself (it makes it also operationally interesting in game), but it is the source of dispatcher problems and deadlocks.

I was running I think ICE 1650 which used this routing, and I remained standing on Mönchwald link in a deadlock, where RE3 was also running on opposite track from Kelsterbach, but hit a head-on S8 there while already having the track reserved, causing a nonsense deadlock.

I'm not really sure why does DTG do the whole "timetable simulating" when it clearly does not detect or prevent many of the "Stopped for track obstruction" deadlocks on this route.

You see noir ,if that's the case, they shouldn't do the timetables to such an extent. The real timetable in that area is based on the fact that all tracks are being used. And secondly, it is not impossible to assign the right tracks as there are some (freeware) rides that use the correct tracks. AI uses the tracks, the switches are fully functional and in the German stream they used a E94 to go from Mainz to Bischofsheim with a few additional clicks to take the correct route. This is another bottleneck as trains have to wait just past Raunheim in order to enter into the HSL as the path used in real life is occupied by a train that would not run on in real life when the schedule was created using every possible slot.

If there's a will, there's a way as we say in Germany. The route costs 36 EUR and consists not too little errors and quirks. This is another example that bottlenecks were created and left as is, although a change is possible. The stutters, which to me was another reason to return, is another thing. They should've done the S8 and S9 only and focus on the tracks in that area eg the missing entry point Stadion via Louisa to Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt/Südbahnhof Frankfurt, instead of having large areas eg in Höchst that are not used with timetable freight services and a very instable addon on a whole and especially for consoles. It could've avoided the fps stability on a whole, while doing the S1 at a later point, perhaps with another branch like the S2. But, a half done meal is not a tasty one, as in this case.

    Kind regards.

What platform are you running as well as which HuD are you using? I am on pc and run the mini HuD and do not see a problem.

It is not possible for me to reach the platin medal score with the BR 101. With ICE's and BR 430 it's no problem. Maybe the minimum points for the medals are wrong or something is wrong with the scoring. I've tried it with the three first trains in the list (to Basel, Kiel and Hamburg-Altona). During the last ride I've noticed, that in the area of Frankfurt Airport the score for riding under the speed limit is 35, not 65. Maybe this happens multiple times and is one of the reasons.

When running the BR 101 in the area between Mainz Römisches Theater and Mainz Hbf the speed limit of activated 500-Hz-magnets starts at 45 km/h and goes down to 24 km/h. That's the speed limit for caego trains.

One more bug in Frankfurt Hbf: When running the train to Basel to the northern tracks of the Hbf, a 500-Hz-magnet pops up incorrectly and stops the train during the ride in the area of the two main signals with 60 km/h speed limit.

I run the mini HuD so it does not show that. Also, a weird thing I just noticed when I tried to go back to the normal HuD, that info section in the lower right of the screen will not display. Guess one of the mods I am running is blocking it. This is no matter to me since I use the mini.

Why would achievements/trophies showing up on Gen 8 platforms be an issue? DTG has consistently abandoned each TSW from 2020 onwards with broken, unobtainable achievements/trophies! I see no difference in the achievements/ trophies on this route showing up on Gen 8 where they are unobtainable and DTG abandoning a TSW with broken/unobtainable achievements!

All of the sudden the ICE-T services disappeared from the PS5. Seriously what’s going on

Frankfurt S-Bahn DB BR 423 Wipers are broken, rain remains on the windshield.
Same problem as with the Class 43 back then.

And the BR425 has no water droplets on the windshield during rain *facepalm*

EDIT: Nevermind, just started another service and now it has the droplets, weird

Scenario - On Hear that train coming
signal ZU4 shows red, however, it shows as green on the HUD and 2D map. (it's the signal on the approach to FF S Bahn 106)

Another disappointing DLC for Scenario Planner. I actually wanted to have some fun and complain that you can't drive in circles in the scenario Planner (from Mainz to Mainz, for example), but I think it's even worse that you can't even create Scenarios where you drive from Frankfurt Hbf via Flughafen Fernbahnhof)
to Wiesbaden. From the long-distance train station, you can only access the portal to the high-speed line.

All right, now that I have bought it and done a few runs:
Setting aside the controversies over performance, consoles and reduced timetables, I have to give this one credit for its ambition. Not just the timetable and the utterly insane number of switches and signals, and the multiplicity of service patterns, but also in the "set decoration"- it seems DTG took routes like Blackpool and Mittenwald as a challenge, and really upped their game in this regard. Foliage density, trackside and yard clutter, bespoke building assets and long sightlines galore- for a comparison I went back and ran the highly-regarded Nahverkehr Dresden, and except at Meissen that route by contrast looks very plain and uninspired.

OTOH, the performance load is brutal. Even with all the shaders loaded, my antique PC gets reduced to a slideshow round Frankfurt HBF. But boy, it looks great,* and busy. In Journey mode I have yet to hit a traffic lockup (unlike Dresden, where I had to delete a train to finish the service). But I imagine it's possible; and I too don't understand why DTG didn't copy RL platform assignments.

Verdict: strong buy recommend if you have a fairly high-performance PC. Wait for sale recommend for slow PC or console.

*Especially with Frankfurt's distinctive skyline in the background, something sadly missing in routes like Munchen-Augsburg

and it has 143 that actually works, which is awesome... havent tested yet if the game lets me use this version of 143 on other routes, which would be nice, cos it has a nicely working e-brake, so far as I checked :)

And one with real-life limitations. In the scenario where you have to hook up to a dead train and drive off in the cab car (unrealistic, I know, but creates interest), you have to be very careful with the throttle to avoid wheelslip in the rain, or simply overloading the poor old single loco trying to move a very heavy double train from the middle, with attendant popped MCB.

    HOWEVER---
    There is this:

Come ON, DTG! We know that you know how to make consolidated departure boards - you have them in Austria - and players have been griping about this since before Rush Hour.

"There is a mod for that" Now I think it was over in General but not sure exactly where but totally populates the PID boards with accurate information.

The 143 is the only train I've driven so far and it is a fun one to operate. Everything works pretty much as you'd expect and I like the speed set and braking systems.

I'm still being caught out by the PZB though. I guess I just haven't driven German trains enough to this point.
