Hello, all, I love finding routes for the class 755 and I saw someone talking about the Breckland Line. So, I searched for it online and found the link to Guterbahnhof's website. However, when I clicked on it, the website was dead. So, I was wondering if anyone knew where I can still download this route. Thanks for any help, Anson
Anson, it wasn’t hard to find l just searched Train Simulator Breckland line on Google! https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/tag/breckland-line/ If you have further problems contact AT.
Hi nwp1, This isn't the route. This is just a download tag on the ATS website. Thanks for your help anyway.
Ok, as l said contact Alan or UK Train Sim and leave a comment in the video. I think the route may have been incorporated into a longer version but I am sure Alan or Tom will inform you. Please post on here any success, as it’s a route l haven’t got. If l had l would send it to you. Good luck and l wish you a successful hunt.
I've seen a lot of talk about the Breckland Line, but never the actual route, so I think it may have been a work in progress that was never publicly released. The Fen Line, Ely to King's Lynn, was available for a time but that does not seem to be the case now.
I did find the Fen Line here. However, this is already covered by the Kings Cross to Kings Lynn route by ATS. I think the Breckland Line was never completed all the way to cambridge. If enough people want, I may come around to doing it myself!?
I think ATS intends to do this at some point, it would make sense given they have the 755 to run on it.
A version of the Breckland Line was released but only the 20 miles between Norwich and Eccles Road. I'm not aware of any further updates. I think it was on ATS but I'm not 100% sure, anyway it's not there now. Eccles Road Station
The first part was released for free as an alpha version, but nothing more happened. The Gu website is no longer there, so like most things train sim these days, it's been abandoned I think. Shame really, as it's a nice route and looks superb.
The route is excellent, I think I heard that ATS is constructing the rest of the route to Ely? I believe GU went in the loco dev side of things rather than continuing route building. Again, unsure though.
I've found this archived information: "Update: February 2022 This freeware alpha version of the Breckland Line has now been discontinued. The route has been taken over by ATS (Alan Thomson Simulation) and will be completed by them, plus incorporated into a much larger East Anglian network alongside the ATS ECML and Ely-Peterborough routes. The release date of this expanded version is still TBC. I have taken the decision to hand the route on to ATS as my development priorities have shifted away from route building towards rolling stock development over the preceding three years. This way, the route will be finished and the existing work will be made full use of. Many thanks to those of you who have supported and downloaded the freeware alpha version since its first release in 2018, and I hope you will appreciate the greater scope and increased possibilities that will come with the new and completed route." ATS are at present working on the Manchester Airport Commuter for TSW, l am sure they will get into this again when MAC is released. If your interested contact Alan or ask him on one of his streams, l am sure he will update you on its progress.
ATS announced a lot of stuff over the years... from what I´ve heard on the streams, the bittern line is the next release. Breckland has not been mentioned for a very long time.
I think this, and comments by others, are correct. There was a Breckland Line which I think GU Studios did, but the line has been removed after being acquired by ATS and they have intended to do it now for at least three years, I think...but nothing yet. They also took down the original GEML to Norwich, and they did release the first half of that upgrading the entire thing as far as Ipswich in a subware route. No trains included with that. They are probably working on the line to Norwich as the next big thing, but I know they have a couple other potential payware routes I saw previews of that look genuinely interesting, including one in the south area that goes from Guildford to Reigate; the dev apparently said he did not want to use the Rivet "expansion" from BML to Reigate, but no one mentioned the original expansion which was posted by Danny and does not use that Rivet thing. Hopefully it gets used to go to Redhill.
I also did not understand this part... Next to this upcoming release, they are also working on Scipton, Bradford, Leeds route as payware. Crewe - Manchester (unlike the TSW release it will actually go to Crewe) has also been worked on for a long time and is supposed to be not too far away. Another thing I´ve been waiting for is a revamped London - Brighton, that they teased on stream 1-2 years ago. It was also planed to link it up with Finsbury Park (Kings X - Kings Lynn) and St. Pancras (MML AP) via the tunnels at some point. That would actually be amazing and I´m sad that this project also seems to have gone below the radar.
Presumably Skipton? A problem with such a route is there are no trains, afaik, for the route apart from a 158. 331 and 331 emus work the local services
Ah yes, Leeds to Bradford. I think they have an interest in going at least to Skipton if possible. If they can get to Hellifield, they can connect it to Settle to Carlisle and potentially update that route at the same time. My suspicion is a route as far as Hellifield would be payware while the one to Carlisle would be subware. I believe no trains travel fully from Leeds to Carlisle, and different services are involved on both ends, but I was taking a quick look at one day and there was a stop point. I don't recall if it was Bradford or Skipton, and have not checked old timetables for through services that don't exist now. Danny's extension was part of South London to Brighton. He did Reigate in there. Wheee was this announcement about the TSW route? I have not seen this public information. I heard a Manchester route was announced, and know they wanted to do a TSC route to the airport even a year ago as part of a huge merge.
It's been known since October 2024 about the Manchester Airport route for TSW. It stops at Alderley Edge though but includes the route via Stockport and the Styal Line.
It´s confirmed to be payware. The route looks to be very high quality and includes hundres of new assets (new houses, commercial buildings etc.) The TSC version will also include all that + Crewe
After searching on the internet, I downloaded it. Downloaded file = Breckland Line Alpha v0.2 - Manual Install Option.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2020102...uk/breckland-line---norwich-to-cambridge.html The page above redirects to the page below. https://web.archive.org/web/20201021044122/http://www.gustudios.co.uk/breckland-line-download.html
I wish I could remember where I've seen it but in the last week I've seen a WIP 3D model of one of the Northern Civities. Not sure if it's for TSC or TSW but it's a positive development. AP are also doing an AI Class 720 for GEML, it's quite heavily delayed like the Breckland Line. Quite understandable as most AP content is made in people's spare time.
Well, I suspect someone is going to be upset about that archive link... I knew about Crewe in TSC and was aware of the TSW announcement, but had not seen what was announced. I was being careful not to make a suggestion that TSW was going to Crewe because I honestly did not remember and didn't want to spread such a false rumour. Being careful for once! LOL
The buttons on the last page don't link to anything meaningful. Do you have to be logged into Wayback?
I saw that and I think its for TSC but the body shape was not right - bodyside did not curve in at the top of the doors plus a few other things
I managed to get on to the google drive download on the wayback machine, but it is just stuck on loading.
