Thanks for sharing. How come you didn’t enjoy the US routes. Is it a same reason I don’t use EU DLCs because I don’t fully understand the language terms etc, so don’t play on EU DLCs. 66s a basically a standard set up as US locos as it a US made locomotive (GE) Yes they not cheap at full cost so always best to hold off, unless you want the latest DLCs to get on to work early. First ones on tend to get the highest numbers. But why pay an extra 10 or 15 quid (Pounds Sterling) to join the Rat Race. Not me I’ll will post all my DLCs individually content on the TSLP thread so again you can see all that own in stock not in DLC terms. Later man ✌
this is a lot mate hahah but I hope your hand gets better soon and don't feel bad that you couldn't do anything for a while and I don't stress too much about whether people want to join or not. they can if they want but otherwise it's for the 2 of us I haven't done much for it myself lately because I also make a lot of real life liveries and yes that other guy in that other thread is a bit too big for his boots I think. anyway don't worry about it. unfortunately i can't use that method at the moment because i only own tsw5 lol like i said before i only play since the beginning of this year, but i get what you're saying and about the spamming is also clear in i usually upload things in 1x but since i can't upload the shunters anyway i have room for many others and i would rather choose that red and white train mate although i'm not interested in UK passenger trains, i'm a freight guy but the german dostos or ICE is sometimes fun to do and the dutch ICM and SNG of course. sometimes even a bit of s bahn but otherwise i only do freight services. and the passenger trains are fun as traffic. and why i didn't like the US route i don't really know i just find EU stuff much nicer and more relaxing to drive and it's just more my thing the languages are not a problem for me but more the terms and how it all works in real life i don't know. I don't know of any other safety systems than PZB/LZB and ATB sifa/dodeman

Hey I’m back. Okay I get that now so fully understood from day one on where you’re heart lay in relation to passenger units or freight, so again now you have mentioned those units then I might have a play US routes then here I love the freight side more than passenger. Safety systems are basic on say the SD70ACe for an example. The signalling is pretty basic too put I do find some passengers services difficult as the units and on board safety systems are pretty much similar to German signalling systems. I think the unit in the Boston Sprinter is a German unit for the US passenger service operations. So yes I’m pretty clued on the basics of all US freight trains but not the passenger services. Again tho I need to have a proper play before I totally rule any out. And for the UK safety systems then here again very simple to understand as once you gain track or route knowledge then you will now what’s coming and why my speed is deduced by acting on a double yellow (40mph) then down to a signal yellow (20Mph). These speeds can be varied depending on sight and track conditions or by route knowledge. The UK networks use a simple block system and station protection for stationary services. It helps to maximise the rail infrastructure and provides a more efficient transport system. A safer one too. Due to being UK based and my mum seeing a UK rail Head freight operations manager of what was then Rail Sector and DRS and many others. So at 15 I learned about the block system, even a simple computer test of how to save on brakes. 90s tech. But I was aware of AWS/ EWS as a young child. He was always involved with freight even dealt with Mr Stobart on there first UK delivery. So anything for the last 50 years then he was responsible for most rail movements across the UK in way or another. And why if you need help with UK safety systems or possibly more then I can assist and have access to lots of information US and UK freight I have some experience and understandings off. If you do fancy a long slow two hour drag at night then US routes a great to escape the face paced world of express services or even modern traction. US freight locos are so simple. Must be if I can understand yet for EU routes and my location then I will struggle with that side. Yet I did understand the TGV systems as I completed all scenarios and services. Even the different systems on the Class 395, it uses UK and EU systems. I understand and can fully operate a class 395 with no guidance. As I say I’ve don’t use because of time really, yet I’m going to start using some EU stuff see if I can mix it up a little a ✌
yeahh I should maybe look into those systems I have enough to play with my own content now after all that's what I do it for like here another shunter in the pink style of EVONIK i had a lot of problems with the logo because shape 40 bugged constantly so not all letters are nice round but luckily you don't see it too much. i am very happy with how the e logo turned out
almost done just need to dot the i's and cross the t's. pretty happy with the livery although I still have doubts about the colors, every picture has a different finish even the screenshot looks different from in game.. or i'm getting tired lol :P

I can tell straight away that’s in not the loco finish or paint. It’s the way the photos have been taken, even edited post shot. So don’t go of the photos because as I say I can see 3 differently shades straight away. Try using model forums etc even model paint online providers.. They can provide Ral codes HEX codes etc. I use these methods for paint matching over use of photos due to the issues you have now. Unsure of the correct colour or shade of. Looking at your work and the photos I’d say it’s as close as you’ll get. Remember light, angles distance traffic layers then all manner of technical stuff on photos. Brands, lenses all these variables have an effect on how you gauge any colours. Check models forums out and model paint shops. It’s will save you loads of time and you find a few interesting articles too. Working off photos is not accurate or reliable as a whole. Again been there myself. Banging my head against the wall because I just couldn’t get the right match. Catch you soon Rigsby. ✌
Use of LCD displays again. First used on my Tfw 801. Now being implemented for conceptual design purposes on possible GBR fleet flexibility. The BR logo and side panels can be changed to reflect what service that unit has been allocated. Or any possible knock on effects of fleet displacement. The old meets the new. ✌
yeah that's a bit of a problem I had searched for that but I can't find any models or models in good quality with the right color. real HSV color codes are often different in real life in game, maybe also display etc and I have mini led screen 240hz on my asus x16 so quite deep full bright colors. I also use color pickers to get HSV codes but even then it's a good look. maybe it's also a bit of uncertainty of my self because I want to be as close to reality as possible
I’ll see if I can find some modelling forums that deal with EU operations. As even with some reputable companies there can be some discrepancies between certain manufacturers colours. So again you’re thinking like me, or have doubts all the time. Here as a quick example. I’d spend ours because of my OCD. It drove me mad to be honest the worry and the pressure to get that right colour. It took all the fun out of of the game. Again I will give credit to DTG Matt for fixing a problem as I’d have to close the game down for any changes to be made. So every time I made a colour adjustment I’d have to close the game down. I didn’t raise a ticket I think he just picked it up while on his rounds. So yes try not worry about colours too much because it can drive ya mad. Even now looking back I feel the colours are all wrong on some of the past work I’ve done. I could fix them but with over 270 odd units now then that would be absolutely crazy of me to try fix now. If I was you I wouldn’t be worried to much about the colours because they all look spot on mate. What ever it is that your doing is working that’s for sure. I’m no expert either but it looks quite difficult working under such circumstances, you have so much to take into consideration. Something else to consider is car paints, I found many paints used in the car industry is also used in the rail industry so that could be another option if you really hit a wall on a right colour match. Ie Land Rover Green is similar to a Bronze Green. It’s was used by the UK MOD in the 1940s and 50s so was used in various parts of the rail industry such as BR green. Yet the terminology can be distorted too. Such as reading up on 1930s paints then Brunswick Green is I believe not a common term used but is so due to the wide use within the modelling community. Not necessarily by the paints shops or depots themselves. It’s a mind field when it comes to colour matching. It’s the one part of the hobby I lest enjoy. ✌ (Edit) lol.

that would be great mate because I've been searching for a while, enough model forums but nowhere where I can find the colors or something like that, but I completely understand you it can sometimes irritate you to get the colors right.. and I also think that my older works are not correct in color but to improve them all in color is no longer possible with so many liveries haha, that you have to close the game every time after changing color is strange I fortunately don't have that but the grouping bug keeps coming back and effects now normal decals too. sometimes it seems like you have to copy decals from previous decals otherwise the grouping doesn't work. it's really so strange to get a grip on it.. fortunately I managed to fix it again but what an extra unnecessary work you get from it AAARGHHHH and the mod works great and effect other players not. the ELL liveries are now all on 1600/1700 layers and everything runs smoothly. all i have to do is delete the .bak file when the game is updated and thats easy peasy. finally the freedom i was looking for !! and i feel bad for you console players but im so glad i bought TSW5 for my laptop and not my ps5
I’ll try short something for you as I only use UK model forums yet I’m sure there will be online EU modelling forums. Yep you got it one, it’s an endless and fruitless process really back stepping. I kinda of like looking back at old work. I see how fair I’ve come. And the problem has been long fixed as it was not long after TSW4 came out. It’s why decals etc wasn’t showing in the early days because the system was saving the changes. Only if the users shut the system down would the changes take and then upload. If not aware of this then directly uploading would mean missing decals. But as I say that’s all be shorted. And that’s right you rub salt in the wound. I’m chuffed to bits tho because again I need to catch up with on that grouping issues as I know that was really getting to you. So again I’m chuffed to bits you have this extra decal mod. Oh and for Bugs etc then it gets me as that DTG sell it as a new game. (Clear to see it isn’t). Why well bugs are still present today as they was when TSW2 came out. Still no mastery decals for LPC. No fixes for so many units with defects such as the Class 66 the 3 circles then the 801 car behind rear unit. Even the 700 just to mention a few so how can it legal be called a new game if it isn’t. Surely there must be some legislative process on when a game is classified as new or not. It’s not a new game if bugs from 4 years ago are still there. So how can it be sold as new. The core game isn’t new just the newer units and routes which could be sold separately and they upgraded the game as they should do. Ubisoft do it etc. They don’t leave a bug for 4 years and sell it too you as a new game. That’s pure garbage for a company to treat customers like this. They don’t care about fixes even after leaving a messages set up for issues with products. It’s a complete waste of time. If they can’t fix something from 4 years ago and still plenty treat the customer base like clowns by selling consumer a second hand game at new prices. Fix TSW2 and for fans that bought it then maybe we wouldn’t be talking about the 5th instalment of a TSW as I was 4 years back. Nothings changed, all the old bugs remain. Why?. And how can a company rebrand a product and sell as new products yet again has all the problems the previous title did. How is that a new game in a legal sense of the word. That’s like me selling a 20 year old car as new just because I repainted it. So how can DTG sell any future titles as new if they only repainted the cover on a second hand product TSW2. Like I say tho you say anything publicly bad about DTG even the mods on Reddit work close with DTG. They all do and so if you say anything bad then the powers that be come down on one like a Ton of bricks. To shut one down and make life hell. Why I say when it comes to bugs and speaking freely of them can work out bad. Never a fix or explanation tho regardless of how active one gets on here or vocal. If DTG Matt sends me a DM and I respond 3 or 4 times (Over the TGG on TSW5) with no response then what chance do we have banging on about a issue that older than the franchise it’s self. Laziness and company greed to do less fixes but more selling. So yes the game has bugs that could be fixed but to why they haven’t been fixed is a question for DTG answer. I’m only kidding with you, salts good for wounds lol. I can understand all that, I wish I could understand PCs and that but I fear them or lock up. I don’t fully like or full understand to get the best of what they do. I love to design and did AUTOCAD or CAD is my younger days. Once I understand something I can then flow on a design. Nothing that adds frustrations and hold ups. I could sit for hours designing. Here tho I had a talent of designing on paper and in my head but a PC would just put me of using any design tools or even mods. I like to know what I’m doing and be in control all the time. If not my mind will constantly back to track double checking etc. So I only wish I could understand PCs and files etc yet sadly there is too much data for a brain that’s already maxed out. I’m a simple man, as I have suffered with learning difficulties all my life, and is why I feel I’ve never progressed. So a simple PS5 is all I have, I struggle to set up parties on there. And I say interesting as someone friended me out of the blue a few days ago. I can try replicating it because it shouldn’t interfere with the other colours. But yes it’s one thing a game like this should have. We’ve had features like that in games for years. Yes again just feed off each other and why I never use a road map. It restricts me and so could restrict others. I hate clock watching too or feeling like I’m under constant pressure. So like with the HH,RN we offered it yet it’s still all about freedom. Im HH, RN UK based and will commence on work soon. And again you do what ya do whenever ya can. Freedom I’m all for freedom and creative freedom even if working with someone. As long as it’s for the same goal or share of a passion then no schedules. We play the game to escape clock watching. Yet in some case as with the R200 project I do need that, why I think I feel suffocated by it. I’m limited to what I can do in other areas that I’d like to have a go at. The Art work side and why I’ve asked about the Tractor Unit/ Truck. And don’t get me started on that. When I was on the road and heard about all the Euro boys stuck on UK soil and I rang my boss up asked if a few work lads would help me bring food down for them all if possible. I rang a friend that is from Poland I worked with and he said he’d go. My Boss said F’em. So without getting all emotional then yes what went on and how humans are treated is why I would have worked 3 days straight to help you EURO lads get back home and at least have some respect from the English people. I have more doubts about the font that I made myself or the standard font letter, my feeling tells me that I should go somewhere in between in terms of thickness of the letters. the letters that I made myself are in my opinion too thick/bold and the standard font too thin right? maybe i can get away with just using standard font with more space between the letters but idk they don't look exactly the same, what do you guys think to do? —Made by me— —standard font—
The dots, very hard to do yes it took lots of time so it might not be lined up very properly, but I have made an upgrade on the livery but just on the coaches But soon I might have to delete the dots on the trains and coaches.
I wanted some more other locos than just Vectrons, to start with WLC / KÜHNE NAGEL br182 535-5. livery comes I think from the year 2010 or so. I really like the colors. I still have to change some things on the logos and craft the letters of Kuhn Nagel myself, this was just for the looks -WIP-
Hey well like the Oasis song “Roll with it” then that’s what I do no roadmaps more freedom And yes mate it sounded horrible listening to it on the radio so glad you wasn’t down there. Those EU lads have it hard on the road. I’ve spoken to many UK and EU lad when in the drivers lounge on the ferry to and from Dover to Calais. Some of those lads bosses don’t care about them. Shame because of how much time the EU lads devote to their Jobs, yet no one cares what life is like on the road. Colours again one of them but I think it looks good. If I was you I would definitely feel more comfortable with the colours you do go for. I the GBRf blue seems to do the trick so your doing something right. And for the letters/ fonts, forget the standard stuff. What you have made is far better. The P lines up with the E (Center lined) and the A has a low line which is correct to the R. And for thickness I’d say it’s spot on. I think it’s been gaged correctly eyeing it up myself. I’d be more than happy with it. You’ve done another fantastic piece of work. I found making fonts by hand is the only way to get a close representation of what the fonts look like in real life. Sometimes I might use a P and place a leg on it to make it an R theirs so many different tricks which all come up depending on what work is involved. I don’t know why but I found making the BNSF logo font and UP quite hard when setting out. All had to be done by hand. On the UP with the flag I used in game fonts and numbers due to 300 decal limitations for the flag. The one without use hand made fonts which a really bad number 5 done looking back at. So I was facing this issue a few years back now. I think the more you play and over come the different challenges moving forward you’ll be okay. Your work is brilliant I mean that yet I know a little reassurance from time to time can put some doubts to bed But wait there is more,,,,,, ✌

Now that’s a smart livery, suits the vectron too. I’ve been looking at doing something on a vectron yet the amount of detail is staggering. Not a five minute job yet some how your pumping these beauties out like there’s no tomorrow Have to say I absolutely adore this livery, again you got it pretty much bang on again. I’ll drop my little livery I’ve been working as a pump out series for a batch of re geared class 66 one being 66789 no Re classified as 66689. So I thought I’d mess around with the GBR freight theme, see if the theme on UK passenger rolling stock could be added to the freight side. (WIP) Again plain and simple for cost and maintenance. And that unified look for Englands proposal for a re nationalised railway by 2027. I have been looking at wagons but I am struggling with it to be fair. Doubts again yet I’m sure with a bit of practice I’ll get there. Have to after my last statements about understanding rocket science lol. Anyway brilliant livery work again there speedfreak. = that is a very neat 66 right there. nice color scheme and looks very stylish. with mine I continued and now made the letters myself although I have to do the G of kuhne naGel better because it is not 1:1 but I have a bit of a hard time with it. colors look spot on in LE but in game it is really just terribly overexposed. it looks almost white and not a sand cream color and the blue way too light. so I think I have to make the colors darker and using the GBRF blue is not a bad idea maybe lol I have to say that is not a vectron and WLC has never had a vectron in this livery. but others that I will also make in the future. this is br182 or called the TAURUS also made by siemens but a completely different loco than the 193 mate. I am very curious what you make for the vectron love to see that
No man sorry I’ve not seen much as I was trying to catch up on Saturday, so yes I’ve not seen much new stuff to be fair. I’ll check them out because I’m looking at banging another formation up but using the correct stock this time Yes for fonts etc even the small stuff looks better by hand. The vast amount of fonts available can’t be covered by what 5 or 6 set lettering fonts in game. I might have more but a that’s only down to mastery rewards. ✌
Thanks man, just clean and simple. For the G I can fire some photos over for you tomorrow on how I do my G, see if we can hit that ,,,,,lol For the cremes you have to go way darker than you think. Here’s something similar with the lowers colour. I’ve had to deepen the tone to keep the colour yet not let it fade under direct lighting. Same with the IC Grey, to stop it from looking black or jet back it’s been set in the brown areas with a hint of grey. I tried to go back to how I remember mixing paints for cars. I did some time at a small car garage that only dealt with DBs or David Brown body work. Austin Martin was or is the chassis builder. Looking back at how I was taught then the undercoat is of most importance to getting a finish or shine from the paint. Prepping. Understanding how they apply or mix paints can help because you understand the differences in mixes or paint thrown in to get that right LRV. I try do that but consider how an undercoat might effect my direction on a colour. So the blue of the GBRf is perfect example and I thank you for sharing as 66 713 has done well so I have you to thank for that. The blue is a fine balance yet your in the dark areas so it might appear dark in LD but in the light and with the correct tones it will look bang on as does the GBRf colour you gave me. Play in the dark and then greyish areas to avoid it bright or toy looking. Again sorry gotta dash. ✌
I’ve done all mastery for those routes and I gained nothing like what we’re talking about. I think it comes with this route but they wasn’t loading in. And before I go a quick solution for if you need any guidance. Just set you self a center line up take a decal copy of the line and change to circle. Make as money circles you need as seen and then form a bank (edit) or line of dots. Size up and use as many as you need. As once you have grouped then you’ll have two set groups. Line them up and away you go. (LINE UP YELLOW LINE/ GREEN LINE SET BACK). Hope this helps you out. ✌

This looks great. The only thing I will say is the yellow warning panels on the front look off slightly. I believe it's towards the bottom of them where you've curved it around to fit the cab and it's come out a bit too square, but apart from that it looks great
